In 1971 dad was the acting RSM at Pucka and my brothers and I used to play on all those old Tanks. They weren't under cover in those days, the museum was a just dirt car park and the tanks were parked in three lines. Every morning we'd wake up to the sound of the Centurions starting up and the squeal of their tracks on the concrete as they rolled out of the hangers. Your video brought back a lot of good memories, many thanks!
I'm glad that brought back such good memories
A true credit to all those involved. Thank you.
Great video. Thanks, 👍.
At the moment , this museum is closed for relocation , hopefully reopening in 2024
Will be visiting this place in August. Cant wait :)
Nice. You'll love it, nice drive out there too
@@crazysithslave I'll be coming from Mt Buller :)
the vehicle at 6.23 is a Leopard. The vehicle at 6.50 is a US WWII landing craft
In the 80’s I went to Pukka and my uncle was a Sergeant (ret) and he showed us “his tank”. I was under 10 but I remember it because ng the only captured tank that was taken to Vietnam. It sat on a concrete block and had an awesome ndividual name like “the baby doll” or something. Can anyone confirm this and that it wasn’t a young mind making it up? Russell Angus was his name. Haven’t been in touch with that side of the family but would be interested to know if anyone can confirm this. Looks like Pukka step up its game in the last 30years. Looks great.
Not sure about that but yes the place is awesome. I'd love to go back again
Thanks for responding Sim. I appreciate it. I’ll have to go myself and have a look. Glad you loved it. I’m sure I will as well! I have to give credit to Pukka and our boys throughout the years. Makes me proud.
thatsa cool museum that pukapunyal
Excellent even! Great video. Nice little museum that, thanks for sharing.
No probs, it's a really cool place, was happy to share it. Thanks for watching and making a comment
@@crazysithslave pleasure. It's difficult visiting anything at the moment. I live in France, there's a good tank museum in Samur about 4 hours for me. Of course Bovington is just across the water. Once things improve I'll be taking a trip to both. Thanks again for your post!
Arse biscuits! Fek arse industries!
Good selection of kit that very impressive. Bit like coberton combat museum.
Yes, although I haven't been there I know of it and seems very similar. Are you in the UK yourself?
@@crazysithslave I am, Wales in fact,
my twin brother commented and sent me a link, he is in France
What vehicle was that at 6:23? It still looks fairly new, but haven't seen one like it before. The long shape of it. Maybe it's an old leopard tank.
And also the weird concept looking thing at 6:50. It looks pretty cool, 👍.
I think the first was a mobile artillery piece...... and the 2nd was in the amphibious section.... might have been a ww2 flame thrower tank or transport.... sorry cannot remember, you'll have to go and see for yourself 👍
No commentary and not even close-ups of the signs. Not a tank guy I guess.
Lol just a quick run through, you want detail? you'll have to go yourself. Its well worth it 👍
