I am The End of Comments. Even after someone writes a comment after me, I will be my comment that inspired the intention of writing the comment that comes after me. And all comments after that will carry on the essence of my comment. My comment will be everlasting: The End of Comments.
Victor: ..yeah but like why would i say im in a room when i could just say im sitting on a chair? Like what new information does that convey? Id much rather discuss specifically whether or not we are sitting in chairs. The guys: well you get that you wouldnt be in the chair if you werent in the room... I mean sure a room is only a smaller part of a house and we could discuss whether or not its helpful to think of it as rigidly seperate... Victor: yeah i guess i just dont understand what people even mean when they say room you know? Like we seem to be talking about different things. The guys: ?? Victor: I find rooms uninteresting.
democracy was not practiced by only one community ... there were/are other communities with democratic systems developed independently ... like the Gadaa system in Ethiopia
Will they actually discuss the fantastically stupid conceptual mess that's history, or that stupid Fukuyama book? Let's find out! Addendum. 8 minutes in and it's almost both, but yeah. Fukuyama.
42:00 I don't agree at all with this moralistic view of history. I think if you drop your cultural biases and start looking at history as a series of events rather than a fairy tale you will come out with a greater understanding of how human systems function. It's a little ridiculous that halfway through a podcast about the [history of the] concept of history there's still at least one guy who's a Whig. Maybe he read too much Hegel?
If you actually listened maybe you'd realize that they might even agree with you 35:20 😂 were you in a fairytale when you were listening? I'M JOSHING YOU BRO, but fr.. 😆
I guess "the person in Walmart" not likely referencing Baudrillard really tickles your arrogant senses of humour. It's no doubt a real burden to be so brilliant. The unwashed masses sure are pathetic.
The completely apolitical guy who thinks history shouldn't matter is fascinating. Maybe disturbing would be a better word lol. Disturbingly dumb, I guess? Edit: WAIT HE'S DOING HIS PHD IN POLITICAL SCIENCE?!?!?!?

Politics - "who gets what and why" - cannot be situational by definition. You need to explain how the status quo came to be, y'know, quo.
Bow drill lard B)
all narratological or story-telling or "mythic" considerations.

Maybe apply that 'biased' reasoning to yourself, cutie. Oh, and if you're a Tory, read ANYTHING and you'll grow out of it. Enjoy
