Its only 2-6 months when you set it on motion detection. Its not on all the time. I dont have these type of lights, but I like keeping my lights on 24/7.

Yes they are renter friendly. There is a magnetic strip that uses a double sided tape to stay on the surface or you can always use the 3M tape with Velcro so it is definitely removable.
