Rainforest Expedition Into Lao Wilderness With The Hmong

- We're back in Laos and going on another extreme rainforest expedition into the Lao wilderness with the Hmong tribal people. This time we'll be taking a longboat journey along the river in a remote area in Xaysomboun province, a part of Laos just outside Vientiane province which is undiscovered and unexplored by tourists and travellers. The population here is largely ethnic minorities, with the largest population being Hmong people. We are going to survive and thrive with the local Hmong in the jungle by fishing, hunting, gathering and bush crafting and exploring the deep rainforest of Laos where not many people have been before.

I wouldn’t call this as a vlog, but it is a beautifully documentary! you have giving us very insightful information about the place and the simple beauty in it at the same time. Also, I like the way how you show the real living style of Hmong people in Laos with the realness and kindness as they are . I just love it!!!!!!!
Wow, thank you so much for this lovely comment. We really appreciate that and absolutely love making these kind of videos. We hope to make many more in the future and do more projects around this 🙏 thanks again!
@@TravelsonToast do more videos in Laos, I love your content I am your hmong FC in Laos

I used to work for UNHCR in Thailand refugee camps. I met many Hmong people there. They are very honest, friendly people. I see that here in this video.
Laos is so beautiful and the Hmong people master survivalist.
The “praying part” is actually an offering of food and drinks to the spirits of the forest, land and surroundings. It is done prior to any feast/eating. It’s purpose is to show respect and in return, protection. It is believed that without the offering, the spirits will do harm, the party will receive bad luck and illness.
Great video!
I'm a Hmong-American living in California and definitely enjoy watching your shows, brother.
Great job! I’m happy for you and to the Hmong People who are kind and friendly to take you to the jungle to teach survival skills.
Thank you for bringing the jungle to my home so I can enjoy like I used to do 30 years ago when I was younger and still living in Laos.
CherTong Yang of Minnesota, USA. 😊
Bor pen Yang! Glad you enjoyed 🙂
His giggles are so wholesome!
I was born in Laos but left the country when I was 5. It’s awesome that your work helps refresh my memory of Laos jungle survival with my old man. Thank you for sharing!
Laos definitely is a man's man of a country. A far cry from the comforts of Thailand in its raw natural beauty.
Really love these Hmong forest/jungle videos! Really interesting seeing things we do not see normally. Need to do a go fund me for a decent boat for your Hmong friend.
Love this video! Thank you for sharing and for being so acceptive of the Lao/Hmong culture and beauty of its country! A humble person like you deserves all the adventures there is out there and we can live thru them from your videos! Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you so much 🙂
I was born in the USA. Thank you for showing us hmong American this. Be safe.
Thanks for watching 🙂
This video definitely deserves more views from the guy staying underwater for 3 mins (he had to have found an air pocket lol) and getting pure luck with those big fish being in the 1st spot the whole time. this could be on a nat geo wild or something tv show potential seriously I got good vibes the whole video.
Thanks a lot, it really means a lot to us!🙏
@ 45:43 what a sight a 🐝 swarm on your 📷 Awesome shot!!!
You are soooo lucky Mario. I’m jealous. Enjoy n be safe
Love the true adventure, I find the Hmong mountain people very interesting 👍🙂👍
Bravo Mario.
Agreed with your observation 100%. Ked sounds like a great guide. These two compliments each other perfectly.
Ked is legit the main character of these videos.
I need to meet Hmong people ! Your guide/friend is so joyful I fell in love :D
haha, go follow his channel too!
@@TravelsonToast actually I commented Ur vid at like only 5 or 10:00 so I heard u mention his Channel and went to watch his last video in which I Saw u again haha !
I'll soon be travelling to laos so maybe we'll meet there if u didn't leave yet ^^
Enjoy ! Thx for the documentaries, it really helps me understand Laos and its people in a more realistic way than just reading in Travel magazines and other forums etc... Plus it's recent, which is kind of rare with Laos vids in my experience.
So thanks a lot and see u there if Destiny wants to :D
Yayyyyy you survived with Hmong people, you must be proud of yourself 👏👍
Awesome video! Love seeing a different side of the Hmong people other than the typical poor village scenes. Ked is resourceful as heck! You are correct, I believe he can survive living continuously in the jungle with the survival instincts that he has.
Best episode ever 👍. And really admire the survival skills of the Hmong
I miss my home town 👍👍
My dude hit the salt bae at 34:50. Loved the fishing scenes
Aloha and thanks for sharing this adventure with us 👍liked and subscribed
Nice. The praying part is this. The hmong culture is when you go to the jungle or any environments when you want to take resources from the lands you have to ask the mother nature there for the resource. The hmong believe that each lands have spirit owners like in real life and you ask for their permission to take their resources or offer for protections. The offer food is showing gratitude for the taken resources, a sign for luck on great hunt with better chances and most important the offer protections from all sources like bad animals like predators, monsters, ghost, bad omen or lots more like bad stuff that could harm or get to you. When you eat in the jungle or foreign environments you have to give a little back to the mother nature spirit there. Whether if you eat from the resources off that environment or just your food from home it's wise, to offer some to the spirits that inhibitat that place. Safety and luck of what you need.
Thanks for the info, it's a really interesting culture :)
The Hmong brother and you would make good content. You two are very fun to watch. Just earned a sub.

Thanks 👍
I love your videos so much! Thanks for documenting my people for everyone to see
Thanks for watching!🙏
Hmong people are natural born hills people. They have big lung capacity also they have a way to breath through their nose or mouth. My dad who is old now would do this as a kid with his friends to go catch some fish and it would be funny activities. Sometimes accidents happens. But not a lot. Us Hmong people have hysterical about rivers and waters because of our religion but sometimes it better to not think too much and just respect nature. But this is superhuman on a level.
