  • In this fireside story, koro tells us the story of how the famous haka "Ka Mate Ka Mate" now synonymous with the All Blacks came to be. Full of magic, intrigue and with few supporters, our main character Te Rauparaha, devises a dance that highlights pushing for success in the face of adversity.

Mananui would never have hidden him after what he did to Te Aho. I suspect TeRauparaha must have taken utu against my koko when he was murdered by Ngati Maru at Motuopuhi in 1830.
