1-Since sound matters indeed and looking over your LEFT shoulder I agree with you when Nico and their kid not with the eyes of ''the queen is dead'', and the whole song and dance music/sound world gone bananas , but not completely though (for there are bananas and then there are BANANAS ) in wrapping all LP aelbums 2 keep the cover's art and graphics pristine in that first poly... sleeve you showed (nothing wrong with milky though) and in kinder and less sandy inner sleeves 2.
2-And for what it matters you remind me of a cousin of mine I haven' t SEEn for ages, 4 decades more like it now living in Mexico, Kid you not.
3-So keep it up your videos coming...Shema!!!

Very much enjoying the channel. Just purchased the brush as my old one wasn’t up to scratch. Unfortunate word there. Keep the videos coming. 😊

It's disappointing how many new records don't come with a lined inner sleeve. Obviously if it's just a plain paper inner that's easy to replace but what about printed inners with lyrics etc? Not to plug a particular brand, as others are available, but I really like Spincare's 'Dynamic' rounded inner sleeves as they fit inside those printed inners, turning it into a lined inner sleeve.

That’s a good point: the circular design of those does work well as an insert to printed inner sleeves. Thanks for adding to the discussion.

Appreciate your content as always, Mark. Re: accessories, have you noticed Humminguru seem to be getting into that arena? There’s a static eliminator called the Orbit which looks kinda futuristic and interesting. And apparently there is a V2 of the flagship ultrasonic cleaner as well. Any chance you'll be getting your hands on or reviewing any of these in the future?

He’s already reviewed the Humminguru: ua-cam.com/video/g1GFwk48op0/v-deo.htmlsi=RYYzbEDTWBsRr_ed
BTW-I recently got a Humminguru myself, and I love how it works!!! It’s definitely an upgrade from the Spin Clean I was using. I recommend that you look into it if you have a substantial record collection.

Thanks leon. Appreciate the kind words. Yea, HumminGuru have branched out a bit. Haven't seen the Orbit yet. I've seen the new ultrasonic and would love to review it; I'm trying to contact them, but they're tricky to get a reply from. We'll see. Happy spinning!

Hi Mark, how are you? I really like your website and the accessories for vinyl records I think are incredible, I bought some because I saw them on your channel.
Please, can you help me with some information? How high and far apart should the speakers be located?
My speaker is 70 cm tall.
I'm thinking about placing them on the floor above a 10 cm foam... and a distance of one and a half meters between them and my monitor in the middle.
Am I correct? Thank you very much and success!

Hi, in your videos you recommend Vinyl Solutions products, but when I click on your link to their site and try to buy, it says they do not ship to the UK.
Can I ask how you purchase them?

You can buy in the U.K. via Mint Sleeves as a distributor.

Question - How often should I replace my Carbon Fiber Brush?

    • @soundmatters
      @soundmatters  2 місяці тому +1

Tough one to answer I guess, as it depends how often you use it and the condition of the records. They can, if well treated, last for many years

As a former owner of a very sizable record collection numbering in the thousands, I am at a complete loss as to why people still cling to this obsolete, noisy, capacity limited medium for listening to music when superior digital sound and convenience are now available. I do miss the beautiful record jackets and the music store experience, but other than that I am very satisfied with having the music world’s catalog at my fingertips for a nominal monthly fee and would never ever go back. Now, with high quality headphones, I can listen to a recording such as Brian Eno’s Apollo Soundtracks in clear and expansive digital sound with none of the surface noise and analog compression that absolutely ruined it first me back in the day. The cheap and noisy pressing I owned infuriated me and I tried to fix it by buying it several times, only to be confronted with the same issue because it was a noisy mass pressing. I didn’t always have the money to buy an expensive German or Japanese import. I sure don’t miss those days and can only laugh at you “purists” for your insistence that this is the best way to listen to music when it is most definitely not.

Never used outer covers for LP’s. As long as you’re careful with them, they’re a bit pointless in my opinion.
