When you transform you have to wait the whole time to switch again. I think it’s kind of dumb but also I’m sure that helps balancing healing with people who heal after transforming some. Idk

Present Gohan lost his immense power after the cell saga, gains it back from the old Kai, loses it again after buu just to get a contrived power-up for the TOP and movies. To put it simply future gohan is a warrior, present gohan isn't.
@Yaliso you can say the same about raditz and nappa, but one is over hyped, he most just started training because if you look at the Android Saga, if gohan train that full 13 years and still this weak, while teen gohan and future trunks train a single year and was over 10x stronger. It either bad writing or he had no training, because never stated that you can say he maintained some strength from zenkai boost from losing to the Androids on repeat because how and where would he train the Android Are a consistent threat, we only see him train with trunks after trunks said he wanted to help, all we see Is gohan leaving to fight the Android consistently, if I remember correctly,
