Honda CRX - B20 /VTEC Conversion In 20 Minutes!

The CRX is FINALLY getting it's Type R VTEC head installed! I've had many setbacks in the process of making this video, regarding components that were missed and parts that didn't fit quite right. For something that has been done so many times, this actually turned out to be quite frustrating, perhaps mostly because it is suppose to be so simple. Murphy's law hitting home here!
This is such a HUGE milestone for this car, after this head has been sitting on a shelf for over 6 years waiting to be installed. My CRX is finally getting back to it's former glory (previously a b20vtec swap back in 2015 before dropping a valve.)

Just got my first Honda a few weeks ago ( EK Coupe )and it already has a B20b and LS (?) trans swapped in it. Got lucky and found a rust free one in my area! I love this little thing man, after a bit of restoration I'm going go VTEC! So excited!

They are a ton of fun! LS trans usually set you at about just under 3k rpm in 5th at 70mph if I recall. My gsr trans sits at just over 4k rpm at 70mph. There's a transmission gear/mph calculator out there for b series trans. Worth looking into

Subscribed! Yeah those dowels can be a real pain. The Golden Eagles seem to fit just right around the treads. So satisfying finally getting it started!

Gsr and ls/b20vtec arp headstuds are the same that's what we used for the last 20 years to do this lol

Gsr and b16 head casting is different. Type R head is a b16 head with dual intake valve springs
LS and B20 are the same though.

I drilled them out till they fit. It sucked. 10/10 don't recommend. Just get the golden eagle dowels.
