Cleaning 9MM Brass With and Without Vinegar using Harbor Freight Dual Tumbler

Tumbled for 5 Hours. Forgot to mention!
I wanted to compare and see what vinegar would do to the brass since many people have different formulas. Next test will be how much vinegar is needed to make the brass beautiful and shiny.

Thanks for the video & information on using white vinegar. I use the Frankford tumbler & have cleaned thousands of pieces of brass, .380/9mm/.38 spl & .44 magnum. I'll try the vinegar to see any changes in the brass coloration. Thanks

Get some PH test paper and keep the acidity of the mix around 4 to 5 on the PH scale. If it gets more acidic than that it will leech the zinc from the brass, which will weaken it. Also do not sook the brass for too long in an acidic bath as the more time that goes by the more time the acidic bath has to leech the zinc from the cases.

I like clean shiny brass however the acid in citrus and vinegar leaches the zinc out of brass. Brass with no zinc is just copper so don't over do the acids

1 lb pins, 2 pound brass, at least 1 lb of liquid? Did the Tumblr sound like it was straining?

John Shilling not at all. Been running it like this for a while and never had an issue. I weighted everything after filling and it just met the weight limit.
