These are really great, thank you! I have a 3 and a half mo old Aussie and she's giving me a run for my money! I happened upon you 5 mo video first and then went back and watch the 3 and 4 mo pupdates and they have *already helped Poppy and me. I wish I would have found your videos right when we got her at 8 weeks, but I'm so glad to have found them now. Thanks again.
Aww yay!! So so glad they’ve been helpful!! After this I started a separate channel for doggo content - Freya & Beyla (I just got an 8 week old golden retriever 🥳🥳) so there will be more pupdates and training videos over on that channel! 💛💛💛
I'm amazed you had the time to make and edit these videos. I work in A/V and editing is no joke. You're a fantastic trainer as well. We're getting a puppy this weekend and are finding your VLOG's a great way to learn. Thank you.
8:38 OMG, the thinking moment "wait wait, what does mommy want me to do now …" and then she RUNS to her place is sooo adorable! Monthly puppdates I would totally watch
Your puppy is so adorable! The Aussies will always be go go go! Being a working dogs she’s gonna need tons of exercise to wear her down. You have done such an amazing job of training her!
This is so amazing to see! We’re actually getting our own mini Aussie in 2 weeks and we’re so excited! I love seeing these tips on how to train this specific breed 😁😁
Thank you for these videos. It gave me an insight of what it is to have an Aussie pup and now that I got my puppy I am taking some of your tips. The hand signals worked for me better than I expected as the doggy still struggles with vocal commands but does hand signals perfectly. It's a very nice thing for him to know whenever it's noisy and it keeps him focused on my and my hands instead of distractions.
17:03 I just saw Freya run across the room it was so cute I kept watching it over and over again. She has grown so much! Y’all are going to be such good parents. Freya is so adorable and lucky to have y’all!🥰❤️
You did an amazing job with training, its hard to believe he is only 3 months. My wife and I have a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd, his parents just had another litter, so now he will have a little brother to play with and help train, next month.
Awww! I haven't watched your channel in so long and its good to watch cute little freya as a small pup! (She is still so cute) I hope I can watch your videos more if I have time 🤗❤

Omg! Aussies really are so smart! Training my 11 week old aussie has been so fun! She catches on so quickly when training her❤❤ I would love some training videos!
Wow, we have a lot in common. I feel like I just watched a video about my future self! I work from home for a bike shop with multiple locations and I am about to get a Border Collie Pup (not an Aussie, I know... but still super similar). Thanks for the vid. I enjoy getting to relate and can't wait to be a dog mom again.
She’s getting to be so well trained! The only recommendation I have is the word you use for “wait” is “stay” which you also use for a true stay. Wait is for when you want her to wait before doing something! Totally up to you, just an experience I had with my Aussie when we were training!
Thank you so much for addressing the "bad" side of having a puppy because i gad puppy blues for the first month i had my dog and i really feel good now that i know i am not a bad dog owner for not wanting my dog all day and wanting breaks
❤️❤️ you are doing amazing and you are not alone. Until Freya was 4 months old I honestly HATED her lol. in the nicest way possible of course. I cried everyday and I hated being with her and as soon as Griffin got home I didn't want to see her or be around her anymore. The puppy stage is ROUGH and the puppy blues are a REAL THING!!! It gets better I promise! ❤️ now she's my bestie and honestly sometimes look back and get sad about the "missed" times I had in her puppy stage because I was so stressed and sad ❤️ enjoy the ups and downs of this stage, it won't last long!!
My aussie turned 3 months a week ago. Its fun to see how far other people are at the same point. I also follow my dogs brothers and sisters on insta but they dont share the shitty and frustrating parts so really thank you for these videos.
Hi there! Absolutely love your videos, they have been so helpful for our preparation for bringing our pup home. I’m wondering if you could do a video on how you trained Freya to not bite you or on other things in the home? And maybe also to stop her from jumping up on you/other people. Thanks so much 👏🏻
Here's what we did with Freya: whenever she would bite/nip us we would use our correction word, which is “ah-ah-ah” and if she stopped biting, even for a second, we would praise and give treats and continue play with her. If she didn't stop biting then we would offer her a toy to redirect her behavior to and if she took the toy instead of continuing to bite us, we would praise and give treats and continue to play. Sometimes (of course) she wouldn't stop biting even for a toy, and in that case we would stand up and physically remove ourselves from her. We would go behind our baby gate and turn our back to her and ignore her until she calmed down, laid down, or started playing with a toy on her own and when she did we one of those things we would praise and give treats and come back to play. It definitely was A LOT of standing up and leaving, sitting down, then standing right back up in the beginning (it’s exhausting and annoying). But you gotta be consistent and do it EVERY TIME for them to learn quicker! Don't do it sometimes and not others, or they’ll get confused on ~when~ it’s okay to bite, when it should be NEVER okay to bite. It definitely still took some time for her to learn this (it probably wasn't until 4 months old that she totally stopped) but it would DRASTICALLY decrease the amount of times she would bite us AND decrease the amount of time it took for us to get her to stop biting us when she did. It's also recognizing that biting is how dogs explore the world and with teething being painful, all they want to do is chomp lmao. So giving them toys of different textures, hardness, taste, size, etc. to spend time chewing is important! So definitely give your dog things they CAN chew and LOVE chewing. This is just how we taught her what she can and can’t chew on. I hope that's helpful!!! In the end, it honestly just takes time. It won't stop in a week, or probably even two. Once they lose their baby teeth those behaviors usually fall off, but being consistent will help this process go quicker! GOOD LUCK!
This video was suggested and I looooved every second of It. Something about your personality and how cute the pup is mad me subscribe! I have a new pup myself and oh boy they are a handful. I’m recording every second of him so I can look back lolll
Loved this video! I also WFH. What do you do with your puppy while you are working? I feel so bad leaving my puppy in the crate while I work in the office (I take her out every 1 or 2 hours for the bathroom and a quick 5 min play session and for 30 min lunch break) I would love to get her a little puppy play pen so she has more space but she’s not potty trained and I worry about her going to the bathroom in the play space. Really enjoying your channel 👍🏼
We had her on a schedule as a puppy where she alternated between nap times & play/training times (usually 2 hour naps and then 1 hour awake when she was teeny tiny, and then that changed to 2 on and 2 off, and then to 3 on and 2 off, etc. as she got bigger!) My WFM schedule is pretty fluid so I was able to do it like that. ❤️
8:00am? Lucky! My 11 week old mini aussie girlie wakes me up at about 5:30-6:30. She's getting better at going back to sleep for another hour or two though
I love your videos. My aussie just turned 3 months old. Can i ask you how often you bathe your dog? Mine gets stinky after only 4 days after bath and I'm trying to bathe him every 7 days. Thanks!
as puppies I was giving baths like WEEKLY I don't know hahaha they were always dirty and stinky. But now as adult dogs, it's SO RARE they get baths. Only if they're physically covered in mud or something. For me, it was kind of an age thing they grew out of!
Me and my wife just got a 8 week Aussie, today is his first night sleeping in the cage. Whimpering and crying and then goes back to sleep, where did you buy that grass pad on your patio? I find that puppy pads are hard for him to work with! Thankyou very much
Hey Marissa I love your puppy videos! I just got my 8 week old Aussiedoodle yesterday. She has a lot of energy and she’s not fully vaccinated yet so I’m trying to find other ways to stimulate her and help burn some of that energy. If you have any ideas or what you did that would be great!
Hello. I am new to your channel. New pup mom here. Your videos have been so helpful. Do you have a specific video of your training your pup with commands. This one shows some of it but did you record when he first started ? Thank you. I love your channel btw
I have a few NEWER videos with my Golden Retriever puppy teaching her how to sit and touch etc. they're in a PUPPY playlist on my channel with all of my doggo videos
Another one of my favorite youtubers lauryn doan also recently got a golden retriever puppy about the same time, and idk why but it’s been very interesting to see different dogs and experiences with a puppy.
I binged every video from Rachel Fusaro and Zak George!!! theyre AMAZING!! also Fenrir Canine! I would highly recommend watching and following them on all socials!
We recently just got an 11 week old Australian Shepherd puppy and she is still not learning how to potty train. It's difficult when she's already learned bad habits from her previous house.
i go to pick up my australian shepherd (she is also a blue merle) on may 15th and before i found your page we were also thinking of the name freya lol. these videos have been so helpful omg :)))
Wow you are such an amazing trainer!! Could you please do a detailed video on how you trained her? I will have my Aussie baby in two weeks and I want her to be well trained like Freya 🥰
I also wanted to know if you could tell us how much you have been feeding since she has been home? I am getting my first AS and will be training her to be my service dog. :)
Hi Marissa, I commented on your last video saying I was getting a dog 3 Sunday’s ago,I have got my dog now and I just would like some advice on puppy biting. Thank you
AHHH CONGRATS!!! 💞 we practiced a lot of LEAVE IT with toys and treats first, becuase essentially you can transfer the LEAVE IT command to biting so when she's biting you can say LEAVE IT and she'll stop. Also just a loud ah-ah-ah and removing yourself from her can help a ton. whenever she bites correct the behavior and redirect her behavior to something she CAN bite and chew. like a toy. that way she learns, oh I CANT bite mom and dad, but I CAN bike my toys. :) I hope that is helpful!!
Have you trained dogs for a living? You’re A+++ at it! Amazing. I just got an 8week Mini American Shepherd and can’t begin to know how you taught all that in a few weeks!!! Love to know who you got your training know how from?
ahh OMG thank you SO much!!! We bought Fenrir's Perfect Puppy Course as our main training tool, but I also BINGED all of Rachel Fusaro and Zak George's youtube videos for training help too!! they're both AMAZING! 💗💗
How did you train her to ring the bell for potty? because i have taught my puppy to do that well im still training her but she keeps just playing with the bell as if its one of her toys do you have any tips to get him to stop?
I just found out about your channel! You are doing great with her! She is so cute! I'm so close from having a puppy as well but am too scared to annoy my neighbors as I live in an apartment... I know all pups are different but is she noisy? I don't have that impression!
omg thank you so much!! 💙 She was noisy her first few days (to be expected) but once she knew that her crying wasn't going to get anything she doesn't do it much. every now and again she'll whine softly but not her yelping screaming crying that she did in the beginning on her first night.
can we get a training video my pup also has aussie blood in her and i want to know how your dealing with the biting and nipping and chomps and also just crate training her and other cool tricks
Freya is so well trained and awesome at potty training. Potty training has been my biggest issue with my puppy. I know this isn't the puppy's fault, and it is mainly mine because I don't have the ability to watch him every hour on the dot! :(
Hey! Just wanted to give a little heads up that those Zuke’s treats have been recalled for mold! I would dispose of them, so sad, Zuke’s were one of our faves.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how good of a trainer you are. Like honestly better than most paid trainers!

@@MyDriftingDesk ok but that's the best thing i heard today , thank you sooo much ❤️
My aussie turned 3 months a week ago. Its fun to see how far other people are at the same point.
I also follow my dogs brothers and sisters on insta but they dont share the shitty and frustrating parts so really thank you for these videos.
always gotta share the shitty parts too hahaha ❤️ so glad you enjoyed!
Thank you for this! I currently have a 9 week old puppy and the struggle is so real😅 it’s cute watching Freya grow❤️
It's HARDDDD I hated the first 2 weeks, but it DOES get better! 💙
Such a good pup! Your so amazing at training her!! xx
thank you SO much! 💜
That was just so funny when your husband/boyfriend/friend came in your room in the exercise time 😂
hahaha 😂😂
Marissa your dog awww she's so cute like how are you two are all adorables ahh like im obsessed with your channel girl because you are incredible
thank you so much!
What a great training 😍 now i understand how much time she is claiming😅 are you guys still moving in a few months?
ughhh literally ALL of my time these days lol
yes we are!
GOOD LUCK!
Awesome training you have done. And a gorgeous pup!
thank you SO much! ❤️
I’m getting an Aussie pup this summer hopefully and I am SO EXCITED!! Your videos about Freya are super helpful :))
AHHH SO EXCITING!!!! 💙 I'm so glad my videos have been helpful! :)
This video was suggested and I looooved every second of It. Something about your personality and how cute the pup is mad me subscribe! I have a new pup myself and oh boy they are a handful. I’m recording every second of him so I can look back lolll
omg thank you so much!! ❤️ I've been taking pictures and recording EVERYDAY too hahahah she's growing so fast!!!
She’s so gorgeous!
Would be awesome if you could do a video on how to train puppy to ring the bell for potty training!
omg I totally can!! 💙 thanks for the suggestion!
Such a sweet and adorable pup!
Thank you! 😊♥️♥️
Thank you! My Aussie hates putting on his harness! I’ll try those
omg of course!! I hope it's helpful!! 💓
She's getting better at going back to sleep for another hour or two though
oh noo!! I hope you get more sleep soon! ❤️
She’s so big now! 🥺😭
RIGHT??!?!?!
Me and my wife just got a 8 week Aussie, today is his first night sleeping in the cage. Whimpering and crying and then goes back to sleep, where did you buy that grass pad on your patio? I find that puppy pads are hard for him to work with! Thankyou very much
www.amazon.com/dp/B002DCWA4C?ref=exp_marissanicole_dp_vv_d this is the Pet Loo we got for the porch!!
First of all kudos on that work out second your dog is amazing 😍
thank you so much!! 💕
I can't believe this was just 3 months ago! She was so little
right?!?! she is growing so fast omg
I have a video on how to socialize (which also tires them out) your puppy before their vaccinated! Check my Freya playlist! I hope that's helpful! ❤️
freya is soo cute. i love the signs you use when ur teaching her tricks so cute
😊 thank you so much!! 💙
Congratulations she's so beautiful I want a 4th one now like Freya she's so cute and well behaved especially when playing and eating
I appreciate that!!! she definitely has her awful tendencies hahah
I'm about to get mu Ausie upend was wondering where you got the crate
I don't know what its called sorry
It's linked in the description box, in my Amazon Storefront :) ❤️
Hi Marissa ☺️
Love your videos!
Would you be able to do a more detailed video on how you taught Freya ‘heal’.
Thank-you!
yes I can!! It'll be over on her channel!! it's called Freya the Floof!!! ❤️
Your puppy training skills are on point!
ahh thank you SO much! ❤️
Another one of my favorite youtubers lauryn doan also recently got a golden retriever puppy about the same time, and idk why but it’s been very interesting to see different dogs and experiences with a puppy.
awww they're adorable!! but it is cool to see because every dog is so different! 💙
This helps because I’m soon to get one and I’ve been looking for someone to show how it would be so thank you ❤️❤️
❤️❤️ yay!! so glad it was helpful!
Hi, are you watching any training videos? We are getting our puppy next week.
I binged every video from Rachel Fusaro and Zak George!!! theyre AMAZING!! also Fenrir Canine! I would highly recommend watching and following them on all socials!
I love love love seeing your routine with her and pupdates like vlogs! Kisses from Brazil ♥️
omg yay!! so happy to hear! ♥️
OMG HOW EXCITING!!!! ❤️
She is so smart!!!!!
❤️❤️ TOO smart hahah
Omg i wanna dog for my b day and i Hope she will be like this ur like my fav youtuber
♥️ HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Wow you are such an amazing trainer!! Could you please do a detailed video on how you trained her? I will have my Aussie baby in two weeks and I want her to be well trained like Freya 🥰
thank you so much! 🧡
I definitely can dive deeper!
I also wanted to know if you could tell us how much you have been feeding since she has been home? I am getting my first AS and will be training her to be my service dog. :)
4:28 I talk about how much we've been feeding her :)
how did you know what tricks to train in advance of situations? Do you have a guide or something?
Zak George has some great videos for this!
YES! I watched a TON of his videos to prep for Freya, he's super helpful!
I was told 3x a day until 6 months and they need about 3 cups a day of food. I pick up my baby Saturday he is 12 weeks already!
Every doggo and breed is a bit different. Whatever your vet tells you should be good! :) I hope you're so excited about your new pup!!
@@MyDriftingDesk Very excited!
from where is her harness can u pls put a link from where you got it
Where did you get her crate? I’m getting an Aussie Saturday 🥰
Amazon! I have it linked in my Amazon shop! check the description box for the link and it's in the puppy section folder!
I LOVE THE PUP VIDS PLS DO MORE sending love ❤️
another one hopefully coming today! ❤️
Hi Marissa,
I commented on your last video saying I was getting a dog 3 Sunday’s ago,I have got my dog now and I just would like some advice on puppy biting.
Thank you
AHHH CONGRATS!!! 💞
we practiced a lot of LEAVE IT with toys and treats first, becuase essentially you can transfer the LEAVE IT command to biting so when she's biting you can say LEAVE IT and she'll stop.
Oh Marissa she’s so big!
I knowwwww. growing up so fast!
Wow such a good job training!
wow thank you so much! 💜
How did you train her to ring the bell for potty? because i have taught my puppy to do that well im still training her but she keeps just playing with the bell as if its one of her toys do you have any tips to get him to stop?
there's a video on how I taught it on my channel! Look in the Freya the Floof playlist! ❤️
Love your video. Where did you get the white gate from?
Amazon!! It's linked in my storefront - in the description ❤️
@@MyDriftingDesk thank you! I found your puppy haul video and promptly bought everything you suggested. Love your videos!
Grass product? Real or fake grass for potty? I need details lol coz I live in an apartment but with balcony.
It's called the porch potty! It's linked in my amazon storefront in the description box
@@MyDriftingDesk Thank you so much! imma look into it.
I just found out about your channel! You are doing great with her! She is so cute! I'm so close from having a puppy as well but am too scared to annoy my neighbors as I live in an apartment... I know all pups are different but is she noisy? I don't have that impression!
omg thank you so much!! 💙
She was noisy her first few days (to be expected) but once she knew that her crying wasn't going to get anything she doesn't do it much. every now and again she'll whine softly but not her yelping screaming crying that she did in the beginning on her first night.
can we get a training video my pup also has aussie blood in her and i want to know how your dealing with the biting and nipping and chomps and also just crate training her and other cool tricks
I'd love to!! I'll try and make something soon! :) 💙
@@MyDriftingDesk awesome 🥺🤍🖐🏼
She’s so old! Also first comment and like ayyyy
💜💜💜
Love that crate. Got my pup at 3 months and have already slept thru the night. She became a barker so trying to fix that 🤦🏻♀️
gotta love when they find their voice lol
Where is your black jacket from ? It’s super cute
I actually found it at Cost-Co!!
Freya is so well trained and awesome at potty training. Potty training has been my biggest issue with my puppy. I know this isn't the puppy's fault, and it is mainly mine because I don't have the ability to watch him every hour on the dot! :(
potty training is tough!! but you got this!
Hey! Just wanted to give a little heads up that those Zuke’s treats have been recalled for mold! I would dispose of them, so sad, Zuke’s were one of our faves.
WHAT oh nooo. thanks for letting me know!! Ugh, those ones are usually so good!! so disappointing!
Can you make a video how to train a Australian shepherd? I’m getting a mini Australian shepherd soon
I would love to touch on some of the ways I've trained her! 💜
I have a mini Aussiedoodle and he’s 5 months but seems sooooooooo much more hyper but is as smart as yours
oh Freya can be a little DEVIL hahahah.
