Oh the dreaded 5 mins job that turn into 5 hours and it’s unbelievable certain customers who will say “ oh sure it’s only a small job” and that jinxes you from the start. It helps massively when you can isolate the toilet at the supply and not have to clamber into the loft where there’s more stuff there than an Amazon warehouse. Well done Mark excellent video these are great to watch to see how you deal with the myriad problems plumbers face on a daily basis. Your a credit to your trade.

If I can identify the flush syphons I always just replaced the top part rather than the whole cradle mount as it saves time and a cheaper job for the customer. As long as it's nice and tight and not leaking I always carry a siamp optima 50 and fluid master push button as they seem to be the most common for me.

Silicone is good, but personally takes 24 hours to set , really waste my time if , you willing to wait 24 hours 😂 basin mate is cheaper than a silicone itself, it’s a bastard to install tho , but don’t need to wait for 24 hours , that’s where you got a winner, and in some vanity units where chippys doesn’t care about plumbers, all the cuts done for a basin they left barely space for silicone tube to seal it under , and you got flexis and waste pipes in the way , only one way doing it is lifting whole basin up 🙈 just for a waste , and that’s where basin mate safe the all trouble 😅

those tapped kits have shot up in price. i got one last year for around £140.95 now £156.50 from same seller. plumb2u they took ages to send out. i was looking forward to using it a few weeks back on a heritage basin tap replacement, but none of the bits fitted i think it was a 14mm and set only covers 13mm
