  • Wow! I’m on video number 32 for my series on the 102 Tangles of Zentangle. When I started this, I wasn’t sure that I would create videos for all of the tangles. But now I only have 3 more patterns remaining! The three patterns in this video are all what I would call “high focus” and it’s a love/hate relationship when I draw them. I just have to admit that I still struggle with these, so I’ve done a lot of practice. I’ve really enjoyed going through all of these patterns.
This video shows Opus, Mysteria, and Verdigogh. Mysteria is not a published pattern, which means the step outs are only in CZT books. But it is an easy tangle, very similar to Squid except it’s meant to be a filler pattern. And I’m showing three versions of Verdigogh. The original and “evolved” version are in my Zenthology. The “spiraling Verdigogh” is from Project Pack 19 day 3. I had fun finding a way to put them all together. I hope that you enjoy it and I’m so excited about being close to the finish!!
I first learned about Zentangle when I saw the 102 Tangles of Zentangle poster on display at a local community college. I have been in love with Zentangle ever since, and I have a goal to show all the 102 patterns before my 5-year CZT anniversary on June 19, 2024. The 102 Tangles of Zentangle poster was published in 2009 and can be purchased at Zentangle.com.

I love this! Thanks so much for teaching this lovely and relaxing art! I tend to be a perfectionist as well. It can be a heavy burden! Zentangling with your gentle reminders to relax my hand, uncliinch my teeth, and breathe help me chill out. I have Philippians 4:8 on my wall that helps me too: " whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things." I have discovered this includes how I treat myself!

Tank you very much, Patti. 🥰 And you’re so welcome. Yes, I try to calm my perfectionism every time I draw, lol! I love your scripture. A beautiful reminder! ❤️❤️

Verdigogh is one of my favorites, all styles. I've started ZT 7 years ago at a monthly library group led by a CZT. I have only missed a class if I was on a trip. Sept.2023 I became a CZT. When asked by my library CZT if I'd like to do one of the tangle instructions & which Tangle? Verdigogh was my choice. I thought it would be just right for using the large easel for the first time. I showed all the variations, so it will always be special to me. At times I have combined the squared end, & pointed ends on the same tile. Looking forward to seeing your last video for 102 Tangles. It's been fun following you and I love your added tips.

Thank you so much for response. 🥰❤️ When I remind myself to not overthink it, I do so much better! Once I practice it a few times, I do much better.
Are you on Facebook or Instagram? I would love to see your work.

My therapist told me once that it was like I built a big mosaic tike and only focused on the places where the mortar was uneven or missing rather than taking a step back and being amazed by the beautiful mosaic tile I had built.
