My dad’s sister live in Florida and has for 20 years and yet I don’t think she has ever had her home destroyed by a hurricane.
Guys, please be safe. Put your shutters up, and grab everything you need from places... this is serious and it will damage somehow. If you live in Florida (like me) please be safe and be protected!
Wind energy is proportional to velocity cubed, an 80 mph wind has 8 times the energy, [destructive power] of a 40 mph wind.
If the storm follows the most westward possibility of the projections then it would move up along the west side of Florida but stay over the warm Gulf of Mexico. In that case it would not be reduced by interaction with the land and would remain as strong all the way up the west coast of Florida.
I dont understand why it would turn north instead of going west toward alabama.
