Wow! I appreciate the reply sir! That’s actually very interesting to hear about the end papers. I would have loved to have seen what creative ideas you had. I just figured maybe Folio Society didn’t want to go too over the top so they decided on plain green. Thank you so much for your brilliant work!
+Francis Vallejo I don't know how I missed your comment earlier, but I want to add my voice in admiration for your work on this edition. We often think of illustration and design work as being 'beautiful', but it's not often we can praise a wok for being so damn fun and mischievous. Your work on Anansi Boys is more than a feather in FS's cap. It's panache!
This is one edition I bought strictly for the art and art direction of the book. Incredible production for the price! The video with the artist is worth watching as well. The chapter headings form an animated flip-book story all on their own.
Thanks for sharing! Very nice to get to see this edition up close. :-) Also... I don't own the FS ed. of I AM Legend, so someone else probably posted a review of that one! ;-)
You showed the book off really well in this video. Although I haven't read this novel by Neil Gaiman, I have read Stardust which has become a favourite book of mine. I would love for Folio Society to do an edition of that. Thanks for a really good video.
cathouse caller Wow! Thank you so much. I got a little scattered because my son started crying in the background. Glad you liked it! I need to read Stardust! I’ve heard great things and actually own a copy! I would love to see Folio Society take it on!
Glad you enjoyed the book! Very considerate review :) There was even more crazier plans for the end papers, but we had to hold off due to logistics.
