- Pokémon Black & White had all online features shutdown around a decade ago, or did it? Through official Nintendo servers yes, but there's a way to still access them now in 2024! Today I show you how to use the GTS yourself, and what you can expect to see!

Hey could you add to the pinned comment the Magnemite Coil?
In BW2 in Japan everybody started trading Magnemites because they were easy to catch, catchable early on, and affected by Magnet Pull. They did this because of Join Avenue. Then everybody else across the globe did that alongside the Japanese players when the games were released everywhere else. It's still done in the Poke classic network

I myself am actually pretty active in the b2w2 online community. I use the gts quite often, and with the help of that and other online members, I actually just 100 percented the whole national dex!

@@Cynthia-kp1fy To play any gen 5 game online, you’ll have to swap out your DNS code in your internet settings on your 3DS to the one required for internet capabilities. There’s multiple tutorials on the web and UA-cam for it, if you’re looking for the specific code. I’ve also got the DNS code in my bio.

@@redlvndent3043 It'll have to forget psystrike or it won't transfer. It's like the flying Pikachu incident when transferring it from HGSS to DPPT and gen 5 despite it being completely legit thanks to the Pokewalker feature. The only difference is Zoroark never learned Psystrike in any way to begin with.
It might not transfer anyway since it “hatched” on September 31st which doesn’t exist
Zoroark can't learn Psystrike, so I think that shiny is hacked :(

I adore this new server, it's been a blast going through and trading for Join Avenue passerby. Since I've got a 3Ds with CFW I made a whole bunch of japanese ditto in PkHex and duplicated them to trade out to english players that want a masuda ditto. If y'all see a japanese ditto holding a berry juice, that's me :p
In my country Black/White 2 released in late 2012 and less than 1 1/2 years later, in early 2014, ALL online functions shut down on that game. That was wild.

We really need Nintendo to release a gen 3 collection with all its multiplayer capabilities, e-reader cards & functionality, event tickets & event mons (translated to all languages), Colosseum restored with it's VR Room, E-reader card list, scrapped shadow mons & both bonus disc content (and XD).
Trainer Hill (Emerald), Trainer Tower (FR&LG) has so much replayability potential (based on the japanese version) it's insane. There are also "battle basement" in Seven Island (FR & LG) and Sootopolis City (Emerald) that has a lot of wasted potential. Those NEED to come back and utilized proper.
Speaking of online capabilities, did you know FireRed & LeafGreen have a certain NPC in Cerulean City in the house next to the Poké Mart that was supposed to give you a berry (within a set list) depending on the Wonder News you receive through wireless adapter Mystery Gift?

Id like to note for anyone trying to do this themselves, it only works on nDSi games, such as the black and white series
HGSS works too.
You can make it work on some pre DSi titles but you need to use a WEP router

I’ve been trading Magnemites with everyone and that’s been pretty fun for the Join Avenue
The only letdown is that you can only look up Pokemon you have seen thus far.
Hey! I saw you still have luma updater on your 2ds, that software isn't supported anymore, if you want to update luma 3ds you should do it using universal updater.

I've been shiny hunting these games for years so get ready for some shiny trade fodder!
If you manage to get on the GTS through this method (there's really nothing to it, it's super easy to do on a regular 3DS), do a service to the Pokémon community by:
- Not putting FAKEmon or hacked Pokémon on the GTS.
- Placing version exclusive Pokémon on the GTS for fair trades (a Rufflet for a Vullaby is a fair trade, a Rufflet for a Deoxys is not)
- If you have any foreign Pokémon, particularly Dittos, flood the GTS with them and nickname them based on your region. The Masuda Method works in Gen V and having foreign Pokémon on the GTS makes it so much easier to do.

I was able to get online working on real hardware for gen V again, but there's so few people playing in these servers that it doesn't feel worth it anymore, aside from mystery gifts.
Also I always see people using these servers for trades and mystery gift, but I never see examples of people testing it for actual pokemon battles.

It's good to see how people work to keep these games alive, and I'm not going to do less so here's my contribution.
I have been playing all the Pokémon games from the 3rd to 5th generation since November 2023 and with the help of my friends I completed the Pokédex of all the games, so if anyone needs help with their Pokédex, let me know.

Quick question: with Nintendo officially shutting down their Internet services for the 3DS games next Monday, does anyone know whether or not we'll still be able to connect to the Internet and use the Pokemon Classic Network fan server? I've been using my brother's 3DS to play Pokemon Black, and there are still a couple of Pokemon I haven't managed to get for my Pokedex yet.

I wasn’t able to get the mystery gifts working for this game. I tried the DNS from this video plus the one from your other video but I’ve been getting error codes. It all worked perfectly in White but for some reason not for my White 2 game :\ any tips?

yo is it possible for you to do a video on moving pokemon into transporter, then bank, then home on switch? i know it sounds really easy and it probably should be, but when i tried to do this all my pokemon from W2 got stuck in the transporter app and i wasn’t able to send them to bank for some reason? i had a bank subscription and everything because this was about a month or two before they made bank free

It should be able to recognize the game when you load up transporter. I see no reaaon why it wouldnt.
yes you can, although if you want to transfer them up to the switch you should do it sooner rather than later, because we don't know how much longer Pokémon bank is gonna be working for

It's almost the same for gen 4, just an extra step. You'll want to use a passwordless hotspot or passwordless wifi connection instead of your main wifi.

Haha the oldest pokemon save I woulda had was in 2020 it was a cool save file looking back because I was still in high school and I let my best friend name my character so it had more of an attachment. But I made the mistake of upgradeing my sd card to a cheap 1tb and it currupted my switch saves so I had to restart my progress on all my switch pokemon games. Though I do have my og switch cartridge but it’s not my og account it’s actually a save my sister made back in 2019 so still an old save but not technically mine even though I’m the only one still playing sense after she got a switch she just played her switch pokemon stuff haha. But still all og cartridges. And then I have a save from 2021 on my og ultra moon that’s 3 years old og cart but not save but it’s been shiny hunting Rowlet for three years I wanted to get my first shiny starter hunt it feels so nistolgic to play that og cartridge and shiny hunt so many successful hunts on that cartridge back in the day and on the same new 3ds xl I hunted with too so super nistolgic just booting up the setup with all of it iv had forever

Bought my b2 when it first came out. Still have the box too. Apparently it's worth a decent amount of cash. It was the last pokemon game I played from start to finish. X and y made me quit. Literally didn't finish the game. Only used it for pokebank
