- You're in a conversation and someone says, "Jesus was a good teacher, but he wasn't God."
What would you say?
Many people instinctively like Jesus, but they’re not ready to call him God. They want him to be another Moses, Confucius, or Buddha. They want him to be just a wise human teacher. Here’s the problem: Jesus didn’t leave that option open to us. He unambiguously and repeatedly claimed deity, and no one who lied in that way could ever be a good moral teacher.
So, the next time someone says “Jesus was a good teacher, but he wasn’t God,” here are three things to remember.
First, Jesus claimed to be God again and again.
Second, if we can’t trust the gospels on Jesus’ claims to be God, we can’t trust them on his moral teaching, either.
Third, if Jesus wasn’t God, he couldn’t have said the things he said and still be considered a good teacher.

That is correct! John who wrote that also wrote:
'No man has SEEN God at ANY TIME.' - 1 John 4:12,20.
That rules Jesus out from being God as he had been SEEN.
For a second think about this: How could the most powerful God cannot forgive those who repent without human sacrifice? The act committed bt the Roman who murdered Jesus was in itself greatest sin! How could a great sin became an atonement for others' sins? Great sinful act to atone others' sin???

(Romans 5:18) So, then, as through one trespass (Adam's sin) the result to men of all sorts was condemnation, so too through one act of justification (Jesus' ransom sacrifice) the result to men of all sorts is their being declared righteous for life.

If Jesus made any statement that he was God, it isn't recorded in the Bible.
Here is a simple unambiguous statement made by someone very close to Jesus.
'No man has SEEN God at ANY TIME.' - 1 John 4:12,20.
Unless no one actually saw Jesus, he logically couldn't have been God at ANY or even SOME TIME.

The Jewish priests were trying to find some excuse to do away with Jesus.
Like earlier, their claim that Jesus was a blasphemer was FALSE.
Blasphemy was an action against God's name.
Jesus claiming that he was God's son had no connection to blasphemy.
The only charge the priests could bring upon Jesus in order to PUT HIM TO DEATH WAS BLASPHEMY.
So, they TRUMPED UP FALSE CHARGES against Jesus.

@@ex-trinitarian5196 I love that verse, Jesus is God in the flesh and is the mediator between us and the Father. This does not in any way make Jesus less divine, on the contrary, it places Jesus as the one and only savior , making himself God.

I have never heard in a christian church (orthodox, catholic or protestant) the claim that Jesus is God. Where is this false debate coming from? The christian belief is that Jesus is the Son of God, sent as a prophet. He lived on Earth as a man, giving us a benchmark as to how we should live after the will of God, with the capabilities that we are given as humans. He underlines that we are all sons / daughters of God (and God is our only Father). Throughout the Gospels, He always underlines that He is there to accomplish God's will, not His own. He prays to God all the time. He indicates that there are things that He doesn't know, only God does. The Holly Spirit is the matter of God, not a person. As Jesus says, God gives Holly Spirit to those who ask. When Jesus says "I and the Father are one" (John:30), He explains that He means they are fully conected, of the same mindest, on the same wavelengh.
If you're willing, then please explain the verses below. If Jesus is NOT God then why would Jesus declare Himself as the First and the Last? a title that was RESERVED to God/YHWH in the Old Testament.
A. Jesus declared in the New Testament:
Revelation 1:17-18:
"Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades."
B. God/YHWH declared in the Old Testament:
Isaiah 44:6:
"I am the first and I am the last,
And there is no God besides Me."
See, "NO God besides Me". If Jesus is NOT the same God/YHWH in the Old Testament basing from both declarations (above) then Jesus just committed the gravest of all blasphemy there is against God. Is Jesus capable of SIN?

@@TheWitness-fx4xq First of all, thank you for the polite approach. It seems to me that many are quick to attack those who understand things in a different way. Let's be honest, we are all trying to make sense of this life, as people have always done from when they were painting on cave walls. We don't even know that much about life on Earth, and Earth is an infinitely small dot in the universe. So, if we don't really know anything about the universe we live in, why would we imagine ourselves capable of understanding God and his realm wihth our minds.
@@TheWitness-fx4xq So, comming back to your question... I don't know. There are many things I don't understand in the Revelation. Still, it starts with "The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place". So it makes a separation from the begining between God and Jesus. In the following pages, God and The Lamb are presented as clearly different beings. In other passages, you might interpret that he speaks of the same person.
@@TheWitness-fx4xq It's obvious to me that none of us will get the understand the absolute truth in this life, with our minds. My best bet would be to try to feel it with the heart. And, maybe, each could be given a slightly different feel of the truth in his own heart. Maybe they are not in contradiction, even if to the logics of the mind they seem that way.

If you are willing, let me tell you a secret to understanding all these things according to what I believe is true to my heart and with the unction of the Holy Spirit who is in me. It all boils down to the "WHAT" (being or nature) and the "WHO" (person).
For humans:
1 WHAT --> human
1 WHO --> e.g. John
For God:
1 WHAT --> God
3 WHO(s) --> Father, Son and Holy Spirit (with distinct personalities or persons, able to communicate and interact on their own).
Unitarians would find it hard to believe that Jesus is God because of the things that He said that seems to contradict with the ONE God belief system, but for Trinitarians everything that He said just fits perfectly of being the second person in the Holy Trinity where He can communicate to the Father constantly and able to address the Holy Spirit as a person.
Regardless, this is what I believe to be true in my heart, yours may differ but know this, that I will always respect your belief.

How a man was to look like was not known except God made him to be like him, yet no one has seen how God looks like but there are people who saw Jesus and he told them that who has seen him has seen the father (God).
The controversy on the nature of Jesus Christ has been going on since the dawn of Christianity and it is still live and kicking even now. In my opinion, the best way for anyone to decide on the nature of Christ is to read the Gospels thoroughly and focus on everything Christ said and then decide for himself or herself.

They knew that in saying he was "the Son of Man" who would come "on the clouds of heaven" he was making an overt reference to the Son of Man in Daniel's prophecy (Daniel 7:13-14). In doing so, He was not only claiming to be the preexistent Sovereign of the Universe but also prophesying that He would vindicate His claim by judging the very court that was now condemning Him. Moreover, by combining Daniel's prophecy with David's proclamation in Psalm 110, Jesus was claiming that He would sit upon the throne of Israel's God and share God's very glory. To students of the Old Testament this was the height of "blasphemy," thus "they all condemned him as worthy of death" (Mark 14:64-65).

from all what I read above I didn't find the verse saying "and Jesus said i am your god", and saying he's god because he preexisted isn't a valid claim coz many beings other than god pre existed before us, angels for example, Earth for example. he does he have power yes but that doesn't mean anyone with power is god.

@@larcsnistion9061 A verse cant settle a whole debate when there are a significant number of other verses that support my claim. The father is the only true God, and the father and the Son are one. We are blessed to have been given the divine truth, it does not come from our own understanding of the texts. The apostles Gods closet companions wrote these texts and through the Holy Spirit helped us understand the meaning of these events.

SHALL BE, WILL BE CALLED are futuristic in tense.
That would mean that UNTIL the PROPHECY is fulfilled, Jesus was NOT any of those titles.

So yes future to Isaiah in his prophecy of a child being equated to The mighty God. Jesus IS all of those titles... and claimed it in the Gospels Hope that is helpful to you. You can reject his claims but he certainly made them and was killed for it.

Jesus only became a mighty god AFTER his return to heaven when God promoted him to a higher position.

Jesus is still to become 'everlasting father'. This will happen once humans get everlasting life on earth after the 1,000 year rule of Jesus. Jesus' sacrificial ransom made it possible (John 3:16)..
@@tongakhan230 You are correct in that had he not have taken on humanity he could not have died at the hands of men. However he existed as the Great I Am (God) before and in eternity past. The Word (Jesus Christ) became flesh and also was with God and was God as John told us.

God set Jesus apart for a reason and SENT him to become a human. God cannot do such to himself. That would make no sense.
We must believe what the Bible teaches. Trying to impute ideas into scriptures not intended by the writers will only give us balm on our conscience. But it will be self deception.
What would I say? I think it's best to show what we believe by living out what we believe.

I am confused because Jesus said that he was the Son of God. I found this: In The Encyclopedia Americana we read: “Christianity derived from Judaism and Judaism was strictly Unitarian [believing that God is one person]. The road which led from Jerusalem to Nicea was scarcely a straight one. According to Christain's belief, God is a spirit. right so every spirit of God is God.
The problem I have with the line, “Before Adam was I Am”, on its own, is that it doesn’t outright specify that he’s talking about himself. Again, on its own, that line can be read that Jesus was referencing YHWH/The Father. Which would, I imagine, extend to the Spirit of God/Holy Spirit.
Edit: “Before Abraham”, rather, “was I Am”. Kind of weird he didn’t say Adam, though. But, whatever.
Edit II: A better line is the translation used from the Douay-Rheims version where it says, “Before Abraham was made, I am”. Still raises questions, though.

The argument was, either we believe that Jesus is God or just a good moral human teacher. But what if we one believes that Jesus was the first of God’s creation (a heavenly being), making Jesus “The Son of God”? What if one believes that Jesus was given the God’s Spirit to create the human race, “let us make man in our image”, syndrome? Perhaps that why Jesus felt deeply responsible for his ransom sacrifice of the human race. Many people who don’t believe in a trinity, don’t also believe that Jesus was just “a good teacher.” My comment is not meant to be controversial, but given with all respect and empathy 🙏

With regards to Jesus words about “I and the Father are one”, if we look at the context around that verse Jesus goes on to say, “May they be one (his followers etc) as we are one.” It is obvious that Jesus was speaking of unity. I sincerely don’t object to a person’s belief system in regards to how they see Jesus, Lord knows there are many differing views. It when I see Trinitarians condemning non-Trinitarians, and vice-versa.. In my humble opinion I’d rather see Christians judging on the Bible’s moral code rather than on theological bias. Christians have persecuted, and even killed each other, over theological bias, and at the same time failed to obey 1 Cor 6:9-11. I’ve spent time with many churches of Christendom, JW’s, Christadelphians, and isolated groups who don’t want to associated with mainstream Christianity. I’ve seen theology used as a weapon to shun, belittle, and outright condemnation of other believers, but yet, Christ Jesus royal law of love discarded at the slightest difference in theological bias. If one is a trinitarian, then by all means live out that believe, and vice-versa, but remember that one will be judged on the basis on Scriptures such as 1 Cor 6:9-11, not on one’s religious group’s theology 🙏

I was not convinced by the claim that we can't trust his moral teaching if we cant trust Jesus was God. Why not? It appears perfectly plausible to cherry pick my own interpretation. Why is it wrong?
Because the same account indicates that he said both things. If one is cherry-picking a version of Jesus from the quotes that one likes, one is creating a fictional composite character based on pieces of the real one. One would be free to believe what they like about this composite character, but those things would not be true of the actual Jesus that said both the things that they liked, and the things that they didn't.
In short, the moral teachings and the claims of godhood come from the same person. If half of what he said is untrustworthy, why should the other half be? Cherry-picking creates a Jesus that one may like and be comfortable with, but those cherry-picked quotes still come from someone who claimed to be God, and was either lying about that (in which case those cherry-picked quotes come from a liar, don't trust them), crazy (in which case those cherry-picked quotes come from a crazy person, don't trust them), or telling the truth (in which case, sure, enjoy those cherry-picked quotes, but also... that means that some serious consideration is due to the fact that Jesus is God).
Sticking with the cherry-picked version but ignoring the fact that the person one is cherry-picking from is either a tainted source, or God (but whatever he is, is not merely a truthful, sane mere human being) is... well, it's certainly something one could do. But it would represent a disingenuous and intellectually-dishonest (and ultimately-pointless) endeavor of living in denial and either missing out on a very important part of reality, or accepting and applying wisdom from a tainted source that is probably not very wise at all.

No, obviously Jesus was praying that they would be united in thought and purpose, as he and God were.-See also 1 Corinthians 1:10.
At 1 Corinthians 3:6, 8, Paul says: “I planted, Apollos watered . . . He that plants and he that waters are one.” Paul did not mean that he and Apollos were two persons in one; he meant that they were unified in purpose. The Greek word that Paul used here for “one” (hen) is neuter, literally “one (thing),” indicating oneness in cooperation. It is the same word that Jesus used at John 10:30 to describe his relationship with his Father. It is also the same word that Jesus used at John 17:21, 22. So when he used the word “one” (hen) in these cases, he was talking about unity of thought and purpose.
Regarding John 10:30, John Calvin (who was a Trinitarian) said in the book Commentary on the Gospel According to John: “The ancients made a wrong use of this passage to prove that Christ is . . . of the same essence with the Father. For Christ does not argue about the unity of substance, but about the agreement which he has with the Father.”
Right in the context of the verses after John 10:30, Jesus forcefully argued that his words were not a claim to be God. He asked the Jews who wrongly drew that conclusion and wanted to stone him: “Why do you charge me with blasphemy because I, consecrated and sent into the world by the Father, said, ‘I am God’s son’?” (John 10:31-36, NE) No, Jesus claimed that he was, not God the Son, but the Son of God.

Jesus told His disciples of His own pre-existence when He told them of His personal involvement with every prophet that ever lived in Luke 24:27 and this fact is repeated by Peter in 1 Peter 1:10-12 and 2 Peter 1:21. God is a spirit (John 4:24), He is the HOLY Spirit - and Jesus IS that Spirit as Romans 8:9 makes plain.
No mortal man's spirit can indwell anybody, nor could it accomplish all that the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ is recorded to have accomplished in God's inerrant Word. Explain to yourself how Jesus (He AND the Father) can indwell us as John 14:21-23 makes perfectly plain, if He is just a man. The entire book of Revelation was given to John by THE SPIRIT of Jesus Christ and Jesus claims in many ways in that book to be God Almighty. The Bible tells us that no man is without sin, does it not? (1 John 1:8) How is it then that Jesus Christ lived a 100% sinless life (2 Cor. 5:21; 1 John 3:5) in order to become the perfect unblemished sacrifice to destroy the sins of all mankind?
No man could EVER have accomplished that feat. You have a lot of explaining to do to yourself in order to continue to believe such a flimsy, and blasphemously unsound, doctrine. Better get to work reconciling all of the countless passages of Scripture that reveal Jesus Christ to BE God Almighty.

What He would most likely have said in Aramaic was "Abwoon d'bishmaya" not "God" or "Father". Abwoon d'bishmaya translates as Great Creator or Womb from which all creation comes. This makes a HUGE difference. It also changes the tone of other sayings like, "I and the Creator are one" and "If you have seen me you have seen the Creator".

As orthodox christian I have never heard that Jesus is the true God. He claimed that he is "son of God" and tell to people that there is a one true God and people have to serve on this God, not on himself. He said that he`s send by God to save humanity by their sins.

So in Isaiah 9, it talks about someone who reigns after David and establishes justice and righteousness. First of all, Father has never told mankind his name, nor has he met us, nor will he until The First Resurrection (Only to them at that time) aka w/o sin and have been made spirit beings.
Next John 1:1-3 tells us that "GOD" is a family name that Father in Heaven, is the Father of.
Next, it tells us that the God family has only 2 members in it for now, Father and The Word... which is a job title which means Spokesman aka Father's Manager.

You do not know correctly of History....at all.
1. Father in Heaven's first act (creating) was Creating a Manager. To help and be his Worker and Father would work through this being.
2. This being was given a job title called "THE WORD". Which means, spokesman aka Father's Manager. To carry out Father aka Supervisor above all commands etc...
3. All things were created using "Father's Spiritual Blood" called "THE HOLY SPIRIT". Which Father's Manager used in creating their home Heaven. Later, other spirit beings were created in a massive amount called angles.
4. 3 Archangels were created (Lucifer, Michael and Gabriel) in which, the entire host of angles were divided into 1/3's and each third, was given over to one of the 3 archangels to command.
5. Before the creation of all this however, Father created Government. Father, The Word and soon to be created archangels would be of this Government and some of the regular angles as well would be seated upon this council.
6. Father's character, which is the Government.... was created to protect the angles and other creations in spirit existence from sin. At their creation points, Father cannot duplicate his Character into spirit beings (This is why Physical Existence was created for/us. For within it, time is much slower and Father can craft and mold his Character into us). For it requires time to be molded and crafted into beings and spirit existence does not allow. For time for such a complex matter of perfect Character to be created in an instant into a being cannot be achieved in Spirit Existence. 12. Father's Manager then stripped all blessing from all 10 bloodlines of the house of Israel and placed upon them punishments for 2,520 years. This time was up around the 1800's.
13. This is when The Creation of the New House of Israel came into being that The Word put into effect long ago (back up plan) which brought the bloodlines of Manasseh and Ephraim (2 sons of Joseph's) into the House of Israel bringing it's total from 10 to 12 bloodlines.
14. These 2 bloodlines would later go on the create, Great Britain and The United States of America. GB being the younger son Ephraim bloodline and USA being the eldest son Manasseh's bloodline.

16. This creation stopped Father in Heaven from ending mankind again.

I’d like to clear up things for people. We take the most simplest things and add so much onto it that we dumb it down. God is simply a position and not even a name. It’s the same with calling your parents mom and dad 😂 Even though Jesus is God, even though the Father is God, the relationship is that the son heeds to the Father. When Jesus was on earth he says, I don’t do anything unless my Father says so. He was here to accomplish what His Father wills. So even though Jesus is God, I need to make this clear! God is not a name, God is a position. So what we believe in the church of Christ is that the position of God, there’s the Father, there is the Son, there is the Holy Spirit and they are all working together in our lives. We are made in the image of God, we have a spirit, a body, and a soul and they are all you, so when we say God, just like there are 3 parts of you, your body is not your soul, when you die, your soul goes up to the father to be judged. So, your soul is not your body, and your spirit is not your soul, they’re all 3 different. In order for you to become living, God had to breathe spirit into you so you can become a living soul. The spirit goes, the body goes, then the soul stands on judgment day. The spirit is why we can control our thoughts, we have to be careful what we feed our spirit to lead the body in the right way. The Holy Spirit connects with the spirit to teach us how to be holy and righteous.

The statement he made means to be good you have to be God. And since he did not reject him being called good, he is clearly claiming that he is God.

In the passage above Malachi speaks of a messenger one that will prepare the way for the Lord, this is none other than John the Baptizer who is foretold in Isa.40:3-4. He is.......

Mt. 11:10 quotes this as a confirmation of John the Baptizer as the one who will introduce the *_LORD_* and *_OUR GOD_* . “For this is he of whom it is written: 'Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who will prepare Your way before You.'
So..... Who was the one that came after John the Baptizer? It was JESUS. But wait....According to Malachi the one that comes after John the Baptizer is the same one that made the covenant with Moses.... How can this be? Was it not God that made the covenant with Moses? Yes it was.....But it was Jesus that came after John the Baptizer and not God?.... Could Malachi be wrong? ....Or is it simply that God himself did actually come to the earth and visit his temple as Jesus right after John the Baptizer did. Exactly as Malachi said he would...

Consider a computer software engineer. He creates a program let's say a robotic screen saver. He tells the program what to do, how to behave and so on. The computer software engineer does not take a piece of his hair, a piece of his nail or anything from his being and put it into the computer program where the code for his robot is. The creation does NOT become the creator it's impossible. At the same time the robotic screen saver does not know what just created him. Now imagine if that robotic had ZERO knowledge of anything outside his program. Do you think he can guess/imagine how his CREATOR looks like? If anything he will assume it must look like him since that's all he knows. Same goes for ALLAH he's beyond anything imaginable because we just can't comprehend what's has not been programmed for us to understand.
Another example could be making pancakes 🥞. You gather the ingredients, you add the ingredients, you cook the food and WALAH! In no point in time did YOU(the Creator) sliced your finger off and added it to your dish. Again there's a clear separation between the Creator and the creation.

The word "empty" in Philippians 2:7 is G2758 in Strong's concordance. The KJV renders it as "made himself of no reputation. The word was used 5 times in the New Testament. The other 4 places it was used are:

Dear Tonga, the Bible was not written in English. And sometimes, the words which are translated do not mean the same thing as we use the word today. Find what word was used, where else was it used in the Greek, what does it mean everywhere else it was used. In those 4 other passages, there is no way "EMPTY" would fit exactly. Let us not superimpose our understanding on the Bible, rather we should let the Bible communicate this understanding to us.

Thus, in that context, verse 7 tells us that Jesus emptied himself of his SPIRIT form.

Why did John write that the Word WAS a god at 1:1?
WAS is the past tense of IS.
That meant that Jesus had been an angel. But no longer was an angel while on earth. He had shed that form and become a human (John 1:14).

Jesus makes clear that he is God's son (John 10:36).

Angels are not in the form of God. Though they were referred to as "sons of God", they had no miracle they perform to distinguish themselves. They bring God's message to the men they encounter and it ends there. The angels do not live with men for years. Even in the ESV you use, Jesus is called "THE Son of God", not "A son of God".
John 1:1 says the Word was God. Nowhere does it say 'a god'.
"In the beginning" is a phrase denoting something in the past. It only makes sense to use "was". You cannot say "In the beginning is..." You make a false statement in saying Jesus was an angel, and then was no longer an angel. When scripture says, "Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter" in John 1:44, does it mean that Philip is no longer from Bethsaida? Of course not. Philip IS from Bethsaida, but because the past is being spoken of, WAS was used instead.
John 3:1 says, "There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews". Does it mean that when John was writing, Nicodemus was no longer a Pharisee? No. Basic usage of verbs. Stop imposing your own meaning.

An angel can never be the exact imprint of God's nature. An angel cannot uphold the universe. Very ridiculous to hand pick instead of reading everything together.

Notice the quotations. I didn't put them, they are in the ESV. God says of the Son in verse 8, "Your throne, O God..." God cannot call an angel God. God cannot promote an angel to God and call the angel God. You are speaking against the clear revelation of scripture. Still with what God says of the Son, verse 10 says, "You, Lord..." An angel cannot be the Lord of our God. There is no promotion from angelhood.
The word "companions" is "metochos". It was used in Luke 5:7 as "partners", Hebrews 3:1 as "partakers", Hebrews 3:14 as "partakers", Hebrews 6:4 as "partakers", Hebrews 12:8 as "partakers". Every other place after Hebrews 1:9, the word was used for the new creation, the believers who have been adopted into the family of God (Gal 4:5, Rom 8:15).
Look at James 1:18 - Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
1 Cor 15:20 - But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
1 Cor 15:23 - But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ.
Romans 11:16 - For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.

*It is IMPORTANT to understand this now*
Jesus is the one being recognized as the firstfruit. Why/How? This is because He is the first man to be raised from the dead. He had human flesh, he ate, slept, got tired. He was a man. He was crucified and God raised Him up. Scripture doesn't stop there. God raised Jesus as proof of the promise that more men will follow suit. Hence, Rom 8:29 (among many brothers). Jesus was a sign that many brothers after Him would also be raised from the dead.
Back to 'metochos' in Hebrews. The word used everywhere in the Book of Hebrews refers to believers who have become partakers in the heavenly calling, and the Holy Spirit.
Hebrews 2:11 says, *"For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers"*
He is not ashamed to call us brothers because we have been sanctified with Him, and we will also be raised up as He is. This is the same meaning for "companions" being used in Heb 1:9.

According to you, God took one of the angels, made the angel superior to all other angels and equal with God. God then created the world through this promoted angel, and then sent this promoted angel to earth, thereby demoting this angel to a status other angels do not have. Then God elevated this angel again by raising this angel from the dead and giving this angel dominion over everything, but this, this angel cannot be part of the new heaven and the new earth. This is certainly unbiblical.
Why does Matthew the voice from heaven identify Jesus as "my Son"? Let us build the background to it.

Isiah 40:3 says that the voice crying in the wilderness will say, "Prepare the way of the LORD". Of course, LORD in all caps refer to YHWH, the I am. The verse continues to say, "Make straight in the desert a highway for our God". This means that when the people will hear a voice crying in the wilderness, who should they expect? A messenger? A prophet? Moses? An angel? No. They are to expect the LORD, the God of Israel.
We agree that John who came baptizing was that voice (Mark 1:4,). If you don't agree, let us read Matthew.

Prepare the way of the Lord! The Lord God of Israel is coming! This was the proclamation done in the wilderness. It was the Lord who was to come, and it was the Lord who came, not a messenger of the Lord. In Mat 4, Satan calls him "the" Son of God, not "a" son of God. You said Jesus calls Himself the Son of God in John 10:36. Let us examine the conversation in context (John 10:22-42). In John 10:27-28, Jesus says that His sheep hear His voice and He gives them eternal life. But God is the only one who can give life. Why is Jesus claiming to give life? What was the response of the Jews?
John 10:33 - The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.”
They recognized that Jesus was claiming to be the God of Israel, they knew it was blasphemy and they wanted to punish Him for it. Same thing in John 5:17-18. Jesus is God but He is not the Father. That is the distinction being made. The Jews only recognized the Father as God, but Jesus is coming saying that He is not the Father, but He is still God, hence, the Son of God.
You ask Whom else can God SEND from heaven if not an angel? He can send His Son, who was with Him before anything was ever created, who was with Him before angels were even created. God did not send an angel to ransom mankind. Again, carefully read the first and second chapters of Hebrew.

@One God One Christ well I honestly don't think that they are lying at all I just don't think that they understand. Because when Jesus kinda says that he is God he's not meaning he's actually God, but sense he said that God talks though him and tells him what to do exactly. So when the bible kinda says Jesus is God they're saying that because God is the one talking though Jesus and kinda making Jesus sound like God, because Jesus is still God's son, God is just talking through him telling him what to do if you know what I mean? @Jerome ik I said that a long time ago before I realized that Jesus is God. I thought that how can Jesus be God when sometimes Jesus doesn't know some things that the father does. Now I know that Jesus is God the father is God the holy spirit is God but Jesus is not the father, the father is not the holy spirit and the holy spirit is not Jesus. Here is a simple scientific truth stated in the Bible.
'No man has SEEN God AT ANY TIME.' - 1 John 4:12,20. Jesus had been SEEN.
I want to add a few simple but powerful points that help validate Yeshua's deity (or that He is GOD):
1) If Yeshua, the Son, is a created being, that would mean there was a time in eternity past when the Father was NOT the Father - clearly implying He DOES change.
2) Most believers agree that the SON of God is the EXACT image and representation of the FATHER- or that the nature of the Son and Father are NO different. If this is true, Yahweh would be incorrect when He said in Isaiah 46 "To whom would you liken Me, and make Me equal and compare Me, that we should be alike?.....I am God and there is NO ONE like Me" (and many other places He says such words). If the Father DOES have someone who is exactly LIKE Him (the Son), but He and the Son are two separate beings or entities, then we are all idolators - and even the FATHER would be guilty of idolatry because He made Yeshua's Name to be above ALL names - not just on earth, but in HEAVEN where Yahweh Himself dwells (Phil.2:10-11)! If there is a distinctly separate being, "god" or angel who shares the exact same qualities/nature of Yahweh, then He cannot possibly be unique or distinct from all other beings, creatures, or gods, and He CAN have equals or others to which He can be compared. The issue of idolatry leads to the next point.......
3) Yeshua said in John 8:58, “Before Abraham was born, I Am.” If we say He was just representing God and speaking as or for God as God’s agent (referring to the cultural law of agency), why would the people want to kill Him for that? And why didn’t Yeshua set the record straight by making it clear that He was only speaking on behalf of God and representing Him, rather than identifying with His essence and Being? There was no law against representation, but there was a law against blasphemy, precisely for which He was accused. He also said in John 8:24,28,13:19, “Unless you believe that I am [He], you will die in your sins; When you lift up the Son of Man, you will know that I am [He]; I am telling you this now, before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe that I am [He].” Most Bibles insert and italicize the word, “He” after, “I am,” indicating that “He” was not in the original manuscripts. The word “He” was added for readability and to conform to standard grammatical rules. Even if the word, “He” was in the original writings, this statement is still a clear reference to and identification with God’s words in verses like Isaiah 43:10, “You are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “My servant who I have chosen, so that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He.”
4) Yahweh or the Father says we are to only worship, serve and follow HIM (Deut.6:14,13:4; I Kings 18:21; Rev.22:9) - but many times Yeshua speaks of us following and serving HIM, and all throughout the New Testament we see people worshipping YESHUA - and says that if the Son be lifted up, He would draw all people to HIM (although we only come to the Father through Him). Yes, many interpret "worship" as "obeisance" (as the JW's do), but I won't delve into that here.
Why didn't Yeshua come right out and say, "I am GOD - worship Me!"? He obviously could have done so, but in order for Him to fulfill His purpose in coming, He purposefully kept the revelation and truth of who He was “under tabs” to some level because had He not chosen to refrain from fully and bluntly revealing His identity, it would have shocked and offended His audience to the core - even more than He already had. He was already accused of blasphemy when He indirectly claimed equality with God or that He is God by saying He is God’s “Son” (John 5:18, 10:31). Being blunt and not keeping the truth partially veiled would have worked against His objective, cutting His earthly ministry much shorter. We even read in John 8:21 and Matthew 16:20 where He strictly warned His disciples NOT to tell everyone that He is the Messiah, and in Matthew 8:4, He told a leper not to tell anyone that He healed Him! If He came to save and to heal, why did in the world would He do that? The same reason He didn’t run an “I am GOD” campaign and the same reason He taught in parables. He didn’t teach parables only because the Hebrew culture learned through story-telling - nor did He do it so that His audience would better understand Him. Yeshua taught in parables for the opposite reason: to keep the revelation of His teachings partially veiled as well as to give Him more time to fulfill His mission before things “got crazy” (Luke 12:47-48; Matt.13:10-17, 9:30-31, 11:25; Prov.25:2; Mark 1:40-45,7:35-36). It was also to draw those who were truly spiritually hungry for God and His kingdom, rather than cheapening it by “plopping” it on a silver platter for everyone to readily gobble up without understanding the depth and cost of their decision. This goes along with the principle of not “throwing pearls to swine” (Matt.7:6), and we read in Proverbs 25:2, it is the GLORY of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings to search it out. This verse says it glorifies the Father for Him to conceal the secrets and mysteries of His nature and kingdom - as it provokes or entices those who are truly hungry to pursue God and the things of His kingdom on deeper levels.
Concerning the “mystery” of God’s nature: the claim that the triune nature of Yahweh is “mysterious” is not a scape goat for the inability to fully comprehend and explain it - nor is it an attempt to silence those who disagree that He is one in essence yet three in Person. It is simply true; God’s nature is mysterious because nothing we know in the natural or material world provides a framework or grid that would enable us to fully grasp or apprehend who He is. If we can’t fully understand even His works in the natural world, as Ecclesiastes 11:5 says, why do we think we’re going to fully grasp Yahweh’s nature? Even if we never fully apprehend or understand the nature of our infinitely glorious God, that’s perfectly fine! Actually, that's how it should be - who wants to worship a God they can wrap their brains around or fully comprehend? Why do we feel the need to have our infinitely glorious God all figured out and make Him fit in our neatly wrapped theological boxes? Only an intellectual requires answers on everything and is uncomfortable with the unknown; only the carnal/natural mind demands explanations and leaves no room for mystery. Yes, Daniel 2:22 says God reveals “deep and secret” things, and Matthew 13:35 says the Lord will (future tense) utter and reveal things “hidden since the foundation of the world.” This of course doesn’t mean everything will be revealed, as we read in Deuteronomy 29:29, “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us….” And Yeshua said in Jonn 16:12 that He had MUCH more to share with His disciples but He couldn't bc they were UNABLE the bear or handle it. In other words, there would be truths and greater revelations the Lord's Spirit would share with His people AFTER His departure throughout history. Some things He will allow to remain either mysterious or even hidden and “secretive,” and even that which has been revealed doesn’t necessarily mean we will fully apprehend it. Again, until we have a gloried body and mind, we will see through a “glass darkly” and know only “in part.”

By all these verses we can easily tell that Jesus is not God nor the son of God It is clear...

God is made by the Son - who is not omnipotent - and by the Father. But the Father - the almighty God - is just a SPIRIT here ("God is a spirit"), aka the "Holy Spirit". This means He is ABSENT because He only dwells in the past, before the start of the universe ("the world has not known you"). But from that distant time He is ABLE TO OBSERVE US and to take actions here. Before getting rid of his power, the Son was that omnipotent God ("He who has seen me has seen the Father"). The Son is now the ONLY ONE really existing non-omnipotent God, the Owner of heaven ("Then the King shall say...). The Holy Spirit inside Him is the Father-Spirit, no one else exists inside Him "I am not ALONE because the Father is with me". The Son sits next to the POWER of God (a thing) because He hasn't got his own. That power had been used for Mary's pregnancy for example "the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee".

When we read the RSV we will read something different:

Jesus was a prophet, but he’s more than a prophet. He was called a prophet because he was preaching the kingdom gospel like John was doing. He is God because he can do *ALL THINGS THAT ONLY GOD CAN DO.* If he can *ALL THINGS* that only God can do then he is God, as only God can do the things by his power.
