      My father who has been a firefighter for 29 years, who goes on car wrecks almost daily, says modern car safety measures have almost entirely eliminated car fatalities, as long as you *wear* *your* *dang* *seatbelt* and don't get in a head-on collision on a freeway or with a semi, bus, etc.

      It's not a complete free for all.
      Parts of the Autobahn have no speed limit, not all of them.
      And: if you are involved in an accident where you are doing a speed greatly in excess of what the others were doing, you automatically get partially blamed and your insurance will tell you to pound sand.

      Some states are more, some states are even less than that, where I’m at it’s 26 mph goes from speeding to reckless and arrestable. I think twenty five is pretty well the base line though.

    He’s doing what I wish I could do in my area. I’m so tired of seeing people doing 60 in the 45 areas on our main road. Both places are commercial and residential mixed. Both have a lot of grocery stores and Walmart. But everyone drives like they’re going to get locked out by their parents if they don’t get home asap. It’s getting out of control and the local PD and state cops don’t seem to care
