Anyone else remember when BSB ruled the world!? To think they did it all without social media and hardly any internet makes them even more amazing in my eyes 🤩
Surely it was easier without social media though? It certainly seems harder to stand out now than it was back then. We would watch weekly music shows and be told who was popular - radio would play the songs that were selling. It was a self-fulfilling machine that fed us. Nowadays, social media doesn't mean sales for all but one or two top acts. And it seems more fickle now for acts... I'm over 40 so my view is likely outdated but the 80s/90s for me were the pinnacle of new acts coming out and thriving on talent or appeal. A good song got noticed by a lot of ears and was promoted into a hit. Simpler times.
The fact that they still have a strong fan base and they are still producing quality music shows the strength of the talent and friendship these guys have. Like all bands, they were really moulded into that Boyband pop template. But their music holds up. “Never gone” is probably my favourite. Such a beautiful song. But I also really like “like a child”.
I agree. Never Gone was their BEST work--both the released and the R&B unreleased material. Honestly, Song For The Unloved would have won a grammy in my mind!!
Whether people admit to it or not, BSB is a guilty pleasure. Just because they were young and cute, and male, didn't mean they didn't have great talent or beautiful production. Always great music.👍🎵💗
It was for me at some point while growing up. But like since 12 years ago till today, I could care less about anyone knowing I listen to them. The lyrics, music, beat, vibe and vocals are amazing. There are only 2 chances: You love their music or You clearly haven't listened to it properly.
Brian and Nick (the two blondes) sing lead the most often, with AJ (the guy wearing sunglasses during his solo) jumping in fairly often as well. The remaining two, Howie and Kevin, solo the least often but, they each have their moments in certain songs too. It, actually, wasn't until Kevin took a break from the group for a few years that I realized that he's totally the linchpin to a lot of their harmonies (since he's the only baritone). That's why he doesn't solo a lot. You'll notice him in this song as the one providing some backup harmony for AJ during his solo.
Mostly the leads were all sung by Brian,Nick & A.J.. Kevin and Howie would get a chance to sing here and there. But when Kevin left Howie was singing a whole lot more. Then when Kevin returned. Now all five members sing on just about every song now.
Nice Kevin observation! I feel the same with Victoria Beckham in the Spice Girls being a mid-baritone singer as well. I recently listened to her individual stems on a few songs and it was an amazing surprise after all these years.
@@gojuls Oh Jesus Christ do not compare the Spice Girls to these sublime vocalists. Victoria Beckham has even said herself she couldn't sing a note and they used to often switch off her mic on live shows
Oh but whenever either Howie or Kevin has a little spot, man it becomes a complete harmony. Songs as "Show me the meaning of being lonely", "All I have to give", "I want it that way", "I still" are powerful when you listen to all the voices. And the harmonies in many others just let them all bright up together (as in "I'll never break your heart", "Safest place to hide", "In a world like this", "Breath" [from DNA]) and caught you in the moment.

This was their highest charting song in the USA, 2 weeks at #2. It was also their very first hit. GREAT TUNE!!! Once you get past the "boy band" factor & actually listen to the music, you realize the songs are really catchy. I'll never understand why some people judge the music on the artists. I just think we were very lucky to live through the era of New Kids, The Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Boyzone & Westlife (both from 🇨🇮) and then of course the daddy of them all, Take That 🇬🇧 whom are still going strong 31 years later and without whom we would never of heard of Robbie Williams or Gary Barlow. In those days they didn’t have the auto tuners so if you couldn’t sing then they would turn your microphone off and made you stand there and look pretty or in the case of Jason Orange, (Take That) be one of the world’s best breakdancers. Thankfully for him, he could play guitar and by the time they came back after a 10 year break in 2006, he had taken singing lessons. (My favourite of his lead vocals is an acoustic track called ‘Wooden Boat’ from the album ‘Beautiful World’) 😉
@@traveller112 True. Everybody, Hey Mr DJ, Larger Than Life, Shape of My Heart, As Long as You Love Me, The Call, and Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely are all classics by them. For something newer, No Place is a good one.
They have a new album called DNA. The album I love most is their album In A World Like This. I love their song Madeleine, Soldier, Permanent Stain and the new ones they did
I love BSB. The song list to listen to is endless. 20 years of music to choose from. I love their newer music as much as I love the songs from the early years. My daughters & I saw them live 4 times, once for each of their first 4 albums. Couldn’t hear a word they sang because of the screaming teenage girls but we sang & danced thru every song! Special memories of mother & daughters just having fun.
To me, of all the so-called "boy bands", the Backstreet Boys are one of the best. You might also want to check out "Larger Than Life", "Straight Through my Heart" and "The Shape of my Heart". Perfect pop music!
I’m loving these retro boyband videos. You have to do “Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely” by this group, since you’re appreciating them as singers. They were on a massive roll of hits, and that was one of them.
Yes Brian Littrell sings most of lead singing. They can do acupella. That's why the singer's were picked so they would harmonize fantastic both each other. Great band. Thank you for all your work =)
Ok so, since you're gonna do "Everybody" next, I'm thinking another mid-tempo song like this one is "As Long As You Love Me" and "All I have to Give." If you want something nice and slow, go for "I'll Never Break Your Heart" and "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely". You want something more upbeat, try "Larger than Life", "The Call", "We've Got it Goin' On" "Get Down". 👍

I love all their songs 💖
How has times changed! It’s important to be in a good mood hearing a song 🎵 because you will link it to something in your life !
Over 20 years later and still listening to this - happy memories of Tanamur
talented guys that is most important
YESS love this reaction :) try out "the call", "show me the meaning of being lonely," or "i'll never break your heart" ! I think you'll vibe with those :)
Good to see you reacting to more Backstreet Boy’s. I’m glad you mentioned ‘’Backstreets Back’ as I am looking forward to seeing you do that one and I am gonna give a shout out to my favourite BB song ‘As Long As you Love Me’.
Don’t forget to check out the mighty British boy/man band ‘Take That’ who have been going strong for over 30 years. 🙂
They got tons of beautiful songs
Also, “All I Have to Give.” That song will be stuck in your head for days after. Their harmonies are great on it, and it’s got that smooth, breezy, R&B vibe.
They have so many songs and they are all quality tunes, still hoping you will play "In a World Like This", touching song with excellent vocals. Thanks for the upload!
LFO had a few bangers back in the day, girl on TV was a top tier boyband song back in the day 💪🏼
This song definitely has a groove to it.
These guys are great, They are older, got families of their own, are still friends and are still performing today. Check out their song "Incomplete" and they got new ones "Chances" and "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", you can see the transition from "Quit Playing Games".
The Backstreet Boys, One of the best boy bands this song is one of their best ever, such a beautiful song but all of their songs are great. There music, songs, just melt in your mind, so lovely to listen to. A good Boy Band of all time.
Brian's voice is just heaven, so beautiful ✌
''Show me the meaning of being lonely'' and ''Incomplete'' are great songs!! You should definitely check them out!
You should check out a song they sing with the very popular country duo... Florida Georgia Line.... it’s called God, Your Momma and Me. It’s really good, they are much older and the video shows them with their wives.
Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely. You'll be blown away by the vocals.
Oh the memories. Vacation from Idaho to California. All the way there my pre-teen daughters blasting The Backstreet Boys and Brittany Spears. I know every song and now this one is stuck in my head.
Awesome reaction
A song you will love is called Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely!!! I own all their albums and they are an amazing band!!!
“Don’t go breaking my heart” and “just want you to know”
I freaking love Backstreet Boys! Everybody is one of their best songs from back in the day!
Oh my goodness such great memories of mid 90 s traveling across country with my kids from Texas to Tennessee.. such a great song and we loved it!! They are great
They sound even better live in concert or when they sing in acapella 🙂🥰 I’ve been a fan of theirs since “97”.
Show me the meaning of being lonely is a beautiful sad song by the Backstreet Boys 🙂
Best boy band ever! Please keep going down this rabbit hole. There are SOOOO many great songs!
Still my favourite band to this day! I’ve seen them in concert 7 times ❤️ “As Long As You Love Me” & “Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely” are good too
Song written by the Swedish Max Martin at the Cheiron studio in Stockholm. Started by legendary Denniz Pop.

My favorite BSB song is All I Have To Give. To this day is probably my absolute favorite song. Can't play it once. Always in a loop. Glad to be alive when they ruled the world. Remember Total request live

I agree
They are one of greatest boyband ever, still active to these day, producing music, albums and world tour. Do your reactions on theirs hits.
you definitely need to hear Post-2000 Backstreet Boys! The Call, Incomplete, This is Us, Passionate... all amazing. Passionate came out in 2019 and is such a banger!!!!
