Another great episode Rob. Exciting viewing with all the fish you guys were pulling in. I've noticed you don't use a net, are the lip grips easier to manage on the kayak or is there another reason. Cheers.
Thanks Jamie good times for sure, I have never been a big fan of nets on kayaks and just find them bulky so hence my preference for lip grippers. I also like them because it makes handling bigger ones that are to be released nicer.
NZ Kayak Fishing thanks for the reply rob. I'll have to check them out. I've always used a rubber net but I only seem to use it on larger fish and leader in everything else. The grips make sense as they can be in easy reach and don't take up room on the kayak. Looking forward to future episodes man.
Thanks for the reply Rob, I’m just getting into Kayak fishing myself using soft baits with average luck so far, I was just curious if this season you could dive more into what soft baits you’re using and why eg. Clarity of water brightness of the day etc Many regards Mike
Great show Rod as always. When it comes to landing fish, I always use a net and sometimes it is a pain as assist hooks sometimes tangle on the net. I see you use the grip. I'm keen to get one but will that hurt/damage the snapper's jaw for fish you want to free?
Hi William thanks for your feedback and its always nice to receive feedback. In terms of the lip grippers they are an excellent way of handling fish and as far as the fishes mouth I have not noticed any problems with fish damage to the mouth. So the answer is no they don't seem to cheers Rob
Hey Rob, great show as usual. My gold-digger alter-ego wants to know: I am subscribed to your UA-cam channel, but wondering what/where to like on FB? Your Kayak Adventures page or do you have something specific for this show?
