This is the best advice on reading music I have found on UA-cam (or anywhere else for that matter). Most teachers start with 'Every greeedy boy digests fudge' (or whatever it is!). Straight away, I thought 'hang on a minute' piano players cant be doing this *and* playing at the same time. This (and the previous) video are the key that unlocks the door for me. In addition to this, your manner is perfect in encouraging beginners, enthusiastic, clear and welcoming. You are left thinking 'yeah, I can do that'. What I would *really* like to see is a full course from you on playing piano and reading music - something where you can take a little more time - and slow down a bit (at the moment you sound like someone who is teaching piano and falling down the stairs at the same time). If you organise all of you material and sell it on your own site, or on something like Udemy, put me down for the first copy!
To ALL NEW LEARNERS! Piano PATH WILL SET YOU STRAIGHT! You can't go wrong with Brianne! Thanks for helping all learners, Brianne and Piano Path! I am still a puzzle but missing pieces..lol
I agree with you for the most part in your approach to reading. But there are a few more things missing that should be mentioned that will make a world of a difference for the beginning pianist. I know it is better to stay away from rote memorizing; it is not the most effective way to practice-it lacks connections to the whole understanding of music....

I'd love to have you tell me what you think of the way I teach piano. Brianne teaches so well.... I just say "hey, here's a song, let's play it.". Check it out and let me know what you think. - Ben
Thanks for the comment, but I like keeping it fast and upbeat in order to keep people’s attention. Lots of other channels with slower lessons, so I hope you’re able to find one that works for you 😊
Totally agree, as someone who edits for radio, I needed a lie-down after listening to this … sad, as there might have been some good advice here… I didn’t have time to digest the info … off to Pianote… good ol’ Lisa Witt 😊🐝🎹 For the fast listeners I’ve re-edited: Totallyagree,assomeonewhoeditsforradio,Ineededalie-downafterlisteningtothis.sad,astheremighthavebeensomegoodadvucehere.Ididn’thavetimetodigesttheinfo.offtoPianote.goodolLisaWitt. Not only read, but most importantly, is to play! Finally, so right!

great Lesson~
Thanks for sharing~~:)
You're so kind! Thank you :) Do you play piano?
Wow, now this was interesting. I find that so many piano teachers get you down the FACE acronym and similar and that alone does not work
Listen at .75 speed
Súper helpful thx
You were made to make UA-cam videos teaching piano!! This is AWESOME 🙌🏻
That might be one of the nicest comments I've ever gotten

This girl is speaking in semiquaver velocity.
ive been playing piano for 3 years and i still dont know how to read music sheets
Haha it’s fine, there’s still lots you can do without knowing how to read sheet music! I assume you like using chords??
We actually need the spaces between the sentences. With the over editing it is quite tiring to focus on what you are saying.
