Woah! Having you guys watch and comment is such an honor! Yes, his artwork is astounding and it is such a lovely edition. I hope to show off more Folio editions in the future. Thank you so much for your incredible publications!
I bought FS Anansi Boys edition strictly for the art. Francis went above and beyond! I will read it at some point after I finish your Book of the New Sun. Equally gorgeous.
Ahhh. I can still remember my first Easton Press. It was "Player Piano" signed by Vonnegut. I still treasure it. I understand people that are not enthused with Easton Press but I find their books nice enough (and their deluxe editions really gorgeous). What I don't like about them is that they don't deliver in Europe. As for Folio, they always deliver at reasonable prices (and when I say reasonable I usually compare with Suntup's artist editions...).
I'm very jealous of your signed Vonnegut! I discovered Easton Press too late to get any of his signed titles, but I've seen photos of people's collections with numerous signed Vonnegut titles from EP. I had no idea that they didn't deliver to Europe though! And yeah, Folio is great shipping-wise. Even their US shipping isn't too terrible. Their US dollar conversions are a bit rough sometimes. I believe it was their George RR Martin titles that were like $50 USD more than what each price actually converted to. But we don't have to pay VAT or import taxes, so I guess it's a wash.
@@Splync_TooManyBooks Yeah. Easton Press doesn't ship to Europe mainly because of copyright issues. Buying them in the secondary market is an expensive hobby and I have stopped it. As for Folio, since I live in the UK for the last two years, shipping and exchange is not really an issue. Their limited editions are great (although sometimes they utterly fail like Dune, but that's rare). Their edition of Gargantua and Pantagruel is a masterpiece.
Thank you! It was probably the most extreme contrast I could have done, given the very different art styles. I have another Easton Press title coming soon (Sword of Shannara), but my comparison for that won't be as drastic.
Sadly, Easton Press isn't shipping to Canada presently. I was about to make a purchase of a very stunning edition last evening before my order was red flagged. Oh, well. I await their explanation.
Wow, this is lovely! It's wonderful to hear you are enjoying Folio's edition of Anansi Boys - Francis did such incredible work for it :)

This was a great contrast of the two primary “deluxe mainstream” publishers, and really illustrates the differences between the two.
