I thought it would be fun to record Moon River which was my "The Voice Kids" audition song in 2018 when I was 13 years old! Moon River is the song where my exciting musical journey started! ❤️️
Moon River was written by Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer for the 1961 film "Breakfast At Tiffany's" starring Audrey Hepburn and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

I am almost 74 and without a doubt this is 'the' best rendition of Moon River I have ever heard. You are a beautiful young woman. I am only sorry that I will not be able to see where your talent takes you. You make me remember when I was your age and I thought I had totally forgotten. Thank you!

When I was growing up, I would hear this song sung by Andy Williams and was enamored with the emotion and tone that he put into it. I did not even realize that this song was from a movie until much later in life. As much as I loved Andy's version of this song, I now have a new favorite version. But then again, you have been creating my definite favorites of old classics for a couple of years now since I discovered your UA-cam channel. I heard many grown up singers singing Moon River before your TV audition in The Kids Voice UK 2018, but it's amazing how a little girl, just 13 years old, sang it better than all of them ❤!!!! It was a great idea to sing this song again and I can't watch it without crying, because I remember the 13 year old kid who was the winner 🏆 💛!!! In that 2018 TV contest, a great Star ⭐ was born!!!

Breakfast at Tiffany's was my mother's favorite movie. I've lost count how many times I've watched it with her. My mother is gone now but the memories lingers on. Lucy gave Moon River justice. Wonderful rendition.

I don't think much of any kind of talent show but that show served its purpose. It launched something truly special.
@@Robbie.Dunbar Lucy may not have won the show but she has already gone on to have more success than others who actually did win. What happens on these shows is one thing, it’s how things go in the real world that counts. I don’t know of a winner, either on the kids or adults version of the UK show who has gone on to release 3 albums
@@50kevind Isn't that the truth. I did a search a while back on performers from that show and I could not find anyone that has gone on from there and done anything significant. Maybe in other seasons but I do not know as I have not watched any of those. Lucy is just fine where she is. I have complete faith in Lucy and Chris and see big things in their future.
@@Robbie.Dunbar it certainly comes across that Chris is letting Lucy record the sort of material that she enjoys performing which I think would be rare for an artiste just starting out. If she was with one of the bigger labels it’s possible they may have pushed her in a direction that was best for the company. Pure guess on my part however as I have no experience in that area

I was born in 1954, so in 1961 I was only 7 years old. But as I grew up, Moon River was absolutely my very favorite song and even today it still brings tears to my eyes. Lucy, you have done a marvelous rendition of this very famous song and you brought much joy to my day. Thank you, precious young woman! I pray continued success in your career!
