Is McDonald's New $5 Meal Actually Worth It?

🍔 The McDonald's $5 Value Meal is coming June 25, but is it actually a good deal?
And how does it compare to the Burger King $5 "Your Way Meal"?
🍟 Both meals include your choice of sandwich, 4pc nuggets/McNuggets, small (or "value" at Burger King) fries, and small drink.
At McDonald's your sandwich choices are a McDouble or McChicken.
At Burger King your sandwich choices are a Whopper Jr., Bacon Cheeseburger, or Chicken Jr.
⚖️ The meals are so similar that the hot food from the two restaurants we ordered from today were the exact same weight!
🤑 You're saving more off the regular price with the $5 McDonald's meal, but that's just because McDonald's prices for most items in most cities are higher to start with. Depending on where you live, you'll save $2-$8. The average was around 45% savings. The biggest savings are in New York City, where the $5 meal is 62.9% cheaper than the regular price of more than $13 for these 4 menu items.
⏳ The McDonald's meal deal is expected to only stick around for about a month, while Burger King has noted that their meal will be available much longer. That said, for how snarky Burger King has been about the McDonald's deal's duration, we had a hard time finding the Burger King meal available to order at several locations, as they seem to be running out of their "value" sized cups.
