  • Dan is one of the most enthusiastic people I've met both on and off the court for handball/wallball. His heart is cemented in Ireland but his experiences on the European Tour is shaping both his own opinion of the sport and those of others back in Ireland when he spreads the word. Always a pleasure to have on the Tour, Dan wants the best for handball and runs a pretty tasty event in Ireland too. I was able to catch him for a quick minute in Spain.

@@BallSlaps correct me if I'm wrong but it is not a normal racquetball like we use here in NY, which I believe is the best ball for the sport, I can tell by sound and sight that the feel and action of that ball is much different, it both looks and sounds heavy and slow to me, but i think you have experience with NYC handball so I'd appreciate your comparison?

Yeah it's actually faster than the Penn believe it or not. We tried to copy the Penn as we needed a yellow one for blue courts. It came back faster and became the 'euroball'. What you're probably noticing is the sound and bounce on the different surfaces though. These courts skid a bit and slow the ball down more than the concrete of New York. The Euroball in NYC was actually a bit too fast on occasion!
Unfortunately we've run out of Euroballs now as they went out over COVID. We're developing a new one now which should basically be very similar to the Penn.

@@BallSlaps Fascinating! best of luck with that as it sounds like you are involved with that project somehow, and thank you for the info, what are people using in europe right now if the euroball is no longer in production?
