Hello, firstly nice video and great explanation, just 2 questions: 1-The gentle cleanser doesn't remove the Spf?? I am using the DHC cleansing oil before to use this cleanser, is okay??? 2-Do you really need to exfoliate your skin if you are using retinol?? Thanks
That's awesome to hear!! I'm so glad you love the products. Adult acne can be so hard to deal with, and I really love these products for changing my skin too.💕
Thank you so much! Enjoyed watching the video. Very informative. I am new to Zo and have dealt with acne. Was looking for a regime to know in what order to use what. I found it! Thank you.
Hi there! Not exactly sure what you mean by "with scene" but yes from the wrinkle texture repair I did go through a purging process. It can look different from person to person, but I got through it! Drinking a lot of water can help speed up the purging process. Hope this helps!

Hi, i have been using ZO. 10% vitamin C. Before it I apply ZO toner. But i think Vitamin C is causing a bit itchiness on my skin. Is it normal or shall i consult to my doc. Pls. Also suggest if there is any remedy to this. Thankx
I’m really scared of using the products due to the retinol. Does it thin the skin etc. Once you use retinol do you have to use it for the rest of your life. Will my skin look awful before it gets better. Is this true I would appreciate your response to my questions. Thanks 🙏🏼
Hi Ava!! So retinol has a lot of scary myths out there about it. So that being said, I can only speak to you from my personal perspective based on what I've been trained on and experienced myself. I've been trained by our medical director, owner RN injector, and ZO reps as well. The way they've explained it to me, is that the retinol from ZO products penetrates down to the sub-dermis (the second layer of our skin). It then stimulates cell turnover and encourages your skin to basically grow healthy new skin cells. When this happens, the old skin flakes off and makes way for the new healthy cell production. So there is potential that you will have some peeling and flaking during your first two weeks while your skin acclimates. You may also experience some purging, which is basically any impurities or clogged pores that your skin already had in development, may be brought to the surface. Once your skin is adjusted, you will have much less peeling/flaking. But in the end this is really a good thing because it means that the product is working the way it's supposed to. A cool thing about retinol is that it actually helps your dermal layers grow stronger and thicker with cell production. You will be more sensitive to the sun, so a good sunblock is a MUST. You can stop using it at any time, the thing is that retinol doesn't have memory though. So if you stop using it for a month and want to re-start, you will likely experience the same two week peeling flaking purging period. Ultimately at the end of the day it really is a great anti aging tool that can help most skin types. I hope this answers some questions and let me know if you have any others💕
Sheridan Leatherberry Sheridan I really really appreciate your quick response. One last question does it thin the skin that’s why I need to use SPF and can we use any SPF. Thank you and love from the UK 🇬🇧much appreciated for your time and effort into replying.
Ava so it’s my understanding that it helps “thicken” your skin and helps it produce cell turn over and collagen production. So I don’t think it actually ruins your skin at all. The reason you’ll need a good SPF is because it makes your skin more sensitive. And it’s my pleasure I love talking about this stuff ☺️
Sheridan Leatherberry you have been amazing thank you. I will let you know how I get on once i order it on Monday. You do look amazing and I like your detail when you discuss products and procedures. I’ve subscribed to your channel too. Have a lovely day I’m heading to bed now thank you so much.
Did you go through a few hard weeks where your skin was flaking and sensitive? Burning? I’m four days in and I’m really struggling and worrying it will never get better! How long did you stick to it before you saw good results and what were the first few weeks like?
I am using the gentle cleanser, complexion renewal pads, exfoliating polish, wrinkle+texture repair, and the daily power defense. I was using the retinol every other day but I was advised to switch to once a week to start out because my reaction was pretty bad. Looking at your skin, I want to keep going, but I just need a realistic expectation of when it will start to look better! This is a rough phase to go through! I wear makeup every day and LOVE the artistry involved. But I can’t wear makeup right now. It looks SO bad! And it’s really hard.
Gwen Jessop okay so I am the office manager and patient coordinator at Facial Innovations bf Shari, a med spa. We typically advise to use your wrinkle and texture repair 2-3 nights a week to start. This will give you a good base for your skin to acclimate. Make sure you are only using one pump for your entire face. Cleanser morning and night, DPD in morning, and completion renewal pads at night. If you’re still very sensitive switch the completion renewal pads to your off nights of your retinol. It is definitely a rough patch at first but typically after about two weeks you will be adjusting.
This is what I would advise to one of our clients. Definitely keep in touch with your provider to see what they recommend. The thing with retinol is that it needs consistency to work. It doesn’t have memory so if you stop using it you’re back to square one. I promise stay consistent and you will LOVE it. Idk if you watched my acne journey video with the pics of my skin transformation but I really believe the wrinkle and texture repair held a big part of it. I know it sucks but it’s temporary and you will LOVE wearing makeup after you’re adjusted. 💜💜💜 hope this helps
Have you tried exfoliating accelerator or daily power defense? I added these into my ZO acne routine but feel like my pores are actually getting more clogged. I think it’s more the daily power defense but wanted to get your take.
Hey - did you find your acne completely cleared? I have just bought the acne product from Zo Skin as I have the same issue you had, with the left side spots hormonal acne. It really gets me down, and I am hoping this will really help my skin! How long did it take you? Did it last for you?
Hii, I’ve just started this & my skin has just gone so so dry & sore. Using the gentle cleanser, complexion renewal (every other day), exfoliating polish (every 2-3 days) & then bright alive & daily power defence (brightening system). Is it worth me getting hydrating Creme will that help? When does it start to get better I’m struggling a bit!
Emma Catterall Hi Emma I have just received my kit too that’s the exact thing I am worried about it being so dry. I was advised to use the renewal cream to help with this. After reading a few comments on other sites a few people said the cleanser was the worst product out of the kit so I don’t know what to do the last thing is I need is applying a load of cream to combat the dryness and then buying more product. Sheridan is really good at replying to your questions so let’s see what she says.
Ava hii - I’m having same problem the facial cleanser just ruins my skin it’s so sore & dry after that :/ may be that my skin needs to renew itself a bit. Hoping to get hydrating Creme & thinking maybe a calming toner may be better?
Emma Catterall hi Emma I’m the sane the face wash is just so drying. I suppose we have to keep going I feel because it dries the skin out looks more aged hoping it’s a temporary issue. Will the cream and toner be for the same brand ?
Ava yeah hydrating Creme is this brand (it’s mentioned in above video & im told it’s good for soothing) & calming toner zo do which is supposed to be less harsh (as know you need to stick with same brand) I’m a week in so far & hoping it improves as so sore right now!
Ava jusy spoken you my skincare lady - she’s said stickwith it as is but add in hydrating Creme & said I need to wait at least 4 weeks - hope it fixes itself soon! My insta is emmacatterall8 if you wana chat more on skin/support haha :)

Thanks! So helpful. I was on isotretinoin (accutane) for 8 months and now Im using gentle cleanser, exfoliating polish, oil control pads with 2% salicylic acid and then recovery cream and also hydrating cream. But I really want to try the growth factor serum and eighter Wrinkle +texture Repair. Have you seen any improvement in acne scars and textured skin after using the product?
Hi there!! I'm glad you found this helpful!! I've tried growth factor before and love it. It's definitely a favorite among our clients as well. It's great for stimulating cell turn over and aiding in collagen stimulation. They have some great before and afters on the ZO website. As for the wrinkle and texture repair, it does have .5% retinol in it which majorly helps with cell turnover. With this in your first two weeks you may experience purging and really irritated skin. Now that I've been on it, I love it so much. It really helped break up my acne texture around my chin area. You will peel and flake a bit as your skin adjusts as well. I've definitely seen improvement in my skin's texture with consistent use. I'm not sure how much it will help with acne scars depending on their severity. But to me personally it has just helped my skin overall as a whole. I also notice a difference in appearance of my pores. I hope this helps!
Ahh good to know!! I was always told the way I pronounced it, so thank you for correcting me. Also I will definitely ask our ZO reps about the fragrance in the toner. From what I've been trained, any fragrances included are naturally derived and plant based. I will definitely look into it!!😊
Hey - I’m getting quite a few under skin spots with this that are quite large & seem difficult to get rid of, any suggestions of what to do to combat that? :)
Hey Emma! If I am getting deeper or more difficult and inflamed breakouts, I like using the ZO Acne Treatment that has 10% benzoyl peroxide. It really helps zap away any particular irritated breakouts. Other than that I would try and get on a good medical grade skin care routine. Consistency is key. It takes a long time of being consistent with your skincare to see lasting results. Honestly ZO Skin Health really changed my skin. I have a separate video talking about my acne journey and there are some pictures on there. You can see how much my skin has improved. I hope this helps!!
Sheridan Leatherberry thank you! I do use the zo skincare been using it for approx 6 weeks & overall my skin is so much better & healthier! Just seeing the odd deeper breakout which I’m struggling to help so I’ll try the acne treatment as a spot treat :)
Ava omg it made a big difference with skin texture for my face. The retinol doesn’t bother me at all. I’ve been using it twice a day since it arrived. I cut the pads in half and sometimes skip polish. Other than that, I really like it and will purchase again.
Ava yes I will. I think the polish and pads are slowly diminishing some acne scars and hyperpigmentation. I’ve also incorporated Skin Better eye cream or the Alastin eye cream as well. I switch between each cream.
