I preferred when they had Vortex and his majestic voice instead of the choir. They're earlier albums (1995 to 2003) are their best work in my opinion. Amazing atmosphere, phenomenal drumming, and wicked riffs, as well as shrieks and screams from Shagrath. Excellent lyrics, too. They are my favourite band and every album has a totally different sound and style! Can't judge this band based off of a couple of songs. I recommend at least 2 songs from each album to get a feel for the variety of styles they've done. 🙂🤘
My favorite band as well I saw them live once and I lost my shit. I screamed like a girl at a boy band show. So much so that people in the crowd were looking at me instead of the band. Not embarrassed it was awesome I got to see nick and vortex with the guys I will never forget it 😃
Their first two, For all Tid and Stormblast, are the absolute best. I think they set the bar so high they had to change it up a bit. Their later stuff isn't terrible but it's just not on the same level
@@atheist101 I love their first EP and For All Tid, but several of the songs on Stormblast just don't stand out to me for some reason. I do love some songs on it though.
Without chronological ranking: 1. "Gateways" (Has to be the Live version though). 2. "Progenies lf the great apocalypse" (Live) 3. The Serpentine Offering. 4. Kings of the Carnival Creation. These four songs is a must-listen-to, if you do a reaction video of them it'd be awesome too. 🙂🙂👍👍🤘🤘
I'm lazy to scroll though all the comments, but I suppose by now you know that this song is originally from the Enthrone Darkness Triumphant 1997 album where they only used a keyboard. The song here live at Wacken 2012, was done with the orchesta and the band wrote the orchestral composition for it simply because their later songs were performed with an orchestra, but they wanted to include some of the older stuff which lacked classical elements, so they had to specially write the stuff. Of course, I am certain that the chief conductor (Jan Chalupecky from the Czech Republic) probably made slight adjustments together with the band. Anyways, if you love this stuff, boy oh boy I have so many suggestions for you. If you're looking for "theater of the mind" types of songs then my catalogue is solid. I see you reacted to Wintersun, I watched it. Their first song from "The Forest Seasons" album is awesome, you should try it. Also, another band that you've never reacted to is Shade Empire. They are extreme like Dimmu Borgir, but a bit different. I'd recommend an almost 13minute long "Disembodiment" from Omega Arcane 2013 album. There are no solid live versions of this song, they are not as rich as Dimmu, but my oh my their orchestral compositions along with the guitars and drums are spot on.
664 views only really really Dimmu Borgir is really good band they like the most popular Black Metal band ever really they are really good band, Cradle has ups and downs with Albums Dimmu never peaked like Cradle but always consistent you know you getting Dimmu always is nice.
I hate when people hate on Black Metal it's good stuff man and look the Orchestra is super happy to be thier like Epica levels of excitement. The Compositions are fire man I love the music arrangement so much.
@@digitalmouse3314 well, all that satanic stuff, burning churches and kicking tomb stones have probably given a very bad label for this. And those lyrics can be quite dark at times. It is sad, because these songs are musically masterpieces, and these musicians are very talented. I have always loved their music (since 90´s), but just very recently started to like this type of vocals as well. And for me, these concerts with a full orchestra are the best. It's something else, even that I liked Mustis and ICS Vortex too.
I know you reacted to Septic Flesh recently. So if you like the Orchestra Concept try reacting to Septic Flesh Live. One of their gigs has the best Orchestra in any metal band.
Your reaktion to music amazing Me, try react to an other Dimmu Borgir - Progenies of the Great Apocalypse (with ICS Vortex live) or more reaction of Dimmu Borgir, thax 🤘
Can we all appreciate the Trombonist living his BEST life during this performance!
Yeah, great guy
The entire Enthrone Darkness Triumphant album is fire!
Its an absolute masterpiece, can listen to it from beginning to end like 3 times in a row any day

Imagine vortex backed by the choir and orchestra though 🤩
Gateways live is a must to listen to. :)
Gateways is one of their worst songs
@@JeremyBarbell But better than most I know from other bands. :)
@@RouviA can't argue that 👍

First time I’ve heard them, impressive! I liked the way some of the Orchestra were rocking out with them!
Enjoyed this. Cheers to you.
This channel (and Tauri) is badass! I really enjoy ur reactions, Tauri. Love when you dance in your chair🥰
You must hear the studio version of In Deaths Embrace and The Insight and The Catharsis. in my opinion their best songs. absolute works of art.
I’ve seen Dimmu Borgir live a couple of times they are very entertaining.

Succubus in Rapture is a personal fav. For sick drumming have to listen to Puritania. That song will kick your ass! 😂🤘🏻
They are Dimmu Borgir ! It says e everything!
They're approaching 30 years now. THis was Wacken 2012.
Now they are a 30 year old band!
going on an adventure is an understatement. great reaction
Those guys are from norway so you're right about that vikingy feeling.=D
It’s just so beautiful
Nice reaction 🤘 but it’s from wacken 2012 and luckily I was there 🤘🤘🤘
I highly recommend you get this on either DVD or Blu-ray
The intro to Mourning Palace is heavenly!!

Tauri are awesome
Beauty and the Beast
there is no orchestra on the studio version. The studio version has symphonic black metal synths of that era (the end of the 90's).
Next dimmu borgir - A succubus in rapture reaction please
progenies of the great apocalypse
Tauri, you should do more Dimmu Borgir. 🙂
this was their best album/lineup

Gateway next for sure. @JustJen need to check them out with Gateway first;)

React to Wintersun with the song Sons of winter and stars !

Going to copy his make-up? 😜 💜🤘
This was from 2012
Without a doubt , its one of Dimmu borgirs best songs....BUT, the keyboard instrumental parts are a blatant copy of Enya - orinoco flow.
ICS Vortex must better than choir...best back vocals Vortex. Eternal 1995-2003.
The vocalist used to be great before he became a panda/cat that sounds like a frog.
