Can we please get a "shopping with Aaron" or "braille goes shopping" series? You guys are a riot in stores. You never know exactly what you want or need, but when you find it, mwah, chefs kiss, its priceless.
I used to watch you guys years ago, then life got busy. It makes me happy that you guys are still goofing around with board ideas! keep having a blast.
As dangerous as the home depot run was, this is ironically the most careful I've ever seen Aaron. He made sure the ends were straight, and used washers! There is hope!
Used to be a big fan of this channel when I was like 11 , haven’t skated since and just recently picked a board up and plan on skating again , love the channel , thanks for bringing me back to skating
Idea💡Screw in metal rails on both edges!!! Not only will it add rigidity but also JD can frontside air to 50-50 from the quarter pipe on to the longboard as Aaron does a rock n roll!!!
Suggestions? Def add clearance... Flip the trucks onto the "top" ride it "upside down". Make it more rigid, Add thin strips of wood (1/2" 3/4") perpendicular to the top of the deck, running parallel with the length of the board. Run a center line on the board & ends, match them up with the lines on the hardware to make sure it's running true. You also could possibly pre warp the board so that it is arched in the center. Soak board in water, let sit for a few hrs, Put on half pipe with weight, or clamps to get the slight bow, or just look for one of the several you may find at HD. lol. Great & fun video, thanks for all that you do.
You need to reduce the friction on the underside. Wax it up, and maybe put three skid plates on the places it gets the most wear, in the middle where it sags and at the ends where it scrapes ledges. If you're feeling really handy, make sure those plates are flush with the wood so they don't catch on ledges.
@@brailleskateboarding I think you guys should do the 16ft one but you get 16ft angle iron and bolt it to the wood so it doesn’t flex or bend then grip it
Flip it upside down and put trucks on the other side and also put a third truck in the middle to support the middle weight, could even use the longer board that way
these I are the kind of videos I love! Making a really dumb idea come true. After couple of minutes watching I'm getting more and more interested about the end result! big love
Use steam (water and heat and maybe like big towels) to shape the wood. Since the wood wants to arch down because of the weight on it give it an arch up to counteract it and also give it a chance of clearing obstacles in the middle.
Every braille episode is and epic one. Yall have the best jobs in the world. Who doesn't like to have fun while they work and goof off. And I don't really watch any other skateboarding channel on youtube to be honest. Cause they're just not as fun for me. Yall are so CREATIVE!😊
Flip the board over and put trucks on other side of template - with the thickness of the template, you already have most of the riser you may need already -super simple fix - stay awesome out there Braille Team!!
Khayri at 11:37 rollin in on that drift trike like he owns the place 🤣 Better watch out AK, somebody's has their eye on that 7-ply golden throne my guy!
I was watching a video where Gabe was talking about playing skate through a wrong number text, and it gave me an idea. A worldwide game of skate, where you have to submit the footage of a landed trick before the deadline(e.g. 30 min for each set). I think multiple tries would lead to people pulling off some insane tricks and pushing boundaries, making it difficult in a way that’s different from a normal game of skate.
To prevent it from touching the ground you can bend it in the middle. like it's an arch. To do so, you can wet it up with a lot of super hot water, bend it, hold the position until it's dry. You may have to use something with several attachment points to hold the curve and not only one (so it looks more like an upside down U and not an upside down V. OR, wasn't it possible to invert the position of the attachment piece and the long wood. (from bottom to top : trucks - tail or front piece - superlongwood) Super fun
FYI '2x' lumber is the dimension before its milled from rough lumber. So a '2x8' is actually 1.5" x 7.25". Just google lumber 'nominal vs actual dimensions' to look up a chart.
Nigels reaction to aaron going to home depot instead of across the street was hilarious😂😂. And the show you guys were talking about was called extreme makeover home edition
Instead of having the wheel adaptor over the long board try putting it under it, even though the picture has it over. With the center bowing you lose too much height from the trucks. Also by bolting the wheel adaptor over the board you are introducing a pivot point based on the bots holding the things together. When the adapter is in the over position it only use the bolts for strength. If the adapter is in the under position you still have the pivot point at the bolts but the wood of the adapter is also pushing up against the board making the connection point stronger.
Just remembered that I have a skateboard I bought awhile ago and you guys have convinced me to start riding again! Hopefully gonna just get more used to it this summer and do some street stuff
You gotta find a board that is strongly bowed and put the bow upwards in the middle so when weight is on the board it flattens out. You won't need risers then and might be able to fit 4 people on it!
During the assembly, has really noone thought about putting the plank ontop of the tail and nose, instead of below? So the plan is higher up and has more space to bend naturally, instead of using rizers
this would be a cool thing for beginners: is more secure to go on a ramp with that and slowly getting them the feel and courage to go with a regular board
A decently long metal plate in the middle might give it better support to hold weight since a lot of your problems come from the board being too flimsy at that length and bending in the middle.
please try the vert ramp with this longboard again with two of you guys standing on each side and pump on upsides of the ramp like your each a leg on a regular board
I made my own 6 foot longboard a long time ago carved a deck shape from some strong plywood set it up with Indy 215s and Xtreme 99mm street slicks took to get moving took some mussel ... stopping took some tread
Duuude .. at the 7:40 mark the only thing this video has left me thinking is what if somebody ran into the end of those boards sticking out of your prius, it would have drove it clean through the dash and it would have probably shattered the air intake on top of the engine. You guys are nutz! Lol
Petition to turn Braille Army channel into Braille After Dark where the guys dont have to censor themselves and they just skate. Invite homies to come skate or go to other parks
i was thinking, for another video, attach 1 more trucks at the middle. let it roll on a straight path, then u guys line up on both sides waiting for it like it's a train and you're trying to hitch a ride but the longest board don't stop, you guys then try to get on by doing tricks, nose grind maybe, but of course i don't think it would grind as the "train" is moving, but it's a way to get on. and with the power of friendship, you all ride together. friends that skate together...might get bodied together, so BE CAREFUL if you ever consider this. it might be difficult and dangerous, but it could be fun 😁
Would have been worst if they clipped it from the side and it hit into one of you 😬 love braille and all the stress you put me through 🤣👌 glad it all worked out 👏 loved the vert ramp bit, almost like a carnival ride once you get it going and jump on.
I would turn the board over and put the trucks and risers on the other side. It would lift the board substantially. Looked like a fun project either way.
You need the amount of rizers to be so high that you can put another truck under the board in the middle. Then it wont bend as much and will go alot faster
@@brailleskateboarding It should help make the whole thing stiffer so it doesn't sag as much. The most important factor is the vertical width of the stiffener, so if you can find yourself a pair of 1.5 inch aluminum angles, that would probably be your best bet. I see that Home Depot has "1-1/2 in. x 96 in. Aluminum Angle Bar with 1/8 in. Thick", so if you're willing to spend ~$100, get two of those and bolt 'em on. Give it a try and see what happens!
@@brailleskateboarding Vertical height really is the most important thing for stiffness, so if you really want to go crazy you should build a box structure. If you used four 1x8x8s to make a long box, with 2x8 end caps to keep it from collapsing sideways (and maybe a couple in the middle, too), it should hardly sag at all. Of course that will put you a foot off the ground...
The angle iron would help a ton without the ammount of bulk building a box would add. If you want to get maximum stiffness either find some 1.5 or 2 inch c channel that would cup the edge of the board or run two pieces of angle iron one on the top edge and one on the bottom edge of each side effectively making a c channel. Use plenty of bolts down the length of the board and it will be solid.
Funny idea😂 I bet it would work way better if you add another set of trucks and wheels in the center of the board that way the middle of the board won't drag👌🤙🫵👍
Turn the board upside down and put the trucks on the other side, that gives you more ground clearance
This is immediately what i thought as well!
i was yelling at the screen the same exact thing haha
Set of trucks in the middle
Also a T of angle-iron down the middle would get rid of most of the flex
Nigel’s reaction to Aaron driving back with the wood sticking 10 feet out of the back 😂😂
9:49 😂😂😂
"YOU DID NOT DRIVE FROM THE STORE LIKE THAT!!"
this would be a long board. fk thisa youtuber
Lo peor es que tenía otra tienda en la esquina 😂😂😂

Love it yes
Lowes is better.
yall should defenely do this!!
What if we put the wheels on the opposite side? I guess the board will feel stable too
would raise the middle section up so it wouldn't scrape as easily, ya.
thats what i thought the whole time why didnt they just do it
Was thinking this as well...
My thoughts too
Flip the board!
The Guys: "Kickflip it!"
The Kid: **tries**
Absolute gold, best part of the entire video.
The best Idea of a long time, how could no one think of this fantastic idea?🔥🔥
Poser
Chaos, but reaching non skaters and inspiring them to skate because of its absolute hilarious-ness! Like Aaron intended.
I used to watch you guys years ago, then life got busy. It makes me happy that you guys are still goofing around with board ideas! keep having a blast.
i wanna see two people riding but with both people pushing. i wonder if u can get going fast. tandem skateboard would be really neat
Glad to see Aaron's transition skills in today's video. Always a treat to see a master at work.

That is the plan

Thanks!
Shouldn't the trucks be on the other side so it's further off the ground?
OK.see. This /These are the reasons we luvLuvLuV Braille & their ideas /creativity 🎉🎉🎉

You could just connect a ratchet strap in between both trucks and tighten
Try mounting the trucks on the otherside of the board for max ground clearance! And maybe throw some ALL Terrain wheels on it and take it off road!
Lets go

Thanks for the tips!
When you guys said centering the board that’s a 1/4 larger so it is only 1/8 on both sides. I was so proud of you guys
We are learning I guess haha
Need to try putting the end wooden pieces on the underside of the 8 footer. That would get the deck a little higher so it wouldn't drag as much. Maybe
when gabe said we dont have anything to tie it down with . i died thnking you could go to homedepot. then Nigel!!! hahahaha best vid ever

Might I recommend small roller pins type thing for the middle so it rolls when it scratches floor
That looks like so much fun in the vert ramp! I would try to tame that beast.

Yes Jonny Giger did this. I think it was called global game of skate. He asked me to do it. I should shouldnt I

Liked the editing and longer format in this video. Feels like an episode of a tv show.
Ripstik + Apple Wheels. Patiently waiting
watching you guys sketchily load that wood into the prius made me so nostalgic for when my friends and I would build practice rails in highschool

I love how Gabe has to gently explain to Aaron how lumber and measuring works.
I just need tandem skating in my life!
Me too
That thumbnail. 🤩
You definitely need to nail a short rail onto the longboard.
Good idea!!
Those vert clips were strangely satisfying.
Right!? I thought we nailed it
this reminds me of the You Make It We Skate It Series. thanks for uploading this Aaron.

He gave a full attempt on that kickflip. I spit my water out my nose that was so funny XD
Camber the bottom edges for cornering and add a caster in the middle

Would it work to flip it upside down and put the trucks on it that way? That way you have more space between the middle and the ground

why did you use the nose and tail pieces in the first place? make the ends thinner with a router and screw the trucks on.
Hmmm with a router 🥴
@@brailleskateboarding sure. You take a router template and can make any shape you want.
