    To make these seamless hair scrunchies I start out with a provisional cast on, then use magic loop to knit directly onto the hair elastic, and finally cast off with kitchener stitch. Below I have linked the free pattern download, listed the video time of each of the main steps, and also listed the materials I used.

    Can you tell me where the loop we left went before the kitchener stitch?

    Hi!! Thank you so much for this tutorial :) Do you think it would be okay to use a regular needle instead of a dpn? Still being the same size or smaller than the circular needles. Thank you!!!

      Hi! Great question - unfortunately the magic loop technique only works with circular knitting needles and not with straight knitting needles. If you wanted to use your straight knitting needles you could knit a long flat stockinette rectangle (cast on 24, alternate between knit and purl rows for about 10"+) and then sew the rectangle onto a scrunchie using mattress stitch to hide the seam. I hope that helps!

    Can this be done on dpns, magic loop doesn't work for me

      Hi Dawn! Yes, it can be done on dpns, just be sure as you are knitting to move the hair tie along to one of the opposite corners from where the working yarn is coming out from as you work in the round (similar to how I moved the hair tie to the left corner each time for magic loop). And, when you are casting off, I would pick up the number of stitches that are on each one of your dpns, for example do kitcheners stitch on sets of 7, 7, and 8 stitches (instead of 11 and 11).

      Can this be done with 1 yarn strand? Do a regular long-tail cast on and continue?

      @@sundari1127 Yes! You could definitely use the long tail cast on instead, and then when you finish do a regular cast off, and seam the two ends together.

    what did you do with the slipknot at the end? do I just untangle it?

    • @KnittingHouseSquare
      @KnittingHouseSquare  3 роки тому

      No, you don't want to untangle the slipknot because it is holding one stitch. At the end when you are closing up the edge I would try to pull it to the inside of the work to try to camouflage it
