Wow, well done
Thoose are ripper backgrounds dude they look mint
Thanks!
I don't know mate , maybe your standards are higher then mine those termite mounds look spot on. I guess like they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Thanks .
They would have been really practical for sure. I just want to make something that looks more natural to me.
Top notch. Always uping the game.
Thanks Eric!
well done
Thanks!
omg wow they all look amazing great work
Cheers! 🤙🏼
Amazing mate, you have taken it to a whole other level congrats!!
Thanks mate! Pretty darn stoked with it all! Still a few things I need to add in.
Thanks for this.
You’re most welcome Niel.
Fantastic work! I especially like the wrapped photo. Looks amazing!
Thank you 😊
Phenomenal effort mate! 👌
Thanks!
Looking amazing mate! Love the blackheads!
Thanks mate!
@@BeachesScalyBeasts Ever though about going to ANGFA NSW? Lots of info on native fish and sometimes herps, as well as field trips.
@@moartanks to be honest mate I don’t have a lot of free time as is hey. About to be way less with a baby too!
@@BeachesScalyBeasts Totally forgot about the baby mate! Hope all goes well.
@@moartanks all good 😊 so far so good.
Absolutely unreal! Thank you for being such a next level keeper to give us inspiration and tips on how to be better 🤙🏽
Thanks for the praise! I do try to do that but even these aren’t perfect to me. I’m very happy with them don’t get me wrong. But If I end up more space down the track, look out!
Absolutely Awesome 👌 Very inspirational
Thanks mate!
This is goals, amazing work 👌✌️
Thanks!
👏🏻 they came out absolutely amazing and such a great idea with the backgrounds 🙌 I definitely want to do something similar with my monitors enclosures. I turned a walk in closet into one giant monitor enclosure and I think those backgrounds would look amazing in something like that. You should honestly start selling those 🤷♂️ their stunning
Thanks! Yeah it’s actually something that may be in the works.
@@BeachesScalyBeasts when you make it happen I want some. That’s for sure and again they look great and love how the room is turning out. Definitely top notch 🙌. I hope you have a great day bud I wish you the best 🙋♂️✌️
@@pumpkinchow thanks mate! You too! 🤙🏼
Looks insane mate! 👏👏
Thanks Gerry!! Did you get your childrens python?
@@BeachesScalyBeasts No. I am planning on getting it sometime in August but the enclosure is nearly ready.
This is amazing Luke!! What you’re doing for the reptile community is great, showing us how we can do stuff better for these animals.
Thank you! I really appreciate the kind words.
Bloody awesome mate! Inspiring to watch, especially being the direction I also want to go with my animal enclosure. I love the backgrounds!!
Thanks Jason! Appreciate the kind words. I reckon the enclosures are even better now. I featured them a fair bit in the room tour video about 6-7 months back with the upgrades.
Fantastic. You've done something I've been thinking about for awhile now.
Should make some up mate
wicked mate love them setups 👌
Thanks mate 😉
Incredible!! Really hope I can do something like this one day, until then I can dream & enjoy your vids. Thanks for sharing👍😊🦎💚🇦🇺
I’m sure you can do it! Glad you liked it.
@@BeachesScalyBeasts Thanks mate. You're an inspiration to me, as a fellow Aussie, Victorian, i've got limited space. But, where there's a will there's a way, they say.. lol. Onya buds, keep up the Great work & you're a very good Keeper, which I inspire & try to do. 🇦🇺👍
@@skinksinthecity thanks for the kind words mate!
Very nice work, hopefully one day I can do something similar to what you’ve done with these enclosures.
Thanks mate! Give it a crack.
@@BeachesScalyBeasts no worries, yeah ill go out to some locations take some photos and go from there.
Good idea they make the enclosures a lot brighter looking than the rock backgrounds do how do you think they will hold up with the heat and moisture in enclosures
They should hopefully last regarding the uv and moisture as it’s the same vinyl used on out door signage. The heat doesn’t Hit the vinyl directly so surface temps shouldn’t get higher than around low 30s on the vinyl. Direct sun outside would be a lot hotter than that.
In saying that, it’s all trial by error but I’m hoping if it’s good enough for outdoors, hopefully indoors should be okay 👌🏻
So much to say here but what comes to mind most is BRILLIANT!!!! You have an amazingly creative and artistic mind! I am so glad you share that with us. I always think that when people build out walls, what about the floor space? You and I think very similarly regarding husbandry! (Only I am not ever going bio) I love the thought of the pictures bringing you back to a place you love and the memories as well as a astetic view of what their home would be in the wild. We do have access to scenery wraps/backgrounds, but it's so much cooler for it to fit your memory and if you can, or like their natural world. For those that don't like the natural look of your species' wild habitat, a nice sunset or your favorite pictures from camping will work. Something that gives you nostalgia works. It can be more about you than the animal, depending on what you're going for. BUT PLEASE DO NOT put up pictures of people's faces or images, that can be scary to them, anything they can see the eyes of can mean stress for them so animals looking away or people not looking is fine but animals key in on eyes.
Thanks Amanda!
Mate, these enclosures are epic! Thank you for exploring how we can become better keepers for our animals, that’s what it’s all about!
Thanks Sandra! I got a few more tricks up my sleeve for these enclosures.
These are some beautiful set ups! I love them!!! 👍👏👏❤😍💕
Thanks!
looks so bloody good mate!!!
Thanks mate!
Ok I need the model on those enclosures:P I’m getting hopefully more monitors next season and those are stunning
They are the two biggest vivariums from reptile one mate. Glad you like them!
What’s the model number 😂 def have to get some I’m currently looking at upgrading my pair of frillys for next season and hopefully getting some more monitors like black heads and Pilbara rock monitors next season I’ve got a mate who breeds bushiis that’s I’m on his list so should be getting some next season
@@trentyonge8715 can’t remember off the top of my head. The smaller ones model was in the beginning of the video when they were in the boxes. Maybe jump on google and get on their website? They would have them on there.
Yeah I rewatch the start 9612 models definitely have to have a look when I’m in Brisbane next month for some they would be great for bushiis might have to look on there website I want something for my pair of ackies
Looks awesome Luke! Definitely inspired to do some vinyl backgrounds in some enclosures.. 👌👌🤙
If you do some up send some photos through 🤘🏻
Amazing enclosures! They look fantastic and not too complex to where they are difficult for you to upkeep.
Thanks mate! Still a few features in working on adding in.
Wow looking great mate! Your enclosures always look next level wicked. Does the aluminium backing absorb heat from all the lamps? I reckon it would look awesome when you’ve finished everything, have you got any plans for adding any plants or natural type grasses Into those enclosures?
It would maybe absorb a little but I don’t it’s much. I don’t think I’ll be doing any live plants as such but I want to add some gum clippings from time to time. I’ll be working on that soon.
Really awesome and informative video im in the UK so dwarf monitors are like rocking horse shit to find, ackies are the most common, v.tristis being second, I'm in the process of building a 5.5ftx4.5ftx3ft for my male ackie I've done a big rock wall inside as well as a 2ft substrate plinth to allow for all the digging he can manage, the tech inside your enclosures has given me some ideas to try and incorporate in to this build I like the sunrise/set led and misting system im going to have a look putting something similar in my enclosure.
Thanks for the video and the ideas, you've got a new Subscriber
That sounds like an awesome enclosure mate! I’m glad to have given you some inspiration abs would love to see your set up when it’s completed. Take care and thanks for the sub!
What type of wood you use for enclosure for kimberley monitor
WOW, how cool, turned out absolutely amazing luke! Definitely want to do this for all my guys now! Love these types of videos 👍🏽
Thanks Darcy! Thanks for the feedback :)
I take my hat off to you mate. Awesome builds 👌
Thank you Brad! I still want to do some things to really finish them off.
Phenomenal builds. Excellent video presentation.
Thanks Matt!
Awesome idea mate they look sensational 👍
Thanks mate!
Beautiful crafting
Thank you!
Hi. This is just beautiful !
I would love to find the same posters as you for my future terrarium. Where can you find them? A site where you can order them?
Hi there. They are my actual photos but I have set up a website where I sell them from in a vinyl roll rather than a panel. You could always put them on a panel (like in the video) but I sell them in rolls as postage is cheaper.

Absolutely awesome video and love your vivarium designs 👍😎👍
Thanks Andrew!
These are incredible! Amazing work 🙌🤩
Thanks Clay!
this is my dream
truly inspirational, luke. amazing work as always. i’m going to look up a print shop near me and give this technique a go as well.
Thank you! Please send some pics through Facebook when you do. I’m keen to see what you do.
@@BeachesScalyBeasts will do brother!
Did the vinyl adhesive pictures come on the composite sheets or did you do that yourself before installing them into the tanks?
I got Eduardo to wrap them at his shop so it was easy for me to install them.
Keep an eye out for an upcoming video where I put the wrap directly into and enclosure not using the aluminium.
Excelente video y que buen trabajo saludos des de México 🇲🇽
I really enjoyed your video, it gave me some great ideas on upgrading my ackie caging, and what to do for my upcoming Kimberley acquisition. Do you have a male, or are you getting one for her? Also, did you purchase your monitors, or did you collect them yourself?
I have been a poison frog guy for 30 years, and just recently moved over to the different Australian dwarf monitors. I can’t get over their intelligence and ability to think a situation through. They are just fascinating to me. I subscribed to your channel, and expect to learn a lot more from you. Thanks a ton!!
I’m glad to have helped a little! I’ve just got the female and currently don’t have a plan to breed her.
I’ve purchased all of mine as we can’t just collect herps here.
I wish we could have dart frogs! I love them and would find making their terrariums incredibly satisfying!
Are you using some kind of computer to control the lights and heat?
Wifi controllable power boards mate. Check out my video on grid connect gear. It’s pretty useful stuff!
hey buddy me and my son a blackhead monitor, one question how and when do you use the misting machine.
Hi mate! It’s connected to the grid connect system and I just manually turn it on/off using the app on my phone. I use it when I feel the humidity in the room is too low. I check the humidity using my grid connect sensor.
Sometimes I just turn it on when it’s raining outside to simulate rain inside with the low pressure system.
Hey Luke, on the topic of Gillen monitors, how much would they cost ?
Going rate is about $600 give or take at the moment.
I have a baby mangrove monitor wild caught and I'm going to get a 30gallon container tomorrow do you know what I can use for a substrate like can I use the soil from outside since they're native where I live?. And how much and often do u feed them.
I don’t see why you couldn’t use the soil if they are local to you.
I’d feed it a few times a week.
@@BeachesScalyBeasts how much food like a tea spoon?
@@noprobbob3272 there’s no hard abs fast rules mate as size, appetite and metabolism will all come into play.
Try to feed no more than the size of the animals head and gauge it from there.
@@BeachesScalyBeasts thank you
What kind of wood you use to build kimberley rock monitor enclosure
They are Mdf enclosures made by Reptile One
@@BeachesScalyBeasts awesome
It's bigger but no clutter? Ait
It’s changed a fair bit since this original video. I’ve added more rocks for the kimbo and large termite mounds for the tristis and gillens. All the cages also have holders for fresh cut gum branches with leaves to be replaced on a regular basis.
This was simply an introduction video and have since put out further videos on the additions to the displays.
Really liked the rock crevices that's awsome & must admit it do look like where there from, but you get me more diverse hiding spots =D
Nice enclosures but shit man; over a minute for an intro is ROUGH
Damn cool! Somebody got the link of the video he was talking about in 25:10 of collecting things from the bush? Thnx!
