Those who moved to UK in the last 2 - 5 years had very rosy pictures about UK and life in UK. They did not realize that UK will start moving downhill so quickly, leaving all their assumptions and plans in disarray. Today they (are in a way stuck and) have a very hard time acknowledging that UK is way past its best time.

Hey Ashika, thanks for this informative video! One point that is still missing in videos across youtube is the impact of this crisis in the short-term, say the next 4-5 months. Specifically I'm talking about the reports of high possibility of power blackouts across the country in the months of Jan/Feb, and the energy crisis in general and how it is impacting / can impact people. I'd love to know your comments on this, since I'll be coming to the UK in January intake for masters.
Hi Abhishek, there is talk of alternative plans for energy, removing the need for any blackouts. Just yesterday it was reported that Rishi Sunak is on the verge of signing a deal with the US for a gas deal. I haven't bought either a flashlight or stocked up on any candles yet.
@@AbsolutelyAshika You have to stop believing what politicians say on TV, your government can't do anything because it doesn't control the UK energy anymore. Now we are all waiting for the hard winter to raise the prices. The company I work for has 6 large gas ships off the coast of England that are waiting for the prices to increase.Blackouts happen because everybody is waiting. If you want to do something I recommend a diesel generator, it will be very bad in the UK this is just the beginning.UK is too small now, unfortunately the EU has priority.US is already at maximum capacity supplying EU gas and oil and the reserves have drastically decreased, Rishi Sunak told lies.
I moved away from the UK in beginning of 2024 after living there for 10 years to a much poorer country in Europe. I'm surprised to say that I'm doing the same job and end up saving more money at the end of the month compared to when I was in the UK. This is so , because the UK taxes you a lot on everything and the cost of living is absolutely tremendous. The houses are now impossible to buy too ! Tables have turned BIG TIME. UK is not what is used to be, and it has gone downhill extremely quickly. The country has SANK REALLY QUICK ! The only thing left about the UK is it's reputation , that is the true BIAS ! I'm sorry, but it is a terrible place to live unless if you come from a country like Sudan,India,Bangladesh etc etc. and can cope with the low standard of living OR if you are a millionaire (but that is applicable to pretty much anywhere). People aren't writing biased comments about the UK , they are just disappointed to see that a country they have invested in for years and years is now destroyed and will never improve. There is no future for people there and specially for their kids. If British people leave themselves to other countries - then this should tell you there is something really really wrong there ! I urge you to do a thorough research and speak to people that live or have lived there ! Do not take impulsive decision !!! I feel sorry for the people that will make the decision to move there.
Thanks again for your videos. Honestly we have a good life in the U.S. My current company has positions in the UK and, I have spent a few months in the UK as well as lived in Germany for 3+ years. I fell in love with Europe for the: - walkability - history - public transport. When I think of moving I honestly feel guilty. I explore the “what ifs” if I raised my kids here in the U.S. I need a sanity check on if exploring immigration is completely ridiculous based on the reasons I love Europe
Hi Thomas, I don't blame you. Europe has an allure of its own, which we fell for as well. I can't comment on Germany but I'm sure they'll love the UK. There is a lot to do for young families, schools are safe, public transport to most parts is good. Depending on where you're coming from in the US, the weather may or may not be to your liking, but overall, you'll most likely love it.

Net migration to the UK was over half a million last year. There's a huge housing shortage, public services are under extreme pressure, the transport network is overwhelmed, inflation is soaring. I wouldn't be encouraging anyone to move here
Thank you for making such informative videos, actually I'm in a dilemma whether to move to the UK or not, we both are working and settled in India with 2 kids. However, now we both got the offer from a company which is ready to sponsor a 5 year visa as well but we are not able to decide on this. We are mainly thinking about children's future , please share if actually children's education is good there ? Thanks, Subodh Singh
Hi Subodh. I can say this much. My son loves going to school. The education here is considered one of the best in the world and the focus is not just on mugging every word out of a text book. I’m sure you’ll love it here. And thank you for the kind words.
Hi Subodh, I have exactly same situation as yours. I also have two kids, and both of us were working in India in good companies with good salary. I also got 5 year visa and have moved to UK recently. My opinion is you should come to UK to experience life here, its very different compared to India. There are pros and cons but its worth experiencing, if you are getting opportunity. But for long long term how good it is can't say, because India is also not bad if you are earning well. In India we get many facilities so easily that we take them for granted, the value of those things can be understood only after coming to UK, and you can experience those yourself, no one can explain those. In terms of children's future we can't say if it was a good decision or not, will know only with time.
Please tell , if i do msc in management ... So will I get job in UK ? What happened if i don't got job and my loan became a burden this can screw my life !?

Hi Ashika, Thank you so much! Your videos are very informative. I need your help to make my decision. Actually I have very good offer from Cayman Island 135K USD (Taxfree) and one more from London is 80K GBP. Though the Cayman Island is tax heaven, its way high expensive (topmost in the world). But still I can save monthly 5000USD there. And in UK as per my search its 1800 to 2000 GBP/month. Which one will be better? Please reply. Thanks,
Having lived in the UK all my life and being a tax payer here for far too long, I can tell you based on the figures you've given that you're going to be much better off in the Cayman Islands (purely financial). Financially speaking there is no comparison, tax and ni alone will consume over £25k. Rent and utility bills £20-25k+ (depending on where in the city and accommodation type, although you could find a studio/1bed for around 15k incl. bills) not to mention travel costs, food, etc. I'm looking to move out, Cayman is on the list for sure.
Its really amazing and helpful i want to know if i migrate from UAE to UK what salary should i expect in UK if professionally m working in Sales/ Realitor. Thanks
UK offers me 75k pounds and I'll save not more than 12k pound a year. In India I save 24k pounds equivalent. I want to more to UK but cost of living is make me worse-off (at least I feel so), what you think?. I am really confused !
Hi Darshan, if you save more in India, it wouldn't makes sense with this offer to move. The cost of living is increasing so you'd ideally want to save more with uncertain times. Try to negotiate for a higher salary if possible.
@@AbsolutelyAshika I tried to negotiate with a higher salary with that's industry benchmark so it won't move much. Its very unfortunate for me that I need to leave a good learning experience as living and wealth creation is not sustainable in UK (not right now, not when compared to India). Plus some other indicators are worrisome too: 1. Unstable political environment 2. Regular strikes 3. NHS waiting list is at record high (some 7m) 4. Planed/ expected power outages. To a outside person (not in UK) this looks like a sinking ship and not worth it now. If I was younger and unmarried I might have taken this decision for long term career ambitions. But now with wife, kids in mind, this all seems to much of an adventure. What do you think?
If you're earning enough in India to save 24k your quality of life will be much better in India so I don't think it's worth moving. The same amount of money would give a much higher quality of life in India as in the UK there is a very high minimum wage (which is a good thing) so getting things like maids/cleaners, takeaways/delivery... Will be much more expensive
This is my Plan B, willing to move from Amritsar, Punjab, financially secure *God's grace*, my concern is of a job, better company and environment. Ashika ji, what would you recommend me?
UK is my country tough times does come internally & externally living with corrupted society & law is broken daily but solutions are here to become a powerful state
Hi ashika i am from Sri Lanka, my sister wants to send her daughter to UK for studies in this year, is it a good time or good idea? Also if she comes their her goal is to go for PR or work permit is it possible? Also can she find jobs?
Hi Thanuja, it honestly depends on what she plans on studying, the course, the University, her personal career goals etc. I can say that if she wants an ILR (like a PR), she'll have to be in the country for 5yrs before she can apply. A work permit is possible if she gets a job that offers sponsorship.
Hi Ashika, Your videos are absolutely insightful. I am new to your channel but have managed watching almost all videos relevant to me in a weeks time. I would like to know if your analysis can be applied to moving to Aberdeen in the Scotland, which move is completely sponsored by my company to move me along with my family and household. My major concern is about the growing inflation and the worsening economic crisis. I really appreciate our advise.
To add to the facts, I am currently living & working in Dubai with an oil & gas company since 15 years which company is shutting down in Dubai to relocate us to Aberdeen. Should I really consider this relocation at this time of crisis ? Really appreciate your advise
Hey there Sunanda. There is a huge Oil & Gas base in Aberdeen so a lot of similar companies are based out of there. The cost of living will be lower there. You can check this www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/in/Aberdeen and www.expatistan.com/cost-of-living/aberdeen. It is however pretty cold. But that might be nice change after Dubai right? At this point, having a job is better than no job. As long as the numbers work for you.
@@AbsolutelyAshika , thanks for your suggestion. I am looking forward for the change but worried for the ongoing economic crisis in UK. After having worked in a tax free zone, numbers with UK salaries seem hand to mouth :( which I can trade off with the work life balance as long as crisis does not impact my life. Not sure if you do know of any one providing an insight into life in Aberdeen, though not as incredible as your videos.
@@speaktosuni I lived and worked in Aberdeen for 3 years. It is a very grey, industrial city. If your priorities are career focused then it's worth looking at, but as a place to live it wasn't so nice in my opinion
Hi Vishhal, I definitely think moving would be a good decision for your child because it would give him brilliant exposure. He’ll obviously not want to leave his friends behind but I’m sure he’ll thank you some day.

Mass immigration is an absolute disaster for the British people. Not only is it horrible to be effectively a “foreigner” in one’s own country, the subsequent overpopulation makes so much of general life a misery. Driving for instance. It’s absolutely “normal” now to be stationary when driving on a motorway. In fact I now sometimes choose side-roads instead of a motorway. I can remember a time (I’m old) when people were proud to be British. And you could feel “at home” anywhere. Thats all gone now.
The investor visa has been cancelled in the UK. You can try and start up visa - www.gov.uk/start-up-visa or an innovator visa - www.gov.uk/innovator-visa
Hi Ashika, my company is located at Central London and they’re ready to provide Visa for me… so will a salary around 50k would be a decent salary. PS: I just watched your video and did my calculation but wanted to drop a msg to and ask. Finally, thanks for taking time and helping us with this needed info. Thanks.
Everything is relative. For someone coming from countries where the crime is much higher than in the UK, yes it is still low. Absolute numbers are bound to rise with increasing populations and increasing unemployment.
You did just not say " Low Crime rate"!I think the crime rate out in UK specifically in certain counties is extremely high. Right from burglary to stabbing and chain snatching, local junkies are walking in the open and there is no law and control. This country should rename itself as Broke Britain. I think you have been generous enough to speak well of UK. You missed out on the level of hypocrisy in employment where so called diversity is in full swing to promote African candidates as a way of saying sorry to them. Also, did you miss on racism? And finally, the absolutely wasted and useless NHS services.
Absolutely Ashika please I want you to sponsor my Visa to I need your WhatsApp number so that I can connect with my own scale is I can work as home care

Plus some other indicators are worrisome too:
1. Unstable political environment
2. Regular strikes
3. NHS waiting list is at record high (some 7m)
Hi anyone coming for a Jan intake at Sheffield Hallam University?

UK is my country tough times does come internally & externally living with corrupted society & law is broken daily but solutions are here to become a powerful state
Fingers crossed Usman!
Please note that I am currently living in Dubai and working for a Dubai based Oil & Gas company which is moving me to Aberdeen
Nice video, is it worth to move with 13 yrs old kid to UK?
Hi Vishhal, I definitely think moving would be a good decision for your child because it would give him brilliant exposure. He’ll obviously not want to leave his friends behind but I’m sure he’ll thank you some day.
@@AbsolutelyAshika Still in dilemma to bring him... Let's see... Thanks for reply

That’s flawed economic logic about recession.
I just need some money as early as possible about 4 cr
When you find some, let me know. I'd like some too.
How much I need for investment visa
The investor visa has been cancelled in the UK. You can try and start up visa - www.gov.uk/start-up-visa or an innovator visa - www.gov.uk/innovator-visa
Hi Ashika, my company is located at Central London and they’re ready to provide Visa for me… so will a salary around 50k would be a decent salary.
PS: I just watched your video and did my calculation but wanted to drop a msg to and ask. Finally, thanks for taking time and helping us with this needed info. Thanks.
Hi Vishnu, depends on whether you’ll be living alone and whether you’ll be living in London or outside. And thank you for the kind words!
@@AbsolutelyAshika Thanks for the reply Ashika. I'll be alone and mostly be living outside as it's a hybrid mode of work.

Omg guys I left the UK. Because absolutely not worth it 🙂
Hi there. Would you like to share why?
I really am just trying to get away.
Things are that bad?
Hello Dear Madam 💐
Hi Irfan, thank you for watching.
Madam Please Help Me 🙏💞
Is it still low in crime? Because I see the numbers of unemployment increasing twice
Everything is relative. For someone coming from countries where the crime is much higher than in the UK, yes it is still low. Absolute numbers are bound to rise with increasing populations and increasing unemployment.
Intelligent
South Africa is bad so for me the UK is the best option 😊
Hey there, crime rate?
You did just not say " Low Crime rate"!I think the crime rate out in UK specifically in certain counties is extremely high. Right from burglary to stabbing and chain snatching, local junkies are walking in the open and there is no law and control. This country should rename itself as Broke Britain. I think you have been generous enough to speak well of UK. You missed out on the level of hypocrisy in employment where so called diversity is in full swing to promote African candidates as a way of saying sorry to them. Also, did you miss on racism? And finally, the absolutely wasted and useless NHS services.

Hi Irfan, thank you for watching.
High on safety ? Lol...are you joking ?
I’ve been here a year and never had any safety challenges. I don’t think a lot of people from different countries have the luxury of saying that
