@@Owl-meoww to me included. I indeed carry middle eastern blood and love the feel of the accord, I baby mine because I love it as the choice car that I own, and have owned previously before. But that 8th generation has some of the most responsive handling for a full sized sedan. I used to own one and absolutely adored it. Now I own a 7th generation of the same trim and engine, the 2.4 (no not as powerful as a V6 but I've still gotten some good performance from it.) And I don't take it for granted because it is also highly popular here in America, being the first of its class every generation. So it's very rare to get a fairly cheap one but not impossible either. Still worth the buck especially if you find one with a sunroof, that works. 😜

This is basically what I have been doing with a 1997 Toyota Camry. I got the car for free (it needed the timing belt, engine/trans mounts, brakes, tires, suspension, etc done) from a co-worker's mom who was the original owner. It is a very straight, nice car with great factory paint (white.) The interior looks like it has 40k miles on it, save the driver side door panel which shows more wear. Ice cold A/C too. I have done all the mechanical work needed (it has 188k miles.) I also cut/buff/corrected the paint (Not quite Templin spec - but it came back really nice.) I am in process of doing a bunch of sound deadening, and after the cleaned interior goes back in - I am going to discreetly install a great stereo. I replaced / realigned all the window regulators and polished the glass - and will have it all tinted. Then will figure out a wheel/tire/ride-height combo and it will be my under-the-radar-cruiser/daily. I have newer cars, but something about the late 80s-late-90s cars like Toyotas for me is the sweet spot of comfortable. The interiors and abundance of visibility / glass just makes them the best IMO. Great work bring back the Van!

I didn't buy OEM parts - but I didn't buy the cheapest of the cheap either. I basically stuck with quality brands I knew (Bosch, Moog, etc.) I still need to do tires on it (they are 20 years old.) I have less than 2k into it parts wise. Car just cruises at 85mph on the freeway getting 30+ miles to the gallon.

Parents bought one of these when my sister was born and I was three and it carried the family to countless trips. Some decade and a half later it ended up being my first vehicle to use to get around, as well as for my sister three years later. Later on it ended up being used to pick up my first bits of music kit, and got my band to our first show. I've got a lot of sentimental love for these things and smile when I see them around. That van was tough as hell too. I did the 1MZ no favors during my teen years but it never slowed down. No burnt oil, no misfires, nothing.

Minivans honestly are both sleeper hits and (once upon a time) extremely popular. SUV's have taken the public eye, but consider this about minivans vs SUV's, sports coupes, trucks, and sedans:
They're not lookers... so they have some of the lowest theft or even break-ins.
Lower cost than SUV's in many comparisons.
Lower center of gravity, smoother ride quality than SUVs or Trucks.
With the seats folded or removed, more (weather protected) cargo hauling room than a Ford F150
Sliding doors = easier access in tighter spaces, easier loading of containers and wide things, no door dings in 2-car garages.
More fun for road trips and spontaneous car camping adventures than sedans or sports cars (at least, when distance and views are the goal more than windy roads and acceleration).
More likely to make friends and earn favors in exchange for hauling help.
Hybrid minivans can get like 35 mpg city/highway fuel efficiency.
So, don't think of them as an inevitable box for family needs, think of them for having "So much space for activities!!" My dad had Fords and Chryslers, and they were like affordable land yachts!

Goes to show how much you can do with just creativity, a bunch of tools, a phone with a 4K camera and a lot of willpower. This 25 years old dude from Southeast Brazil thanks you from the bottom of his heart.
You brought me back so many memories from my childhood, since the times I was 6 and played Ridge Racer Type 4 on PS1 around 2005 thinking it was the best thing in the world, to the current days where I work on my old Junkers. Your garage background and slow music remind me so much of Ridge Racer Type 4 first menus where you'd select your teams and car makers that I almost cried from the nostalgia. Since I'm not American I don't really get the part about wet sanding the old van being silly, to me any car being detailed carefully like you did is worth praise regardless of make, price range or overall condition. You weren't kidding on the title when you said I'd Want to buy a Sienna after this video, you really made me want one, this was the best 90's car ad ever! (If you get the joke). I also got the vibe of those Need For Speed Underground 2 menus with this kind of calm music sounding like "Riders on the Storm" and such.
The Transformation even reminded me of Need For Speed Underground 1 intro where the Mitsubishi Eclipse goes through a mechanical and visual transformation.
Please do make more of those videos with mostly music and restoring and less talking. I'd love to watch that. You just got a new subscriber. If I ever get to visit America, I want to shake your hand for everything you did for your subscribers and myself.

I still see so many on the road. It even looks like it still has the original alternator. Always starts even after sitting for weeks.

The YT algorithm knows what I wanna see LOL. Japanese cars from this era are some of my favorite cars on the road. I'm not gonna pretend they're better than modern cars, simplicity is a double edged sword, but maybe it's just nostalgia. Maybe the chill easygoing styling. Maybe the accessibility and affordability, the reliability and that comes with less complexity of design be it for emissions or safety. I can't be 100% sure, but what I can say is it's nice to see an old Sienna get some love, AND all the people in the comments as happy as me. Great video, subbed

I just bought a 1999 and this video was in my previous watched history- so I’d say you won. lol
I love it, the owner kept a very strict maintenance service schedule and I was looking over it and it has a power steering leak and it needs new rear brakes. It’s been intensely well taken care of. I hope that I can love it just as much as they did. I’ve never seen someone stand in one spot and look at a car for a moment or two and know exactly what was going through their mind.
They raised their kids with it, took long road trips with it and according to the mileage it’s been driven to the moon and could probably go back without much fuss.
I’m kind of floored and awe struck by how insanely well built these vans are. I just got it today so we’ll see how it goes- but oddly enough, I trust it.
Put full coverage on it and now just gotta get the bugs worked out.
This was literal therapy watching this again as a new owner of a now 25 year old Toyota Minivan.
I just got it and I am absolutely smitten with it. I probably did scare the daylights out of the owners during the test drive though. lol 😂
    Greetings from Colorado Springs.

I have so many questions when I watch these videos. How did he learn to do such high quality detailing, restoration, mechanic work, and on top of all that, video editing. Why is he putting so much work into an old Toyota minivan? Is it his? Will he keep it or is it for a customer? Is there something about this old van that he really likes and has been wanting to restore one for a while? All I do know is that his work is immaculate. It is the pinnacle of thoroughness in your work that I’ve never even gotten close to reaching. I do great detail work, but only to the average person. Everytime I detail a car and the person says “wow it looks incredible, it looks as good as when it was new!”, I want to say back “I am not a pro, there are guys out there that would make me look like a monkey with my Autozone buffer and Walmart detailing chemicals.” 😂 This is the level I aspire to get to one day. But the amount of time, learning, and resources in terms of equipment and a shop between me and this guy is immense. It’ll be a decade at least before I get there

Man that was great. Such a beauty with the painted bumpers and all the touch ups. Great job man. Glad to hear you did the timing belt because that’s what I was thinking about the whole time I was watching the video I didn’t read that you had replaced it until after the video was over ha ha ha. I had two of these a 2001 XLe with leather sunroof and terrible power doors. It was the same color green then the next year in 2020 I bought another 2001 same green but an LE. This one was my favorite. I bought it from the Toyota dealership from the head service mechanic who happened to be a 60 year old Japanese man. It was his personal vehicle. He had gone through it top to bottom just like you did I love that van loved it so much But times change and I look back and have regret of ever selling it
