This sounds like synesthesia to me where there is a cross referencing between different senses. I have it in that I associate numbers with different colors. It isn’t a mental illness it just means our brains are wired differently.
Not exactly the same , but my brain has a BUNCH of different tendencies like this and I’ve noticed it for YEARS now. Although the difference between mine and yours is my weird repetitive and uncontrolled thoughts are always changing. Like one month it might be one thing , and another month it might be another thing , but I can’t understand why my brain wants to think of these things. Some really bother me and others are almost comforting. I can relate to what your saying with numbers too, some feel better to even think about then others lool

I do a very similar thing. I see the keyboard in my head with smaller words sometimes and use the T9 texting to spell it out lol. I feel ya
