As someone looking to find an RC51 as its been my dream bike this video was amazing. Also your editing skills are another level. Keep up the amazing videos!
@@counter-steer You're doing a damn good job convincing me I need an RC51 in my life. I sold one bike earlier this month, and just need to get rid of one more to make enough space... then I need to keep my eyes peeled! I'd been really considering either a VF1000 someday because I have a VF500F and adore it, but think it would be neat to have something with gear driven cams. But at that rate... why not just go for broke and find an RC51. I love the creatures hiding under the kimono at 1:55! You've got some of the most fun edits I've seen on bike vids. Cheers.
What can I say... they are truly great bikes and actually just starting to appreciate in value right now. I had a lead on a ‘04 but lost out ‘cause shipping would have been over $2k. East to West coast. Oh well, there’s something to be said for the SP1... I just love it. VF’s are great too, VF1000R even better and definitely going to be harder to find over the next 10 years. I need to save up for a bigger garage! Those creepy little guys are from some kids show... just bananas man
@@counter-steer bigger garage seems to be the universal answer to every motorcycle enthusiasts' problem! That whole correct number of bikes = n+1 keeps catching us all off guard. Anyway, I appreciate your sharing the story of your bikes and the vids. I can't imagine they're quick to put together with your level of detail. But hey, when everything is electric and self driving, and we're all plugged into the grid and dosed with soma... We've got these to turn back to. And Im sick of scraping 38 year old rubber gaskets trying to revive another VF500F which is why I'm leaning towards something only 2 decades old as the next project 😂
The quality of your edits is amazing! I'm looking forward to the next installment in your series. I rebuilt an RC51 on my channel as well that was covered in Rhino Liner...boy was that stuff a mess. Not quite back to OEM, but it was a fun project indeed! Good luck, and I am excited to see more of your content!
Having owned one for 15 years, I've literally just sold my 2000 SP-1 (it was collected half an hour ago!). Why am I now watching UA-cam vids of them!?!?! Is there a regret creeping in!? Hmm
I've watched all your videos and now I'm disappointed. Cos there aren't any more! The quality of your video work and editing is amazing, the sense of humour is perfect, and the content is beautiful. Why do you have only 750 subs? (I am 750/750 lol). I'd love to see more RC-51 videos, and also if you can, the VFR1000, it looks like an amazing bike.
Thanks man, appreciate the patronage! Yeah the VF’s pretty special but hasn’t run in a couple years so the carbs will have to get man-handled before heading out. Luckily (like a swift kick in the wedding vegetables) life’s getting less busy with the economy in the toilet so I’ll make some time for more vids!
Good deal on the mud guard looks great. I know I’ve chopped up everyone I came across when I was younger now I’m always looking for undamaged ones for my restorations.
@@counter-steer doesn't necessarily have to be a rebuild, just a good ride and perhaps a little photosession like you did with the Blade 👍🏻 would be cool "occifer" 🤣

Hi, i bought SP1. I'm owner since 3 months. I rebuild rear fender like you. I hope you will post part 2 soon. And i have same VFR 750 like you. I'm from France. Bye ✌️
Right on! Mine was a basket case… previous owner rattled-canned the whole thing mat black with some gorgeous neon pink accents. I rebuilt and painted it but the tank top ended up silver/charcoal colour.
@@counter-steer weird decision, this is probably the least common and imo the classiest colour scheme on the 93 blade. Seen dozens of white ones over the years, and they look great, but I never saw my black and gold on any other blade.
Yeah, it gets weirder as it’s a rare ‘92 only released in Canada and Europe. The plan is to fix the tank color one day… I absolutely love the black version of the first blades.
Very excited to see this project after your fantastic work on the Fireblade. How do you find using the wooden table? Personally, I'm on the fence over buying a hydraulic lift or just putting together something like the table that you use. I'm limited on space so thinking that it might be better for me to have a bespoke table the exact size that I need. Thanks.
Hey! I'm super happy with my table... the thing is you can store tons of parts and bits underneath the table so you actually end up with more space than before pulling the bike up. Which is the only draw back. Ye have to get 'er up on the bench every time. No problem if it's running but can be a pain if you're halfway through and feel the need to pressure wash or something.
Yeah man, CBR 1100XX blackbird is the same shape on the bottom half. I know a guy who started making OEM under-tails for the SP1, maybe one day he’ll do Fireblades too!
