    Completely blacking out the faces of the mines cross-section helps draw the eyes inside to the details of the story being told. I think you made the right choice. exquisite, as always.

      @dimitristripakis7364 2 роки тому +10

      I also think the cross section is better this way. What was wrong, in my opinion, is that the cross sections are too thick compared to the tunnels, so a lot of the area goes unused and this has a slightly negative effect on the end impression. Another thing you could change is, perhaps, to make the voice narration in the beginning and then go on with building footage with music only. Instead of talking all the time. Remember, these videos are enjoyable as in :"relax watching something beautiful". When he talks, it changes into "try to remember the instructions", which is a tad less relaxing, at least in my opinion. Nice joke with the soya sauce, I was ready to try it myself ha ha. Overall a great great model and video, thanks.

      @@dimitristripakis7364 I also like the channels that just work and not speak, think they call it ASMR. But both ways are good just according to the project and the viewers preferences. I think I would like to see a large Rocky Mountain pass diorama where it either shows their troubles of the snowy high pass or troubles with a rare high altitude cold environment imaginary beast. Not necessarily the obvious Yeti but maybe a giant mountain goat from hell or mountain feline like a lion or saber cat.
      Also I would maybe like to see an attempted human flight like a hang glider.

    In trying to follow the guidelines of the snowglobe lottery, I was like "okay i gotta comment on my favorite video" and it took a lot of scrolling back and forth through your channel to finally decide on this one. My favorites are definitely the wild imaginary west (monster ones) but narrowing it down came to rhe fact that I love spooky cave and mineshaft imagery. It was very cool to see the mines built up one at a time

    Very impressive job on this one, too. I remember being amazed back when Luke Towan did his mine diorama. His stuff is always excellent, but that one is still my favorite of his. Your mine dioramas remind me of his and take the concept out even further. Unbeknownst to the Wild West world above, there is a whole other Tolkienesque subterranean complex of ancient nameless things. Be careful how deep you dig…

    I think there are some situations where blacking out the cross faces helps a lot, especially with these mine sets. It sort of adds to the feeling of darkness and claustrophobia. Also I like that the giant bugs stick to the underground, makes me wonder if in this universe these are descendants of ancient bugs that got trapped underground, or are simply large bugs that hide in caves and old mines. awesome video as always

    The very first video that was recommended from you was the Spooky Goldmine. I grew up playing Thief The Dark Project and Drakan Order of the Flame, both games having iconic Mine levels. I don't know what it is, but I love the aesthetic of mines ever since, the sound of rocks, picks against stone, tunnels, the beam structure, and of course, much like the case in both games I mentioned, the terrors that lurk in the shadows.
    I can't wait to see you create more mine themed build! Thief had the mines haunted by zombies, and of course a giant spider, so I wonder, do undead have a place in your Imaginary Wild West? Meanwhile, the 'orcs' in Drakan forced humans to mine green glowing crystals, which I think would look very cool, instead of the warm orange lights, the tunnels being lit by an eerie green light.
    Thank you for making these among other wonderful creations!!
