8:00 Peking 1911 is not a US ship. It is a German ship that was taken as war reparation after WW I. It is now back in Germany. The museum in NY wasn't able to upkeep it and gifted the ship back to Germany. The ship as seen is as it is now restored by Germany and will be part of the Port Museum in Hamburg. The flying P-liners were build for the German Empire. Four ships still exist: Pommer, Peking, Passat and Padua. Pommer is a museum ship in Mariehamn (Finnland). The ship was awarded as war reparation to Greece. Peking is a museum ship in Hamburg (Germany). The ship was awarded as war reparation to Italy. Passat is a museum ship in Travemünde (Germany). The ship was awarded as war reparation to France. Padua is an active training vessel operated by Russia under the name Kruzenshtern. The ship was awarded as war reparation to the USSR.
1:01 "Eagle" is the German "Horst Wessel", 7:20 "Sagres" is the German "Albert Leo Schlageter", 17:14 "Sedov" is the German "Kommodore Johnsen" - all are also stolen Ships by "Reparation"
I've watched the three videos. There are so many ships to show, but you should consider argentine ships ARA Uruguay, permanently moored at Buenos Aires port, near Sarmiento (which is in the third video, thanks), and ARA Libertad, the training ship or the Argentine Navy. ARA Uruguay was built in 1874 and made the epic rescue of Otto Nordenskjöld's expedition in Antarctica in 1903. Nordenskjöld's ship, the Antartic was lost when was returning to pick them up after one year in Anctartica. When the ship didn't return, Argentina organized the rescue preparing the ARA Uruguay for the expedition. She sailed southe ande found the expedition and also the crew of the Antarctic, returning to Buenos Aires in very bad shape. Now is a floating museum.
ARA Uruguay is in Dock 4. ARA Sarmiento is in Dock 3. On her bow above water line it had a torpedo launch tube, which has been covered. ARA Libertad built in the 50s is a cadet instruction still sailing on yearly voyages. ARA stands for Argentine's Navy. 🤞🏻Looking forward to further videos, highly appreciated all 3 done so far 👍🏻👏🏼👏🏼👍🏻👍🏻 🇦🇷🤗⚓⛵
Very nicely done. I watched all 3 videos. However, I didn't see the Christian Radich: winner of multiple tall ship races, used in the TV series Onedin Line, ...... If she was included and I missed her, I apologize. Same goes for the the Sørlandet. I don't think I saw her either.
Nice video interesting ships, some of them I don't know, but the Peking is back in her home port Hamburg, not New York anymore (there she is just rotting), she is now a Hamburg/German Lady again :))... to the old P liners I am still missing the Passat . And check out the Alexander von Humboldt 1/2 and the Rickmer Rickmers:)
Peking was a German ship indeed, one of the famous P-liners build by Blohm & Voss in Hamburg. The Padua, Passat, Pommern and Peking are the last four remaining today. The Pommern is a museum ship in Mariehamn, Finland. After years of Restauration The Peking sailed into her home harbour, coming home after 80 years "in die ferne" The Passat is a museum ship in Travemünde, Germany. Padua is the only ship still active, she is today a school ship and sails as Kruzenshtern under a Russian flag.
How about Argentinians Navy training frigate "Libertad"? Will she be seen in the next video? She has several world records of speed arround the world and Atlantic crossings. Beautiful videos, BTW. Some of the vessels I didn´t know about, so thank you. Greetings from NE patagonia, Argentina.

In case you ever start this series up again, I would love to see the Canadian Bluenose II (exact replica of the original legendary Bluenose schooner which was lost off of Haiti in 1946). It acts as an ambassador ship as well, and it is stunning. I know it's not exactly tall or big like some of these other ones, but I did see The Pride of Baltimore and I reckon they're around the same size.
Proceed to do a 4th video mate :) There`s still some nice ships you left out, like the Gorch Fock or the famous Libertat. If it goes on with it like it is, the Gorch Fock might join the club of ships we lost soon though :(
What are you talking about? Gorch Fock is lying in the port of Stralsund permenantly, while Gorch Fock 2 has been restored or rather rebuild and is still in service with the German navy.
@@tridder Barely got the greenlight for that rebuild back then due to the usual funding question and some controversy arround the woodtype (teak, which is counted as rare wood in Germany). Might not be so lucky next time. Besides, even though she`s the 2nd and technicly a sistership, it`s still just "Gorch Fock", without the 2.
Here is couple from Finland. Suomen joutsen (The swan of Finland):, build 1902,lenght 96 m, today museoship. Pommern: build 1903, lenght 95 m, today museoship. There is some good quality videos available.
Mother, mother ocean, I have heard you call Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall You've seen it all, you've seen it all Watched the men who rode you switch from sails to steam And in your belly you hold the treasures few have ever seen Most of 'em dream, most of 'em dream Yes I am a pirate, two hundred years too late The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder I'm an over-forty victim of fate Arriving too late, arriving too late A Pirate Looks at Forty, by Jimmy Buffett
Notice how the coast guard eagle always comes in under power; its because they dont know how to manage a square rigger under sail... Puddle pirates all. All the other tall ships shown come in under sail... If your going to crew such a ship you'd better kno how....

I really loved the shots of that Viking ship, Draken Harald Harfagre 14:00
Honestly these endings physically hurt.
These ships are so beautiful, there are no words to express how truly beautiful they are.
