Well done Gary I enjoyed watching and listening to the first part of your life story. Some great childhood memories there filled with characters as you say. Even though I’m a south London Battersea Boy my childhood was similar born in 1954 a bit older than you but with lots of characters and funny stories. We had one too with our Dad setting off the fireworks by mistake in the backyard and all of us having to dash indoors 😂. Look forward to your next episode. 👍👏👏👏👏
What a super idea Gary. I have just lost my reply to you!!! My great grandad William Black walked to Manchester with his brother from Sheffield during the steel slump. They worked at B & S Massey I think. Then my great grandad opened a fish and chip shop on Old Lane near the Alhambra Cinema on Ashton Old Road. I loved bonfire night, it was a magic time! We were lucky that we never had a tin explode like your dad did!!! He's lucky he wasn't hurt! I am so sorry to hear about your mum's health problem due to having her teeth out!!! That was terrible and it's true, we couldn't sue anyone back then!!! I certainly didn't remember that people were paid if they managed to kill rats back then! I remember always walking along the canal bank to even though we were told not to! Lovely memories that I can certainly relate to. Looking forward to your next one! Thanks a million.🙂🤗👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
@@garytayloropenshawladchann4693 So true. We didn't have a lot, but we were all in the same boat and happy with what we had! I think that we all have a sense of humour up here in the North! 🤗👍
