I relate to this sentiment very hard as I have OCD and I want everything to be perfect...but that doesn't happen always and sometimes I just have to accept that
"I think you'll marry. You'll find someone and love them. You will live and die for them. That's your way, and you will... And I'll watch." funny how Laurie said this, but Jo ended up doing so.😭💔
"Well, I'm not a poet. I'm just a woman. And as a woman, there's no way for me to make my own money. Not enough to earn a living, or to support my family."- Amy March; This line hurts tho coz this is really a reality for some women. 💔 Great movie.👏👏 cried a lot 😭😭
tomasz What? That wasn’t even the point of the quote whatsoever, what Amy said symbolizes how women back in the 1800’s were not able to make a life by themselves let alone with their family. Amy was told to marry to be able to support her family, and that was the truth of many women around their time. And no, women don’t need to man up and get a job. For one, women could have not really done that back then, women working was not apparent at all, and even if Jo did, it was barely enough to support her family. Secondly, all people have the right to choose what they want to do in their life. Looking down on women that are housewives is just as bad as looking down on a working women. Apologies if you possibly get offended by this in any way, but your statement in my eyes was false, to each is own but that is my take one the phrase.
This is truly one of the greatest trailers to come out of Hollywood in the last couple years. The music, the editing - everything came together without 'spoiling' anything but still managing to be incredibly emotional. Well done to the team involved!!
I mean, Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Timothée Chalamet, Laura Dern, Meryl Streep, Louis Garrel (who i adore) and Tracy Letts. Just wow! Oscars all over. I have never been this excited about a film specially another remake.
I actually really like how Laurie and Jo didn't end up together. It was better off that they stay friends. They're both happy and it's a win win situation.
I was fooled and thought the Jo and Friedrich plotline was real 💀 I gotta say, the transition was so jarring it took me out of the story. They didnt need to make it real, but it could have been better... somehow. After all, we humans are not consistent creatures, so it was pretty believable for what it was even if Jo was adamant about not marrying in the start. That part could have been reworked, but other than that it's a lovely story, albeit quite sad.
@@superplaylists1616 It was technically real I guess? The whole film was basically Jo being the actual author of the Little Women book. She didn't want Jo to have a love interest but was given no choice to make it happen otherwise the book would not be published, which exactly happened in the film too. So the actual storyline of the Little Women story, the whole Jo and Fedrick thing did happen. The film was just Jo telling the story she wrote in her book which is Little Women, so Fedrick and Jo didn't happen OUTSIDE the book. Heck I think Fedrick didn't even exist and was made up 💀
Can you tell me where else we have seen this Timothee Chalamet? Everybody is raving over him and I have no idea who he is. Is he better than the baby Christian Bale who played Laurie in the original?
@@CeltycSparrow hi darling, so Timothée has first played some "minor" roles in films like "Miss Stevens" (2016) and "Interstellar" (2014). Don't forget "Beautiful Boy" (2018), a truly little masterpiece too. Next future films with him are "A Rainy Day in New York" and this makeover of the novel. I haven't watched all his filmography yet, but I guarantee you that he has amazing skills.

This movie is amazing and one of the few that are realistic, heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. You don’t get everything you want in life and « I’m so sick of people saying that love is all a woman is fit for » just broke my heart. Even nowadays, that still is true...
mansterj While I think our society has gotten more progressive over the years and I think it’s more acceptable for a woman to not want to be a housewife or mother, it was definitely a huge expectation of women in the 19th and 20th century up until the 60s or so to get married, become a wife and a mother, and if a woman didn’t do that, she was often seen as disgraceful, especially to her family.
Was crying the whole time while watching this movie. I dont know why im so emotional watching this. Must have been the acting, lines or just remebering my childhood. I was really young when I firat read this book and there was also a cartoon tv show about this. I just realized how much time I have wasted. I wish I did more on my childhood. 😢😢😢
Oh dear, I'm sorry for that. I know childhood pain sometimes seems little but they're so real, maybe the truest pains we can experience as humans. I do hope and pray, however, that what you have from your childhood to hang onto is really great 🌹
@FilmGamer I don't think she's supposed to be downright ugly. She was a tomboy though, and I imagine she was probably like Arya Stark -- could be considered good looking if they cleaned up, but had ridiculously pretty sisters.
The last scene where Jo's book got printed and everything and the look on saiorse ronan's face, all the turmoil of emotions it just soothes you, gives that feeling of fulfillment. Thanks for all those involved in making this beautiful art piece. Saiorse your eyes tell tales that even words can't.
I feel like I'm going to like Timothee's more. He seems youthful and kind-hearted, broken as well. Bale's seemed a little too flirty sometimes and it didn't felt like he was suffering from a broken heart sometimes. Still Bale was a wonderful Laurie. I'm really looking forward to this movie!
Tyleya yes! but somehow i feel like Laurie was nos supposed to be, or at least not with the sisters. I didn't really enjoy the way the director told the story of Laurie and Any, but that's not Bale's job. Again, he's great, but I'm really looking forward to this movie and this new Laurie is one of the main reasons why.

I think Timothée and Saoirse must have signed a blood pact or something. They come as a package deal for every movie they're in or else it triggers the apocalypse.

When they cut off the best line in the trailer: “I’m so SICK of it...but I’m so lonely.”
Joshua McCue yeah, I reacted to that too
I think it fits to cut it for promotional purposes but the full line in the movie allows you to take it all in with proper context
Agree with serendipity on this one. Wouldn’t hit as hard if they gave it away in the trailer.
I KNOW
That part tho. I was so sad when she wrote the letter to Laurie and then had to tear it up. Ughhhhhh.
Great movie.👏👏 cried a lot 😭😭
w3r f4ewar3w rf4ewrfw
tomasz What?

@@snickbiordking5748 me too
I was fooled and thought the Jo and Friedrich plotline was real 💀 I gotta say, the transition was so jarring it took me out of the story.
Heck I think Fedrick didn't even exist and was made up 💀
Now, these little women. How little are they? I mean, are they like, scary little?

This movie is amazing and one of the few that are realistic, heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. You don’t get everything you want in life and « I’m so sick of people saying that love is all a woman is fit for » just broke my heart. Even nowadays, that still is true...
thats why its in this movie, because thats what some woman think and others want them to think like that. I'm not sure it was in the original movie
Who, or what aspect of society (either in past or present) has ever claimed that love is all a woman is fit for?
mansterj While I think our society has gotten more progressive over the years and I think it’s more acceptable for a woman to not want to be a housewife or mother, it was definitely a huge expectation of women in the 19th and 20th century up until the 60s or so to get married, become a wife and a mother, and if a woman didn’t do that, she was often seen as disgraceful, especially to her family.
@@yaelsafiya The quote was that "love" was all a woman was fit for not marriage.

Saorise Ronan is perfect for the role
@FilmGamer I don't think she's supposed to be downright ugly. She was a tomboy though, and I imagine she was probably like Arya Stark -- could be considered good looking if they cleaned up, but had ridiculously pretty sisters.
The last scene where Jo's book got printed and everything and the look on saiorse ronan's face, all the turmoil of emotions it just soothes you, gives that feeling of fulfillment. Thanks for all those involved in making this beautiful art piece. Saiorse your eyes tell tales that even words can't.
I thought I'd be too attached to Christian Bales Laurie, but Timothee Chalamet seems to capture the same kind of spirit, I'm excited for this
I feel the same way!
And it’s Timothèe Chalamet, so of course it’s going to be great. 😂😂
Omg Christian was so......breathtaking. But I’m willing to let it go.
Tyleya yes! but somehow i feel like Laurie was nos supposed to be, or at least not with the sisters. I didn't really enjoy the way the director told the story of Laurie and Any, but that's not Bale's job. Again, he's great, but I'm really looking forward to this movie and this new Laurie is one of the main reasons why.
