- Just shapes and beats recently put out a new chapter called "the lost chapter".
also can be called JSAB the lost chapter
you are required to play and beat the main story mode and this will come as a new final boss.
in this video I am comparing the old version and new version of the new chapter.

In the original version we’re just being weirdly harsh to the cube friend with no reason, I’m glad that they’re somewhat of a happy boi in the new version.
Well, it wasn’t for no reason, whatever the cyan square is called wanted to everyone out
Also now knowing that in the original, Barracuda was meant to be in the black hole makes Barracuda's existence make a little more sense.

Honestly, the fact that we had so much when it was unused makes me think that they put it there on purpose, that it was never scrapped, that they wanted us to find it as a teaser.
Maybe it’s why they named it the *Lost* Chapter
Because TLG found and documented it first
It was scrapped because they didn't like how long they took for the liking of their pacing. They did not intend for players to find it. Official designer in the discord said so.
Maybe not fully scrapped anyway, it probable DID used to be in the main story before release... lets say it was partly scrapped or something.

Fun fact:
The original music for the Boss chase was Core instead of Pursuit
Switching it was definitely a good idea
There's already extras level with Core song. So they switched it into pursuit.
I feel like it was just a placeholder
feel like itd kinda fit the mood a little better but pursuit definitely fits a cutscene level more

The newer version seems to have been ramped up in difficulty, yet also have less levels. The original version probably would’ve had easier levels since you would’ve played it after the tutorial, so there would’ve been more of them.

But they could leave the same number of levels to make it longer now there are only 5 songs instead of 8

i played this last night on my switch and it froze when it was the chasing part 0-0
luckily it saved so i didnt have too restart all over but this is the best update i seen from JSAB

@Joshua aguilar The new chapter only opens if you see the ending of the story mode. There is no new chapter in the demo version.
What I find hard to believe is that the older version had DOUBLE the regular levels (8, to the newer version's 4)
I feel like its because this takes place after the tutorial levels
Edit: that probably wasnt what they were going for at the start
I mean they both technically have 1 extra level but that one is more of a area level

Probably because they wanted to make the player belive that the boss of the zone is the final boss of the game and the credits before new game are the final credits, so it would be a fake ending like Final Boss

man everything about this update is phenomenal i just played through it for the first time and after being a fan of the game since it came out damn its all come a long way since
Seeing the sun patting the tree and cube came out, bring a whole lotta nostalgic in the old days playing story mode.
They cut 4 levels and these levels that literaly lost just lost their chance.
Its almost identical give and take some minor details (like the webs)

I did myself a bad I can not play this new chapter because before I heard about this update I restarted teh story mode and because for some reason sometimes my character desides it does not want to move It will be a pain in the ####.

Does anyone else experience lots of issues when playing multiplayer now after this update? I need to know Im not the only one
Problems: Only getting into games 1/2 the time, after a couple songs nothing appears on the screen during songs but it still completes

I have had this happen to me a few times and it resulted in a very funny moment with Annihilate

Я бы хотел чтобы потерянная глава имела больше уровней как старая версия но умела всякие нюансы по типу гг засосало в дыру как это выглядит в конечной версии. Проще говоря я бы хотел больше уровней а то и так кормят лишь раз в год. Ну и на этом конечно спасибо что за игрой следят уже три года и продолжат я думаю.

as far as I know, they are still working on it.
whole lotta missed potential if they do decide to quit. its an awesome game never seen anything just like it before and i think with another good update or just more consistent updates if theyre committed to it would definitely bring the popularity up again

My question is whyd they change the old to the new.
The old was scraped and they change it to be more harder
They didnt like the pacing
The way I see it (studying for game dev), they probably thought that level didn't make sense at the beggining: you just had your tutorial, why place another section with 9 songs before the "intro" of the game? With the chapter scrapped, you jump from the first boss right into the world you will later save, whereas keeping the lost chapter would make this intro pretty longer than it has to be...

Yup, the thing is the chapter got leaked ages ago since it was originally planned to be between Tutorial and Paradise, but just a few weeks ago it got officially added to the game
