I used to dismiss Underfell for being needlessly edgy, but now I see that it can be done right, so long as you just slightly nudge the character into being more deliberately malicious than well intentioned and shortsighted, while keeping their inherent goofiness. Undertale in essence aimed to provide sympathetic explanations for how the stupid-evil villains of adventure stories exist as people, and Underfell merely plays those tropes straight.
Sometimes a straight up evil villain is what people want though. I understand your point but sometimes a story needs a Gaston, a Palpatine, or an Evil Queen but Sometimes it needs a Frankenstein's Monster, a Vader, or a Jack Napier.

Honestly canon Underfell is more melancholic, gothic and depressing than edgy. I never liked its fanon "oh we are so edgy and cool and edgy" version, it's more of "Undertale but with much more heavy stuff and nihilistic depression" to me
Underfell Alphys really makes it clear how different the underground works, basically what mostly everyone thought how base undertale would function. The underground here is ran by fear, a way more traditional theme in this that I love in this AU.
The writing, battle, and the music on this one. This is probably one of my favorite well-executed AU boss fights now. Wow, I originally didn't think I'd like this AU.
This fangame was all an experience, when I heard "Here they are" midbattle it was a glorious moment, congrats to the developers, this is one of a hella great fangame, I enjoyed every second playing it
Specially because Sans from UnderFell Is just so dumb, he doesn’t fit Sans at all I can see why they made Papyrus that way, I think he’s cool, but Sans? He retains pretty much nothing from his true personality and his design Is just bad
After so many AU fangames with subpar dialogue, seeing this one knock it out of the park with character writing was the first clue that it was something special.
In the Mettaton Gamma fight I thought the flying head looked like the mechawfuls from Bowsers Inside Story. Seeing Alphys with swirly glasses makes me think that was intentional

This mod gives me the same magical vibes from Undetale Red. Either something completely original or based off something that lacks mainstream attention but still has potential, the story and execution for this was fantastic. What a wonderful experience this mod was and I hope the creator is proud of the masterpiece he’s created. (Also I love how they executed the idea of a royal scientist combatant)

I feel like people downplay how dangerous Alphys would be if she were actually evil, because she's tracking you the instant you leave The Ruins, and some of her traps genuinely can't be beat without her help, which pretty much hard-counters the player's resetting ability that normally makes a direct fight with them completely fruitless.
Imma be honest, I hope this underfell's asgore is handled like regular asgora, aka, being seen as even more of a villain than he actually is. Edit: 490 likes what

This looks like an Underfell version of Inverted Fate and I'm all for it! Inverted Fate was already one of the best AUs, and I've always loved the more in depth Underfell takes too. Thanks for giving light to such a well made fangame! okay, so there's already been two people in the last 13 hours who've replied to me because they don't understand what i said and i'm expecting a lot more. since there's no way i'm replying to each ignorant douchebag individually, i'm making this edit. i know canon underfell isn't just red and edgy, and that it's actually already an in-depth au. i never said it wasn't. i said this game looks in depth specifically because of the battle system and concepts, like being able to use tp and fighting characters in unique circumstances that you usually wouldn't. maybe instead of assuming i'm the dumbass, actually think before you mindlessly type angry responses to an otherwise kind comment

Yep, best Underfell Alphys fight I've seen. Both this and Mettaton's fight are awesome. The attacks are so extreme but so much that it looks too anoying to deal with and they actually look awesome like in the actual game. The music is awesome and so are just the characters. I hope there will be more to the story like this, such as with Undyne and Asgore.
Im guessing before asgore there would be sans Right? Since in regular undertale the narrative is to spare, meanwhile here the monsters are meant to be villains, and if sans only fights when there is an anomaly, sparing everyone is the anomaly

it probably depends on which route you decide to go, apparently this animation us takinh the idea of Flowey chosing by going with Frisk's ideal of being a pacifist, so going to the Trust or Closure route, and the Betrayal route being Flowey forcing Frisk to do stuff they dont want to (like pin the monsters with each other, or use his vines to force them to hold a knife in order to kill boss monsters)

I want a full count of how many Jetpack Joyride references were in their fights. The chain laser beams, the rockets, the hydraulic presses making the same sound as the L'il Stomper.
It took me way too long to realize that most of the attacks in phase 2 are either based off of or at least resemble the hazards in Jetpack Joyride, even down to the sound that the blue lasers make when charging up.
IT'S SO FUCKING GOOD! It's the best battle I've ever seen in my life, for I've never fought a straight battle with Alphys. Everywhere I looked, there was always only Sans, papyrus and sometimes asgore
