    Premium hay requires perfection in hay making and the weather is beating you up. Only a haymaker understands your woes. We’re in lower Michigan and the Great Lakes effect determines our schedule of hay making. 500 tons per season of premium is a scary weather schedule.

    Thanks for another interesting video that was enjoyable. First of all my feedback on the rain. I totally undierstand your thoughts on the current weather changes. In your case too much rain damages a hay crop. Where most crops like a fair amount of rain for growth. Do understand your situation on rain versus hay. Hang in there Treavor.
    Appreciate your tour of the equipment you use. It is so different from the corn and soybeans farm which is me in Iowa. My favorite piece you have is the squeeze. That is a unique piece of equipment for sure. I am amazed when you operate the levers on the fly and make it look so easy. About it for now I guess. You take care and I hope your weather is better for the hay. Take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks. The Iowa farm boy from years ago.

      I’ve been operating squeezes for 20 years now!!! It’s crazy, makes me feel old. So it’s like second nature I guess. The levers aren’t even the tricky part. Moving stacks around that aren’t tied down is the real challenge. They fall apart if you hit a big bump. Turn too fast. Thanks for watching!!

    • @BalesHayFarmandRanch
      @BalesHayFarmandRanch  3 роки тому

      Our water table is very very shallow. 15 to 20 we hit water, and a LOT of it. It’s extremely salty though. We also get water from city water treatment plant, so we’re recycling water. We might lose a very small amount. However, other irrigation districts are losing a lot more!

    That 9430 only has 425hp. But hearing you call a engine a motor is disturbing. Perhaps your a big Tesla fan of the motors which are driven by batteries whereas a engine is operated on diesel, gasoline, or propane.

    • @BalesHayFarmandRanch
