Sorry to hear about your bad staff experience, after spending so much money, too... I guess if you expect really polite and friendly staff tho, you need to go to events in Japan.. ^^; Western staff sometimes is a bit... you know how it is... I have been to a few events in Japan and they always treat the customer's matters with the utmost care and respect, even when regretfully explaining why something wouldn't be possible.
Merch started to run out on Friday (curiously the plushies with redemption codes), but there was still plenty of merch on Saturday. Seems like everything was sold out by the end of the day. and the staff was not really trained and were understaffed. Most of them were really friendly, but some of them were busted by the end of the event.
