But this pick hopefully makes up for missing out on Hawkins and passing on Whitmore last year draft.

@@messyart-d5d Yes they will. The Lakers suck and Memphis and the Rockets will finish above them. Lakers also have no way to get much better, they are going to be out the playoff next year
Every draft, someone projected to go 1-12 the night of the draft slides into the teens or even 30s. Lakers needed some more shooting and they got a good one in Dalton Knecht.
I've actually never seen him play, but thought the exact same thing after a few highlights, plus he's a better defender and better passer quite frankly.
Teams around 12 to 16 tend to make promises to players in the hopes that the player won’t work out for other teams in front of them. They don’t wanna break that promise because it destroys the relationship with the agent and makes their word worthless. These teams in the 13-16 range didn’t even work out Dalton because they didn’t think he would be there and they already made promises to other players. It’s simple as that, at least which teams between 12 and 16. Pelinka is well known for breaking his word though, so a promise from him was useless anyways
Dalton is going to thrive with the Lakers. He will get so many good open shots playing with Lebron. He was clutch in college and that should translate to the NBA
I personally think the Grizzlies taking Edey gave us this chance because I think that shook up the draft enough where teams were scrambling to change who they were picking since he jumped almost 10 spots in his draft placement.

Kevin Durant is a sneaky possible pick up at the trade deadline If the suns arent top five or six in the west.
