The production looks like something from the 80s.
Hard to believe this is the same company that brought out Everdell.
Same company, but I believe their development duo that worked on Everdell left the company by this point.

I've been interested in both this and The King is Dead as a secretive DoaM game to ring in the after times with my favorite gaming groups... I know that they're not exactly the same thing, but I think the cleverness of this game is somewhat undone by its presentation and _definitely_ left in the dust when compared to the look of The King is Dead.

Yeah, the look aesthetic is definitely the weak spot, though I think the ease of play is a huge strength of the game. I haven't played TKID, but compared to some other shifting allegiance games like say Pax Pamir, this is so much more accessible.
@@TheCardboardHerald Yeah, from what I heard, the original edition of TKID had somewhat of an influence on Coles design for Pax Pamir, so the DNA sounds like it’s definitely shared between the two!

At Heritage Coffee, a local coffee shop here in Juneau, Alaska. I'm not sure where they ordered from but the bottom of the mug indicates the company is called "Kitsch'n Glam".

A very solid review! Thanks. I heard that the rulebook has issues. Care to comment on that?
bgm 1961 There were a few rules that I ended up clarifying via an FAQ but nothing I found gamebreaking. My biggest complaint ruleswise was that it doesn’t really have good summaries or references so you can’t quickly double check symbols or game terminology. So not the best but far from the worst. It was pretty concise and having read it front to back before the game arrived I felt pretty confident when sitting down with the game.
Production quality of this game (collector's edition) is REALLY terrible compare to its price. Btw. great review! cover all aspects. (I'll check your other vids later)
