Fun fact Trinicity mall. The largest mall in Trinidad and Tobago and the English speaking Caribbean is that it was built in 1984. It's 40 years old.
Is Trincity mall larger than Gulf City mall in the South? I doubt that. I just googled it and you are right. It says that it is the largest mall in the Caribbean
@@earlhenry9770 All I know is that it's supposed to be the largest in T&T and the English speaking West Indies. I've been Gulf City quite a few times and from my estimation it looks larger. Maybe not very much but it look it is larger to me.

Though built in 1984 it has been upgraded over a period of time and looked quite different now than then. Bigger and more stores.
Last time I counted there are about 8 or 9 malls in Trinidad 🇹🇹 quite an accomplishment for a tiny island......there a bigger more well-known and popular islands in the Caribbean with none.
Not only Malls, there are many more shopping plazas and shopping centers.
Malls do not necessarily confirms development/prosperity/equitable wealth distribution

@@paulsavenue12 according to your layman statement it would therefore mean that all these malls are just being built without the reality of economic growth; For your information the economic growth in TnT has given rise to employment opportunities increase in the minimum wage, etc etc, etc, This has led to persons now having the means to earn and spend in all those extravagant malls. Is that prosperity? Are you saying that newly built infrastructure eg Shopping Malls which are used to harbor and encourage trading in goods and services also entrepreneurship should not be seen as development ? Don't you agree that for so many malls to exist and continue to exist for over 40years, there must have a large clientele of shoppers in the country. That surely means means that income is distributed in a fair way and a large % of the populace has purchasing power, does it not? I think your analysis/statement in responding to the initial expression cannot hold water!!!

Trinidad has really surprised me! It looks like a first world country with beautiful malls and modern infrastructure. I’m sure many of its citizens enjoy a quality of life better than some countries in the west.

It's nice seeing you experience the culture of Carnival. I never been to Trini but I've heard their Carnival is amongst the best in the Caribbean. I never knew American style malls even existed in Trini. It was cool to discover that. Enjoy Tigress 💃🏿.
Trinidad carnival is not amongst the best in the Caribbean, it is common knowledge that it is the best. The reputable Huffington Post wrote that Trinidad carnival is the best in the world and it gave five reasons why. You can google it. Google 'Trinidad carnival is the best' by the Huffington Post.

I was so happy to see this video. You shopped at my favorite mall which is Trincity Mall and I also like the new mall, East Gate mall. I live up on that side so that’s where I do my shopping. Would you believe it’s a Bajan friend who introduced me to your video? He spent lots of time in Trinidad. I also watched your Jamaican video. One of your tour friends there is my friend. lol. I shared your video with my sister who says she learnt a lot about Trinidad from you. Lol. I also sent your video to some Kenyan friends of mine that I had met in the Cayman Islands.

Not quite accurate. Many persons from the eastern and southern Caribbean have traversed TnT. Almost every Afro Trini have relatives in the other islands.
@Benji_1 many is not most, and by your own declaration, they only travel within the eastern Caribbean Islands. As a reasonably educated person, I don't know much about most of the Caribbean beyond their names and maybe geographic locations. Traveling is also not a cheap affair. I have gone to 2 countries other than my own, and most people I know haven't gone to any beyond their home country and the USA. But I am happy to hear that many eastern Caribbean folks travel between their countries. Kudos to them on that.

Oh my nice seeing the inside of East Gate mall. I am in the east often as my daughter resides in the east and work at Bishops Anstey high school there and I am yet to visit that mall. It was opened in dec 2022. Love that u are having a great time here.

I visited that mall once before during my visit to tnt... very beautiful mall....i still have pictures by the water fountain.
