Great fun shooting at distance...the point of traditional archery - fun! Good shooting! When you switch your field points for blunts and start stumpin (or grass cloddin in your case) you'll open a new door to a whole bunch of fun! Some folks call it roving. Whatever you call walking around shooting random targets at random distances, it's a blast and good preparation for hunting!
I hear ya. I tried it with some blunt steel points. Lot's of fun but destroyed too many arrows. Probably need to get some judo points or those big rubber slip on points. Thanks for watching!
Hey Shane, first of all, Semper Fidelis. 6’7” here and looking for my first one piece traditional bow that fits my draw length. Now I am definitely considering the Galaxy. I’m trying to get on your level! Great shooting man.
hi shane that cross wind pushes the feathers left that tends to cause the tip to stay right and so though the whole arrow is drifting left the pressure on the left side of the shaft tends to push the arrow to the right. physics is a funny thing. harharhar. good shooting gare
Hey that’s some great shooting that far in that wind well done. Man you can see that arrow that missed pretty far to the right just blowing back-and-forth in the wind. 👍🏼👍🏼🏹🇺🇸 God bless.
Enjoying your videos, thanks. Forty yards is a hell of a shot for Trad. I'm not a hot shot myself but your PLUCKING the string on release. Your string hand moving to the left on release instead of to the rear, touch your shoulder follow through causes a target hit to the right. Do any agree. Thanks again for your time spent making these vids.
Thanks for watching and sharing your comments. My release isn't so much a pluck, but a dead hand that is getting tossed outward from the string sweeping across the fingers. But you are correct, I do need to clean it up and do a better follow through to the rear.
Good shooting, especially with the wind. Good to see you shooting out of your comfort zone. I wish I had 40 yards. Thirty-five is the most I can manage here.
Ron, We are fortunate to have 8.5 acres here, so we have a little elbow room to spread out some. I enjoyed the day shooting, and will do more at 40 when the wind is a bit calmer. Semper Fi! Shane
Oh you are so right sir. You see every little mistake that wouldn't be mistakes at twenty yards because they don't register. It is amazing that a quarter of an inch shift in your form can translate into missing the target completely. First shots hit the target! Bravo!!! Looks like it's not that far out of your comfort zone, haha. That is seriously incredible shooting! I can speak from experience, 40 yards is no joke! That is a hard shot and when I miss it can be by feet and not inches. A little shift or jump in form at twenty yards makes your arrow move an inch at forty that same shift moves your arrow like six to eight inches. There must be an exponential growth when looking at the shot in an equation, like in Kinetic Energy 1/2mv2 as the velocity goes up the total KE has a multiplier effect where double the speed and KE increases four times. Try 50 yd next, you definitely have the room to do it. My limit is about 40yd on my property can't really go above. OMG as I type this last sentence you just said '40 yards is no joke' lol! So funny, I typed it way before you said it in the video!
Thanks ! I saw your 50 yard video a while back, good action! I've tried 50. Calm day, had to hold arrow point on the top of the target frame. I got about 50% hits on the block, but often less. Eventually I'll probably get a 25" target riser and see what that is all about.
@@shanepitzer4126 No, still in the hospital, probably going to be here a couple more days, but only if everything goes well. Doing a lot of tests and I have been getting 2 shots a day and one at night in my stomach to break up the blood clot. Just eating jello, water ice, lot's of fluids .... Starting tomorrow I have to start introducing a little more firmer food, till solids .... They are trying to make sure I don't get more inflammation that will cause a blockage like it originally did! Thanks for asking, and God bless ya! Waiting for Babycakes to come up ... She is bringing some fresh fruit like Blueberries, strawberries, etc to see if I can get and hold them down ....
Brother, the mountain range in the distance is beautiful. Nice shooting my friend. That wind is really getting it and seems challenging to shoot in. How do you like the Black Ridge longbow? I tend to have a love hate relationship with mine. Have a great day brother! Best regards
Scott, The scenery is nice here no doubt. I enjoy shooting the Black Ridge, but I also have a Toelke Whip. They are like night and day in craftsmanship, feel, sound, smoothness. Still, I enjoy the Black Ridge, even though it is a budget friendly, assembly line bow. I watched your review before I made my purchase. i appreciated your candor. Take care, Shane
@@shanepitzer4126 I just received the galaxy black ridge longbow today. I was surprised at the slight reflex, expecting it to be straight (I didn't order the hybrid). But wow it shoots like a dream: quiet, smooth, no hand shock, no forearm slap. The bow felt in my hands somehow more predictable than my other bows. I could also see the target better than with my other bows, although I don't know why. Really a good deal for the money.

Actually at that distance and in that wind, pretty good shooting. Well done. Nice bow. Cheers from Canada👍😎🏹🇨🇦
Thanks, and good shooting to you!
Watching your video, I imagine myself overcoming the wind as if shooting an arrow. thank you for the video
Thanks for watching and sharing your comment! 40 yards in the wind is very challenging...😁🏹
Awesome shooting sir …
I enjoy your videos

I can see that. Pushing the feathers left, steers the arrow right, all while drifting left. A lot going on there.

Pretty impressive if you ask me from that distance & those conditions! God bless ... Can't wait till I can even get t out in the air and shoot again!

A Marine Corps Flag and an American Flag flying. That's my idea of a perfect neighbor.
We try to be good neighbors.
