      The winner of the Indycar championship gets 40 superlicense points which are enough for F1. He also needs to arrange a test with an F1 team to at least showcase his talents. But the problem is all the seats are locked in the F1 teams today that even F2 standings toppers don't get a chance in F1 easily nowadays. Example : C. Ilott (2020 F2 runner up), De Vries (2019 F2, 2021 FE champion), etc.
      There are talks of new teams (Probably one of the Volkswagen brands) entering F1 in 2025 which will increase the number of seats available in F1. I would like him to replace Mazepin or Latifi if given a chance as both Haas and Williams are American teams.

Switching from the 2 ton V8 supercars he has been driving for 8-9 years to Indycar would have to be way harder than coming from F1. Way way harder! Agreed, most cars would go down the middle so sato letting the car role to the side of the track would normally be a good idea. Stuff happens. If Sato held in the middle its very likely he would of been t boned by the next car.

      @codymoe4986 3 роки тому +2

      He was on Sato for not stopping the roll...you can even see Dixon enter Sato's view through Sato's in-car camera shot.
      If Sato hits the brakes when he sees Dixon, there is way more room for Dixon to swing wide...

    • @michaeleverson3801

      @@codymoe4986 But you have to remember, the in-car camera is mounted at least a foot higher than Sato's line of sight, probably a good 18 inches. So what you saw in the in-car video was not representative of what Sato could see.

    • @DWtrainsNZ
      @DWtrainsNZ 3 роки тому +3

      Actually the announcer is right.
      Sato was right on the inside line when Dixon came over the crest, so he was forced to go to the outside to try to avoid him.
      I agree Sato was doing the right thing by rolling out of the way, but did he look properly before doing so, no. Dixon was well and truly over the crest by the time Sato had cleared the inside line.
      Sato was once again driving like an idiot.
      If you think I'm talking rubbish, pause the video at 14:20, take note of where Sato & Dixon are on the track, then watch the rest of the incident in slow motion.

      Probably race control saw it as a 50:50 incident(racing incident). Yes, it is not always a good thing to launch yourself into a corner. However, there could've been a time for the other car to react to that and widen the steering angle side-by-side. Late braking happened in almost all of the motorsport series. Also, the reason for Grosjean hitting Johnson was due to his turning in even though they were side by side in the entry of the corner.

      They don’t have blue flags in Indycar which is norm good. JJ should never have shut the door. I don’t mind them racing but he should have stayed wide on the apex knowing RoGro was going to be there.
