Dang windy day to be on the trail. Keeps you cool while hiking though. Awesome views up there. Pretty cool to see the cabin. Neat to think people still use it on adventures from time to time. Nice hike. Have a great day.
Cool cabin! It’s been there a nice long time… good that people can use it if needed! Sure was windy! I guess you know where to look for snakes…the one in the photo looked pretty long… good to know they pretty much just want to get out of your way. Hope you had a good holiday weekend even though you had to work too. Hard to believe it’s just about Fall! 👌👍👍☀☀☀
Hold on to your hat! Bummer to have to work Labor Day Weekend, but credit to you for getting out to do some hiking locally 👍 That heavy brush definitely would've made me a little nervous with rattlesnakes around! The cabin was pretty cool, though, even though it seemed to be in somewhat rough shape. Can you reserve it like a campsite, or is it a first come, first served situation?
Have to figure out where the fernwood trailhead is you went to. My teenager and I tried to go from the layton trailhead as its just up the street from our home. It was a nightmare. I could not handle it and we were told by another hiker looking at his map that it was a 5 and 1/2 mile up nothing but steep slopes so we we decided to turn back and go home. Can you give a road map link to the trail head you used and also can you tell us how many miles this hike was?
I started from Fernwood just so I could warm up before making that climb. It mellows out a little once you make it pass the cliffs. It is a 3000ft climb and 5.8 mile round trip. Slow and steady is the only way I get there, but I think it is worth it. Fernwood adds an extra 1.5 miles. Take care!

Thanks for watching.
Beautiful video with beautiful views
Thank you very much!
Beautiful hike!
It's a steep bugger.
I’ve never been to this cabin! Pretty awesome place! Cool hike!
I think it is a worth while hike. It is a steep one.
Thanks for checking it out.

Snakes really weren't too bad this year. Waited until September to strat moving, at least where I had been hiking.
Take care!
Nice adventure, fun one to watch!!
It is one I had been meaning to get back to. There are so many trails to do, it's hard to get back to the ones you started out on.
Thanks!
such a good problem to have right ;) So many trail, so little time.
Cool hike and great views. Looks like the cabin hasn't been used in a bit maybe. All good! Bruce and Otis
Thanks 👍
That cabin could stand a little TLC but it's not in too bad of shape. Fantastic view from up there! Great hike my friend.
It definitely hasn't been taken care of. For a long time, people really did respect it and take care of it. It was used for more of a hunting cabin.
That’s a cool place. ✌️
It's a little rough compared to my first trip there years ago. Always worth the hike up there. Most years It's not quite so green.

First to come. Not a lot of people venture up that high. I think hunters would use it the most.
Catching up on videos tonight?
Cool hike up to the cabin. Have you ever hiked up there in the snow?
Yes, I have. I like it much better, honestly. This year, I hope to have some touring skis and ski off Thurston Peak.
Thanks for checking it out!
