1:55 - I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought the straight fire breath attack was broken. How many times I got hit by that stupid attack at the beginning and it seems the fire was just bouncing off of shit to hit me. Great video, love the pointers!
Beat him last night and I’m literally here to see the frames for that second phase strafe attack, but holy shit the devs really just added a special fuck you and good luck with that bouncy rng lightning. Would’ve died if I didn’t clutch up my physick (half health back and the negate damage pot), instincts saved me like if it doesn’t matter on skill then what’re we doing here
this video rules ! the "false opening" thing with the lightning slams really helped me understand openings a lot better and beat this guy no summons. appreciate the concise explanations
I wish I could send this video to all the people I've been trying to assist with this fight. The critical hit part is a huge damage loss because I see most people either trigger the critical immediately, fail to be near his head, or get too greedy and try to hit two fully charged AoWs on his head. Didn't know that one AoE was able to be jumped over. I dodged it once that way but thought it was just an error in the hitbox. I'll add that many of his fire attacks aren't that damaging if blocked, even the final flying fire attack mentioned. Now granted, I had above-average fire defense from my armor (Scaled Set), the +3 Flamedrake talisman, and like a +16 Brass Shield. A character build that can invest in wearing heavier armor and wielding a greatshield with higher fire defense and guard boost can probably tank those better than I could. That said, I only felt the need to block as a last resort as I've gotten good at dodging his moves when I've been summoned for Bayle. Really enjoyed the video, always helps to learn something new. Keep up the good work, Juice.
With the long-range fire, that's the whole deal. It's range. The closer you are to him, the easier it is to dodge, and when you are far, it moves way faster.
Dude these guides are absolutely incredible. #1 nothing beats em. Undisputed. All the mainstream weeb children can stick their boring dragged out mainstream channels, me Im subbing. I would love to see Midra next
Seriously impressive video. Your clear and concise analysis is to the point and informative. You've actually inspired me to give the game another go and try to approach each boss fight with the same analytical mindset. I struggled something fierce with the base game back when it came out. I felt the game design was just too over the top and exhausting. You made it look easy, so maybe I wasn't playing it correctly? Regardless, great vid and thanks!
This is a good guide. The biggest tip IMO is the Dragon-Hunter’s katana. It is the right weapon to use and they give it to you just before the fight. The stats are a little hard to make work at low rune level, but it is very good in this fight. The biggest BS in the fight is his long-range lightning+fire straight breath attack. I have not been able to find a way to dodge it consistently. You have to just guess and get lucky. Even if you guess right, it still interacts with the environment in the way the video points out and it fairly often randomly forks and hits you even if you’re well outside of the column of fire/lightning. No-hit runner gods have found ways, I guess, but for mere mortals, this attack alone makes no-hit runs on the DLC impossible, IMO.
sadly, it did not help me out, but that's only because I already killed him today, like 6 h ago, but I'm definitely going to replay the dlc, so it did overall, thank you juice
prolly too late, but jumping his long breath while at long range seems to throw off the tracking the fire has sometimes. Ideally you're just closer to him so you can strafe it, but if he does it at the start sprint straight right/left, and jump a little after he breathes.
Do you play at medium equip load or light? I can never seem to dodge the lightning/fire spray, at medium equip (skill issue on my side probably but just curious).
Please, do yourself a favor and delete this game. If you are hesitating to buy it, do not buy this pile of crap. You will have more fun playing with a stick and a rock that playing Elden Ring.

He's been my favourite fight in the DLC so far, really happy to see you essentially clowning on him. Great video
Mad Midra is my favorite just because I love how they put such an epic fight in some bog in the middle of nowhere

that laser attack was what kept killing me

Bro I love the scarab helm how the wings look like ears bouncing

I really want to love this fight but the camera is horrible
He also has some shit hitboxes
@@rigorm136 I take back my statement I spent hours just learning the fight, and he's very fun not as fun as midir for me but legendary non the less
Nice video

Light but I also had a hard time with it
@@jesterofjuice5132 Thanks
It doesn’t do enough damage in my opinion considering it’s supposed to be a dragon hunter slayer
Is it just me or they increased the number of boss attacks in this DLC ?
What's the build? Talismans
You sound like swagkage
People with hacking mod making no hit video and believing this :D
