It's zero now since I distill it myself. Much easier and cost efficient. I figure less than 25 cents a gallon figuring in the cost of electricity. @@FuncraftVideos

I agree, i have been using the megahome for the last 2 years and it works a treat. I dont re-mineralise the water because i eat so much fruit and veg like you said but when i drink the water on its own i add a pinch of celtic sea salt
Use citric (edit from ascorbic) acid to clean your distiller. It's inexpensive, safe, works spectacularly well, and makes your MegaHome look nearly new again. And you just have to put a few tablespoons in, turn your distiller on (without the lid), let it boil for 20 minutes, and then wipe it down & rinse. :)

@@yurineskowich998 I haven't tested the boiling time of the distiller since I bought it but from memory (don't quote me) when I filled it to full capacity (4 litres) it was taking roughly 45 minutes to see the first drops coming out - dependant on the outdoor temperature and how cold the water was to start with. Using my Igenix catering kettle I can boil that amount in around 11 minutes and within another 5 minutes I'm seeing the first drops emerge from the distiller. So probably around a half hour saving overall. A good tip in autumn / winter is to refill the kettle again after you use it so that the cold water warms up closer to ambient room temperature which shaves a few minutes off boiling time.
Brilliant genuine review I've ever viewed, think I'll go with a Megahome as well. Think I'll look at it as a "hobby", some people brew beer, I'll brew water.
I purchased the mini classic about 12 years ago and its still running strong but I did have to service it with new gasket and plug on the tank which cost about $60. I also noticed the reduced water production after about 5 years of running non stop and found out it was the timer and just give the timer a small turn back to get that 3/4 gallon mark. the mini is a better made machine then the megahome for all out quality materials used in the coil and the voc port but for the price the megahome is a solid distiller. p.s my distiller is in the garage so noise hasn't been an issue.
You're doing it wrong with the "megahome". You shouldn't be unplugging and re-plugging it constantly - the connection plugs will get bent out of shape eventually and then you'll have to wiggle them over and over to get it to connect, and then one day it'll be barely electrically connected, and it'll overheat and melt the plastic. What you do is use the empty distilled water container (or any other container) - fill that up with tap water, and then take that over and pour it into the distiller. Avoid unplugging/plugging in the distiller too much - it will fail at the plug terminals guaranteed.
with the exception of cleaning it out? the "flake" left behind in mine was extremely foul, it was so bad I lived on store-bought spring water for the remaining year at that residence, I feared it was so bad it might destroy my DISTILLER, no less..
I have the "cheap" version and I put hot water from the tap in, takes 2 hrs 30 mins for 4 litres. I do 3 or 4 batches for the week and store it in 8litre glass jar + 4 litre jug ... easy :D
I thought about buying the Mini Classic but decided to go with the Steam Pure PD model. It has a larger footprint but I thought the electrical plug on the back of the Mini would eventually wear out. The Steam Pure does distill nearly 4 liters of water leaving about a liter behind in the bottom. There is a valve on the bottom that lets you drain it out into a pot or bucket but I only drain it once a week. I think they have it that way to keep the heating element from burning up. About every 3 months I clean it with citric acid and about a liter of water. The mineral scale just melts away. It is a very simple and easy unit to use if you have a bit of extra room.
It's doing great although I will be replacing the micro switch for the ball float that turns off the unit when the distillation is finished. It's $12 part.
I've been running my Megahome every day for 2.5 years. It's still running great but I find it's gradually taking a bit longer to distill a gallon of water. Also, I run it on a wifi timer so I don't run it until completely empty. I've heard it last longer if you don't run it till empty and let it stop on it's own
Lol. Always fun to watch. The water left is to prevent the heating element from burning. Prob good idea to buy RO filters especially now when electicity bills are up the roof. I am originally from Russia and even there the government is kinder to its ppl and does not fluridate water. My RO osmosis works well. When decide to come to Au, let me know and I will host and show you around man. I am in Sydney. Cheers. Pavel
I don't currently have either one of these distillation systems however based on your recommendation, I am about to place an order for a Megahome water distiller. Cheers!
Might be hard with your setup so high, but I found getting a gallon pitcher and filling that up and then just dumping into the megahome is much easier, because then you can just hold the lid with your other hand while your pour instead of disconnecting everything. And then just clean/rinse it out every so often. But I've let mine get pretty dirty/full of sediment inside and it still produces pure clean water every time.
Yes, so much easier to refill distiller with a plastic pitcher...yes, redo your strategy. I have less counter space than you n wanted my space back n tired of cleaning residue....unfortunatly i put my distiller back in storage n now returned to buying distilled in plastic jugs :(
I drink only distilled water whenever I have solar power to create it. My Steampure quit working this morning. It’s probably the heating element so I will trouble shoot it eventually. I ordered a $100 VivoHome model distiller from Amazon. It’ll be here in one day. Or that’s what they’re saying anyway. My Steampure is over 20 years old. It was $500 new. I have 30 one gallon glass jugs full of distilled water just in case it’s cloudy a lot or there’s a power outage.
@@AddyEspresso yep it’s a good idea. The countertop model arrived and has been working great. It takes about 1/2 the time to make a gallon. 3 hrs instead of 6 hrs. I repaired the old distiller and descaled it made 1 gallon to try it out then stored it. Distilled water is a good idea because it attaches to heavy metals like a magnet and flushes them out. It doesn’t effect healthy bound minerals in the body. Only flushes unbound out. Most of our necessary minerals come from food not tap Water anyway.
I love my megahome. They sell replacement parts for everything so you can fix it. I have a timer on mine so it doesn’t over heat to shut off (it shuts off via temperature). I like buying things I don’t have to keep spending money on and with mega home the filters are really cheap, the only thing is the hassle of making water. I’ve had mine for over a year now and it’s still working great
Yes, I've seen those. Quite expensive, starts around $3k for a floor stand like the Absopure. But then I was wondering if it pulls water from the air to make it, wherever you put it would have to be clean air. Home air is dirtier than outside air. And don't forget the VOCs in the wall paint, off putting gases from furniture and carpet and any cleaning products used at the time. Too many variables to ensure if I was making clean water.
like 10 years ago (wtf am i old or something?) i did have a distiller like the mega home u have but after 8 months it broke (bought it used) wasnt too bad overall tho however a tipp: dont use it over night: the moisture + the heat from cooking the water trapped inside will pretty much inevitably make it rust (even if its stainless steel) - rather open it and let the warmth escape shortly after it finishes operating. also use a cloth with distilled vinegar, it will get rid of the mud/calcium deposits (if u dont do it every time or every second time it will become very hard to get rid of once its caked on thiccly)
Great video with the differences between the distillers. Many other brands tend to have a similar build with just a different brand. I’m wondering what the build quality would look like if not differ in any way.
I’m sorry you got ripped off with a second hand Mini Classic (Pure Water Mini Classic CT from Lincoln Nebraska?) Would you imagine, I bought one on your recommendation after watching the video you made a couple of months back. I bought it new though and haven’t had any problems so far. That’s why I was thinking maybe the rattling came from the round tank cover inside, someone recommended I start buying some spare parts just in case, a lot of pressure builds up from water vapor of course and wear and tear will occur eventually I’m sure. Also, did you know city waterworks don’t fluoridate the water in the Province of Quebec? I think we’re the only province in Canada that doesn’t. Anyway, I always enjoy your videos as you know, I love the new format of filming outside and doing "the cinema" I think you’re becoming funnier every day! May the cinema be yours, Veggie Police! ✌😄
I would always fill mine with as hot tap water...gives the machine a head start (doesn't have to heat up from cold). And yep, a splash of white vinegar to clean well.
VP I see that your megahome distiller is set up above your toaster oven… I just want to say be careful! If you have a B12 deficient vegan brain like I do, you will at some point inevitably forget to place the carafe back into place and you will wake to find your precious distilled water has spilled all over your floor drop by drop. Or in your case inside your toaster oven!! I keep my megahome sitting inside a plastic tote so when I forget to place the carafe back the water just drips into the tote 😊
just for your consideration...Removal of organic compounds by distillation can vary depending on chemical properties of the contaminant. Certain pesticides, volatile solvents, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), such as benzene and toluene, with boiling points close to or below that of water will vaporize along with the water as it is boiled in the distiller. Such compounds will not be completely removed unless another process is used prior to condensation...sooooooooooooooo :)
@@michellesmith5436 theoretically ...its a good choice becuase it contains a layer of activated charcoal which is an effective way to partially remove VOC's if this was an area of concern. But there is not alot of research out there showing how effective it is in actually achieving this..i think its a good choice ...and their filters are reasonably priced...
@@calikokat100I used to buy Pur and Brita and you could get away with using them a little past what is recommended but with Zero Water you get a bad chemical taste like plastic when the filter is spent and the tds reading shoots way up over 300 ppm whereas my tap water is only about 80.
I heard someone say that they tested their testosterone before and after getting a home water distiller and it made a good difference almost doubled. I’m on day two of having it so I haven’t felt to much of a diffference I am hoping it helps with my joints I heard that can improve from non plastic distilled water
Going with the Megahome, been looking for a distiller or a RO system. Your list of items does not have a link for it though. I also did not see a link below the video! Get that added home boy!
There is Waterlover's distiller. Some people are very positive about that product. I think it has a 2.8 liter jug, no plastic in the drip circuit. Also has a auto stop feature to prevent scale buildup. I suggest using some sort of a time with megahome to make sure some water is left in the end.
I have a Waterlovers distiller... the MKII. I really like the glass pitcher it comes with. I have had it for about 2.5 years and use it on average once a day. Unfortunately, I have started having an issue with the water not going entirely to the pitcher, and about half of it ending up under the unit. Taking a close look at the unit, I found that the area where the water comes out just above the carbon filter holder, the plastic housing has cracked from the heat of the steam. So, some of the water ends up in the pitcher and the rest somehow follows the cracks and makes a mess. The exit point of the water is even with the plastic. In my mind, this is a design flaw as this should extend below the plastic. Oh well... the reason I am here today is I need to replace the unit and am looking for an alternative, longer lasting unit.
@@wnehpets1 That's unfortunate. Mega home has a version of the distiller that has no plastic in the conduit. Stainless steel all the way up to a ceramic housing for the filter and finally the glass pitcher to hold the distilled water. I am loving it and I can recommend. The only downside is the lack of a timer. The unit does stop on its own, but it almost always goes to no water left inside, exacerbating the scale buildup. I use a simple mechanical timer socket to get around this problem and to schedule the process during the night hours. Then I don't mind the noise and it's half the electricity cost - win win. OK, another minor downside is that you have to make sure the pitcher is aligned properly or there's gonna be a mess in the morning - the worst time for a mess.
@@mkeyx82 Thanks for the information. Earlier today I disassembled the machine thinking I could use food grade silicone to seal up the cracks. I then realized that part of what was broken included two plastic hold-down screw posts that held a small funnel type piece in place. With the funnel out of position, some water would make it to the pitcher and the rest would not. Working with super glue and baking soda, I was able to reset the posts and and reinforce the cracked plastic. The unit is working as expected now. Only time will tell how well the repair holds up though.
i am from India, we have Chinese version of megahome available here. it's been working fine for last 1 year, it can be repaired too, very easy to repair
FYI … Looking at recent reviews on Amazon, there are multiple people over just the last couple of months who are reporting the durability of the Megahome isn’t what it used to be. I’m probably going to take a chance, but everything should do their research. ❤
I bought the mega home MH943SBS Water Distiller 6 months ago. The chamber has corroded terribly and the button to start the distillation process stopped working. I can't use it and they won't honor the warranty! I spent a lot of money on that thing and now it's destined for the trash.
I have been using ZeroWater that produces zero parts per million with no electricity, and will filter 1,5 L in a few mins. All it takes is a filter about every 2 months. 8 filters for £99
I was drinking water from my Brita; after 8 months I was feeling ill, and my doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. I am thinking of drinking only distilled water and cooking with distilled water to see if I can get better... also, I heard that coffee has a lot of pesticides if is not organic. So, I think I am intoxicated because of the faucet water and the pesticides from the cheap coffee I bought.
The UK Megahome company has shut down. So I do not know which would be the best second option. they are still for sell on other sites, but i dont know how long for., just trying to get the top fixed as the fan has stopped working.
My megahome worked perfect for 2 years but I didn't clean out the calcium with citric acid or vinegar. So it caked up & cracked the metal leaking water. Need a new bottom bowl part now. Clean it often to avoid this
Mini Classic II I've had for years. I don't recommend it especially if you live in Canada. It's crazy expensive to fix and yes it needs fixing regularly. None of the parts are standard, not the rubber gaskets, not the screws, so you have to order everything from the US. The rubber gasket at the back always "disappears" and I assume ends up in the water (and ridiculously expensive for them to mail you 3 tiny rubber gaskets, don't recall now but something like $50-75 USD, I mean ridiculous). The fan stopped working for a while and then magically started again thankfully. The element had to be replaced because it started leaking after a year in a half. It arrived stained from their water test. (If I remember correctly, vegetable oil took it off). Vinegar works great to clean the inside, you don't need buy what they want to sell you. After a while you'll have to oil the rubber gasket to get the two pieces to connect and of course they want you to buy that lubricant from them. The filters you buy afterwards never made the water taste as good as the original filter that came with the unit, but the water is clean enough you can do without the filters. If you replace the rubber gasket, you'll get it to make the right amount of water until it "disappears" (dissolves) again. Uncomfortably loud unless you have another room to put it into. Do I sound frustrated?? Thank you for the tip for what to replace it with if I want to keep distilling, not sure I will. Didn't notice any health improvement from distilling, and I wonder if it's wise to have green juices regularly if one drinks distilled water, and I like the taste of non-distilled water more than distilled water. However I met someone who has drank distilled for decades and looks healthy.
Thanks for the review! Have you done any videos on using diatomaceous earth (DE) for detoxing? I don’t see anything listed on your channel but could be missing. I’m asking you specifically because you mentioned the nonorganic minerals gumming up your arteries. I’d expect DE to do that; however, lots of people get incredible results with it. Curious about your perspective.
Can someone answer my question? Please 🙏… My Megahome distiller is getting hot, but the water dripping out is cool. Is it still distilled water? My former Megahome heated my entire kitchen, was louder and the water came out hot.
I used to have one similar to the mega home even 20 years ago. I really don't like how small the intercooler and fans are. All these distillers have to do is use a larger intercooler and a large house hold fan. If they want to get fancy, make one with a Dyson fan. The bigger the fan the more silent. The other problem is a ton of deposits that needs to be cleaned out. I just use the Zero Water filter system for now, no power or noise and water measures 0 particles.
i bought a cheap co-z water distiller in 2021 for $120, still works and i use it everyday, also have a megahome that i bought at the same time, still havent used it lol
Great video! :0) 💕 I appreciate your information on spring water because I considered going that route. I have 2 Megahome distillers and always have one going and one soaking in water with vinegar to be able to rinse and switch to make a new batch of distilled water. I fill it half way with tapwater and I dump vinegar in the tank and let it sit overnight and then I can just dump it into the other container that’s done, so I always have one soaking and one clean ready to go. Also, I’ve been wondering if it’s doing me any good to be adding liquid trace minerals to the water I drink and you kind of clarified that for me. I do have a healthy diet so I’m sure I’m getting minerals from my food as well. I don’t eat fast food or restaurant food. I prepare my meals at home and it’s healthy fresh ingredients. I have four large breed ragdoll cats and keep their large glass fountain full everyday too. I make all of my own drinks, popsicles from my garden and fruits from my yard. I also use it to make lemonade, tea, cold brew coffee, & fruit drinks. I only use distilled water so I go through a lot that’s why I have to have so much clean water. I just put in an order on Amazon tonight for the heavy duty stainless steel one because one of mine is getting a little bit of rust on it on the outside. I love my mega home distillers. I considered the mini classic, but I just don’t have enough room on my counter for it so that was the dealbreaker for me. Also after I seen what was left in the tank and and how its filled I wouldn’t want to deal with trying to clean the water left behind. I have very hard water in my house and it seems like that would be more work to clean and refill. I am 52 and my coworkers thought I was in my early 30’s. I believe it’s the clean water and clean eating that makes people think I’m younger.
i think as long as u have new filters the berkey is not bad corse it works without electriciti but as i know the destillation progress is the "cleanest" u can get
I used to have a megahome. The trouble was the fan eventually died, and so I tore it apart and rigged a new fan onto it. They need to either use a more durable fan, or design the whole appliance so that the fan alone can be easily removed and replaced.
Hows the megahome holding up? I am considering owning one do you know if you have the 304 or 316 stainless steel model and how's the bowl holding up? Thanks cheers
I would prefilter the water before hand, that way you shouldn’t need much cleaning. And no!! Only distilling clearly doesn’t get rid of all, chemicals can still get through. There are distillers for essential oils/ alcohol with more capacity.
I had the h2o labs which is the same as the mega home. I'm upgrading to the h2omatic automatic it's the smallest auto still available to my knowledge but it's expensive going to be nice for the convenance. They do make automatic stills with manual options.
Quick idea for a robust and silent distiller: 2L flat bottom boiling flask, condenser and a 2L receiver. Use a vacuum pump to reduce pressure to the point where it practically boils at room temp. By introducing a small amount of heat, like slightly above ambient, the whole lot should distill. And it never breaks. Total cost, perhaps $250. Low energy once vacuum is pulled. Sorry for rant
After much research I got a Megahome, thinking it was gonna be the bees knees. I was making about 3 gallons sometimes 4 in 24 hours the first couple months filling up some 5 gallon jugs for my plant room and for my humidifiers in my plant room. Then I keep a glass gallon upstairs and one downstairs for drinking. Anyway, after two months, my Megahome started getting a crack at the bottom of the pot. Before that the white silicone gasket around the fan lid became disheveled and was starting to cause rust around it. So I was disillusioned two things going wrong in two months. So they covered it under warranty but I wasn’t gonna be able to use my Megahome Distiller with a crack in it so while I had to wait for them to do their thing to get it fixed under warranty, I went on Amazon about the cheapest Distiller I could find it was $89 from VO. Guess what? I like that son of a bitch better!!! it is a 750 W so it will distill a gallon in 3 1/2 hours which is a plus. My Megahome takes 5 1/2 hours. Both of them are on timers. I don’t wanna let them run dry. Either way, distilling water has been my way of life since February. I was buying it at the grocery store but what a pain in the butt to buy it to drink cook with plant room humidifiers even giving a couple gallons a week to my daughter from my grandsons, humidifier, and sterilizer. So I’ve decided I’m just going to get the cheapest one. I just replace it as needed because the Megahome let me down.

@@HousePeopleI do too. It cut it down to 5hrs.
That was helpful, thank you, peace and positivity to everyone.
Brilliant genuine review I've ever viewed, think I'll go with a Megahome as well. Think I'll look at it as a "hobby", some people brew beer, I'll brew water.
Didn't buy one, takes about 3kwh to produce a pot full.
Also i used a timer on mine set to shut off before it ran out of water so i didnt need to clean the residue in the boiler so often.
with the exception of cleaning it out? the "flake" left behind in mine was extremely foul, it was so bad I lived on store-bought spring water for the remaining year at that residence, I feared it was so bad it might destroy my DISTILLER, no less..
I will keep that in mind, thanks.
Mine still works fine after five years of unplugging.
@@plodojed5 years? Mine only last about 1-2 years. I’m sure if you’re careful with the plugs, it’ll probably be ok.
Now I'm thinking maybe a raccoon. I can sneak water from my sister's container!
Boil the water first in a kettle then fill the distiller it’s much faster 👍
This!
How much faster are we talking about exactly? I wanna try this
I have the "cheap" version and I put hot water from the tap in, takes 2 hrs 30 mins for 4 litres.
Hi, you wrote this 5 months ago I was wondering how your Steam Pure Mini is doing now?
It's doing great although I will be replacing the micro switch for the ball float that turns off the unit when the distillation is finished. It's $12 part.
I like my chemtrail water with a side of bear urine.
Berkey with fluoride elements for this house. Nice and quiet.
I am originally from Russia and even there
the government is kinder to its ppl and does not fluridate water. My RO osmosis works well. When decide to come to Au, let me know and I will host and show you around man. I am in Sydney. Cheers. Pavel
I don't currently have either one of these distillation systems however based on your recommendation, I am about to place an order for a Megahome water distiller. Cheers!
I like this flat earth map behind Your back :)
Appreciate this video. Some useful content and some comedic bits Thank You
I have the h2o labs distiller, that is exactly like the mega home. I've had it for 3 years now and it works like a champ. Best $300 I've ever spent.
Yea I should rework my strategy lol.
That doesn't seem like a good idea
@@AddyEspresso yep it’s a good idea. The countertop model arrived and has been working great. It takes about 1/2 the time to make a gallon. 3 hrs instead of 6 hrs. I repaired the old distiller and descaled it made 1 gallon to try it out then stored it. Distilled water is a good idea because it attaches to heavy metals like a magnet and flushes them out. It doesn’t effect healthy bound minerals in the body. Only flushes unbound out. Most of our necessary minerals come from food not tap
Water anyway.
@@billbradley2480 Huh. Well as long as your food has minerals and you add an electrolyte tablet every so often you should be fine.
@@AddyEspresso yes I supplement minerals with a electrolyte supplement multivitamin powder sometimes.
Love your personality dude thanks for this information best comparative video of distillers on youtube
Love the map in the back- and love the commentary and comparisons I’ve been looking for a bit on what system to get- thanks!
I’ve had mine for over a year now and it’s still working great
Have you seen the water dispenser that pulls moisture out of the air? It's supposed to make clean pure water.
Too many variables to ensure if I was making clean water.
like 10 years ago (wtf am i old or something?) i did have a distiller like the mega home u have
but after 8 months it broke (bought it used) wasnt too bad overall tho
however a tipp: dont use it over night: the moisture + the heat from cooking the water trapped inside will pretty much inevitably make it rust (even if its stainless steel) - rather open it and let the warmth escape shortly after it finishes operating. also use a cloth with distilled vinegar, it will get rid of the mud/calcium deposits (if u dont do it every time or every second time it will become very hard to get rid of once its caked on thiccly)
Was just looking for this.
i have both and enjoy both...but my mimi classic is hard to beat...however you can't go wrong with either one!
Been on distilled water for months now. When someone is watering their lawn I can smell those chemicals people are force fed.
Great video with the differences between the distillers. Many other brands tend to have a similar build with just a different brand. I’m wondering what the build quality would look like if not differ in any way.
Thanks for this great review, just ordered the mega home, Cheers!
You are great love the info and you are a pleasure to listen to great sense of humor.
thank you for your generocity
You can clean em out before refilling with some cheap but natural vinegar to cut through that crust at the bottom.. same as you would a kettle
came for the water. stayed for the humor.
Great Video. I use Megahome normally but my latest one died after 18 months. So buy something cheaper.
just for your consideration...Removal of organic compounds by distillation can vary depending on chemical properties of the contaminant.
I've been using the Zero Water filters. Do you have an opinion on these?
The megahome comes with small activated charcoal packs which are placed inside the lower/removable plastic spout as a last stage filter
Do you buy the filters too or not really needed? thx
Put megahome in an affiliate link. I will probably buy it soon.
@@wnehpets1 super glue and baking soda do wonders.
Good video thanks 👍 and my favorite part of the video is the end lol😂😂😂😂
do you filter the water before distilling it? I just don't know how distillers can remove everything without some type of carbon filtration
If you leave the megahome on top of the shelf, you could fill up a regular lightweight pitcher and fill it up that way.
Pretty cool to give away some gear, don't really need it due to having a distilling neighbor but good going man, good vibes

FYI … Looking at recent reviews on Amazon, there are multiple people over just the last couple of months who are reporting the durability of the Megahome isn’t what it used to be. I’m probably going to take a chance, but everything should do their research. ❤
How’d it turn out?
Super fun and informative video. Thanks for the positive vibes ❤❤❤
U funny 🤣 n that picture at the begining is what my hair looks like lol, thanks for the info ✌️😽💕
Can someone answer my question? Please 🙏…
My Megahome distiller is getting hot, but the water dripping out is cool. Is it still distilled water? My former Megahome heated my entire kitchen, was louder and the water came out hot.
Thank you
I used to have one similar to the mega home even 20 years ago.
I appreciate your information on spring water because I considered going that route.
So would this be better at removing heavy metals (compared to a Berkey?)
i think as long as u have new filters the berkey is not bad corse it works without electriciti but as i know the destillation progress is the "cleanest" u can get
I used to have a megahome.
I have 2 megahome clones, they work great. Found out 1 wasn't enough
Does the electricity bill come up to a lot?
I would prefilter the water before hand, that way you shouldn’t need much cleaning. And no!! Only distilling clearly doesn’t get rid of all, chemicals can still get through.
There are distillers for essential oils/ alcohol with more capacity.
Excellent video! Have you seen this product the waterlovers MKII?
I have the megahome. The first one lasted 2 years, then the motor failed. Bought another... in its second year (hope it lasts longer).
Are you distilling water or piss?
I loved my Megahome but I'm getting ready to move cross country so I gave it to my friend
I had the h2o labs which is the same as the mega home. I'm upgrading to the h2omatic automatic it's the smallest auto still available to my knowledge but it's expensive going to be nice for the convenance. They do make automatic stills with manual options.
Are you adding your own waters to the distilled water?
I wanna ask the same !
Is the megahome 316 stainless made in taiwan? Or china? Or made in usa?
ya man i love the megahome, i call him R2!
Awesome review, thanks so much :)
My wife fills the mega like you do. I fill the glass pitcher and pour it into the unit without unplugging it.
Quick idea for a robust and silent distiller:
2L flat bottom boiling flask, condenser and a 2L receiver.
Use a vacuum pump to reduce pressure to the point where it practically boils at room temp.
By introducing a small amount of heat, like slightly above ambient, the whole lot should distill. And it never breaks.
Total cost, perhaps $250. Low energy once vacuum is pulled.
Sorry for rant
go with H20 labs, the one i got is steel and has a ceramic spout, water doesnt touch plastic
does the megahome have a plastic spout?
@@mustaffa1611 I found out that H2O and Megahome is made by the same company. They have the exact same components

How about a 5 gallon stove top version?
Think it leaves water so it doesn’t leave as bad a residue
Spring water is also sediment filled.
VO?
