Title: “ Laying Down Our Rights”
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 8:1-8
Purpose Statement: How are Christians free in Christ? Paul begins about “food sacrificed to idols.” The context of the Corinthians church they ate at the church for special things and took home food. When people bought food in the market they didn’t know if the food was sacrificed to idols or not. What is an idol? What is agreed upon with Paul? How does Paul qualify his statements? Why do people think more of themselves than they should? Paul addresses people who think they know and understand some things too much. Anytime we think we know more than we do know, it’s a sure sign we don’t know something.
